I love the trophy alert in the title. I always watch them 100% through because I want to see how the sausage was made.
That lack of spoiler season was because the full set was leaked, someone got product early by accident(and wotc sicked the picertons on them)

Fenruscloud from round 2 exclusively plays infect and has a yt channel with the same name just for future reference
The fact that Archon off of Sneak Attack is 12 damage, Hymn to Tourach, Divination, and a sweeper is so fucked

It feels very similar to resolving a [Cruel Ultimatum], although the numbers are very slightly different. And that's a 7 mana sorcery!

Gyruda reads weird with the new oracle text. Old one says: "each player puts the top four cards of their library into their graveyard. Put a creature card with an even converted mana cost form among those onto the battlefield under your control."
Even if the cards get exiled instead of put into the graveyard they are still 'among those' cards. Only if they end up in a non-public zone for some reason there would be issues.
New text says: "each player mills four cards. Put a creature card with an even mana value from among the milled cards onto the battlefield under your control."
Now it specifies 'milled cards'. But milling is 'a player puts that many cards from the top of their library into their graveyard.' If the card is not put into a graveyard, is it still considered milled? Just like a creature or planeswalker can never activate death triggers with a Rest in Peace on board. Because 'dying' is defined as a creature or planeswalker moving from the battlefield to the graveyard which cannot happen in that instance.
I am probably way over thinking this but it is fun to think some of these rules.
This is covered with rule 701.13c:
"An effect that refers to a milled card can find that card in the zone it moved to from the library, as long as that zone is a public zone."
The cards are still "milled" and Gyruda can see them even if they end up in exile, since exile is public
To be completely honest, I find the moxfield ad read hilarious. Something about the deadpan delivery just gets me.

35:51 you are half correct. It USED to reveal all the cards and then you cast it, but now it shoves them all into exile instead now wizards have started using exile as a holding place

I think I'm in love with Drifter in Sneak & Show (I will now call it Grifter because when its out there its totally grifting the opponent).
Also, Simian Spirit Guide FTW....Banned in Modern because 2/2 is too much in Legacy.

Given how impressive Vesuvan Drifter seemed, i wonder if there's any merit in playing some copies of an effect specifically to stack your deck for you. Like, now that you can run 4 Sneak Attack, 4 Show and Tell, and 4 Vesuvan Drifters, especially with the aid of Brainstorm and Ponder, finding a way to put the dumb idiots into play seems relatively trivial, so there might be a world where trimming a few copies of the payoff creatures for a few copies of Worldly Tutor is worth it.
What a perfect way to close a trophy league!
Drifter seems like a lot of fun.

I'm wondering if UB Reanimator would want it. Generally, they pivot to S&T game 2, en lieu of Wear/Tear or Serenity. But the lists that I'm finding only run 3 S&T sideboard anyway, so I'm not sure they would want copies 5-8.
@@derekcline950 It would have to be a slower build. Maybe in a really combo heavy meta? It pitches to force and can be a low commit clock if one needs to play control.
That brainstorm on 44:49 was good stuff. I understand the draw this deck has on players, but I wouldn't play it over sharktale or lands.
While I've heard before that you get more views when the title announces that you went 5-0, I've got to admit that it takes a bit of the excitement away because I already know that you're going to win.
Yup. I’ve heard and understand that critique, but ultimately growing the channel benefits everyone who watches more than a spoiled result hurts them. Wish there was a way to do both. I made a whole community post about it if you want to go read it.
I think you could use the 5-0 rank manipulation tactics any time you use a decklist from the MTGO 5-0 dumps. It's a 5-0 list legitimately. Did you 5-0 this specific run? Watch the video to find out. Not dishonest, not spoiling, and itches the "grow the channel" scratch with more frequency.

I wonder if the deck should run 1 Primeval Titan over the blue Cascade creature and then you can run 1 lotus field that you can grab with it.

22:48 Almost your whole deck is a good draw there. Another land lets you defend Sneak Attack against Daze, another Show and Tell or Drifter lets you cast those as threats against Daze, another counter helps you protect. The only thing that's not so great is another big creature and that's at at least another threat for Sneak Attack later.

As a commander player, I looked at vesuvan drifter and wasn't too impressed. In a format where you are allowed to have 4 brainstorms and run monsters like Emrakul and Griselbrand... well that's another story.

I'd need 3 Petals to do that. Atraxa isn't Red.
Archon looks awesome with Drifter. Still not convinced atraxa belongs over Gbrand in sneak and show. Especially a list with Drifter, since atraxa does nothing revealed on the turn it comes in vs Gbrand being a big deal.
in round 2, wouldnt atraxa looking at the top 10 been the safest line? should basically always hit a land and then you get a guaranteed kill that turn and dodge the possibility of a pump spell topdeck
Yeah, SnS is pretty dumb-powerful. Vesuvan Drifter is an awesome juke. I think 1-2 Drifter main and another in the SB messes with your opponents’ game-2/3’s decisions for what they want to fight against. The static scry is the argument to play more copies main.
If you would have had any green black or white source you could fetch up, you could have cast Atraxa game one.
Does containment priest still work if both players show and tell a creature? I think I remember seeing a weird ruling about that.
It should exile both creatures in that case, since it's a symmetrical effect. You might be thinking if Containment Priest is put in through Show and Tell, in which it won't have any effect since it enters at the same time as the other creature, so it won't exile itself or the other monster.
Neither should be exiled since the priest wasn't on the battlefield before it entered

I don’t understand the problem of veil/atraxa. Wouldn’t the archon just make them sac atraxa? Veil doesn’t counter right? Aka, veil is not a problem?
Archon is a black permanent with a triggered ability that targets. Veil doesn't stop Archon from arriving, but it stops the trigger from killing anything.

It would cost me 2 lotus petals just to put it on the stack, where any counterspell answers it. They could also fetch a basic in response and just play through it. Plus I have a sweeper in hand where I'd rather stick the Magus on an empty board.
