heard this a hundred times about 14 years ago and that beat is still in my head - went through university with it drumming on my books. i'm so happy I found this again.
Beating on buckets begin with the Junk Yard band in DC back in 1978. They were a go-go group and one of the best. They made the commercial song Sardines & Pork and Beans. Salt and Pepper sampled this song and others from this go go group. By the way, I see this guy all the time down in Gallery Place. Wow that guy who just joined him has rhythm!
This is the theme song for when I go to basketball games at MCI/Verizon center. The only song you hear. No matter what day you go you only hear this song.
10 out of 10 !! I thought it was good with just the 1st drummer then when the other guy started WoW ! Wish i lived in your part of the world ! where i could see this stuff daily , They say that small children are content with the simplest of things to entertain them, but when you put together a sound like that from used paint buckets WoW!!! I must be a big kid But i love it ! Keep uploading clips like this !
I asked because I do street drumming, and I even want to try it in NYC when I go down there on vacation. But not if there's dozens of really good street drummers. Where do they do it besides the subway stations? The parks maybe?
I think I saw this guy last summer outside of the Smithsonian. Crazy thing was it was a hundred and seven degrees in the middle of July and he's just beatin' away.
4real??.... That was some awesome drummin right there..! PPL could do this if yall got a hard time fingding a job lolz.... I NEVER SAW THAT WHEN I WENT TO D.C LAST YEAR but o well.... GOOD DRUMMIN WHITE DUDE!!!
Thanks. I wouldn't have anything near this guy's set-up. Two buckets at most, not propped up on anything. Nothing much to set up. I was thinking of Washington Sq or Tompkins Pk. But your right. Thanks
How many good street drummers have you seen in NYC? I know (from UA-cam) that there about half-a-dozen who are really quite talented. But is it growing? And are there quite a few good ones? I saw two guys bucket drumming (one might have been Larry Wright) in the fall of 1999, but they weren't in the subway; they were up on the street one night somewhere in midtown.
@Bieji Same thing I couldnt afford drums ......did this as a kid with other house hold items...... do what makes you happy and everything else follows.... and thats goddamn right bieji!
I think Every state Congress and the Senate(and federal) before each session, should have a go go session...of street drums, that way, they can get in synch and get some sH*T done!
