Singer-Songwriter Grace VanderWaal rocks students at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (a polytechnic college) on May 31, 2019 in California's central coast, with an end-of-semister free concert! Grace performed 15 songs in less than an hour (12 originals and 3 covers) and including two of her stunningly beautiful brand new unreleased originals!! This is Grace at her best. Her unique vocals and effervescent personality are only matched by her unparalleled writing abilities.

Clearly
Clearly is not a “cover” of the 1972 song “I Can See Clearly Now” by Johnny Nash. With Nash’s permission, Grace released Clearly as a powerfully emotional re-imagining if his song, with mostly all new lyrics written by Grace and her producers. With her unparalleled vocals and an upbeat triumphant feel, Clearly can be viewed as an anthem for overcoming adversity and finding one’s way from the darkness to the light.

Thanks Fredee...I was aware of some of what you wrote about Grace's version of 'Clearly' but by no means all of it....thanks for the education. I was never that much into Nash's original recording (hey, I was a kid then) but Grace's re-do of it is just a song and vocals that I can't get out of my head. Cannot wait to enjoy all of the incredible music she creates in the future!
@@rickdraeger4321 Don't feel bad - Grace only knew the song as a Claritin commercial before Ido (her producer) brought the idea to her.
I think these college students really loved Grace's singing.
I love how Grace does that jump when singing "all the pain in my sorrow". She times it perfectly with the beat.
Cal Poly is my Ama Mater and I sure wish I had known she was going to play there....woulda made the 5 hour drive. Never get tired of listening to her sing 'Clearly'....amazing.

Grace is so relaxed and confident at this gig - more than I've seen before. She commands the stage. And I love that outfit!
I'm late hearing about her and I'd rather hear her songs than what's on the radio.
we sure have watched her grow up with this song. She helped write it, but then her voice had to grow to really be able to sing it. She seems to take it in stride now.

I think someone should release DVDs of Grace's shows . Bring them to DVD . I think that would be cool
Highly unlikely. HQ multi-camera recording and audio mixing on a live performance would cost a fortune which would never be recouped with sales. Physical discs are too expensive for a project like that - it would have to come out of Grace's pocket.
She's rich she could afford it . She could do it for her fans

Getting good video AND sound at an indoor concert venue is almost impossible, and I don't want to be this preoccupied at #URSB if I can avoid it - we'll see. But I appreciate the sentiment.
@@RunUphillBackwardsDon't 'chu know it! I used to tape weddings and our kids' concerts and plays. The down side is what you said. The up side is that you have that lasting memory well preserved. That being said...Grace is best enjoyed in the moment. Just do your best if you decide to record her. You're a fan. You know we'll take what we can get. And if it's like the ID tour, there will be lots of videos out there.

Who do you think you are Simon Cowell , puttin together another band , then have a band name(Just kidding) . No thank you Grace is a singer song writer , a solo artist , her bands name is , Grace's band. Melissa Dougherty ,Nolan Frank, and Ben Masters. They're awesome though ,Grace raved about them and how important it was to have a band that she could not just perform with but , live together and enjoy each other's company while traveling across the country on tour.
