If you're looking for "best things" you really can't go wrong with The Beatles. Fave Beatle song? Changes with the day, the mood, the weather, what I heard most recently. Since I just watched Mike Pachelli's guitar lesson teaching "Here, There, and Everywhere" I'll go with that. It truly is a beautiful song that never fails to flood me with joy. 💕💖🎶🎸☮🕉

Thanks for sharing your list Mr. G! I think You Won't See Me has risen in popularity over the years, I can't believe they never released it as a single. Things We Said Today is a great example of how Paul was able to right a tune that immediately sounded like it had been around forever. I Need You is one of my very favorite George songs, and I'm Only Sleeping is hypnotic and brilliant. Thanks for a great list!
My new favorites are “If I Fell” and “In My Life”. My old favorites are “Hard Day Night”, “I Want to Hold Your Hand”, “Love Me Do”, “All My Loving”, “Can’t Buy Me Love”, “Eight Days A Week”, “Help!”, “We Can Work It Out”, “ She Was Just Seventeen” “Hey Jude”, “Let It Be”, “The Long And Winding Road”, “Yesterday”. Sorry for the long second list; I just love the Beatles Songs. I was kid during the 60’s and became a Beatles Fan. I’m almost deaf with 2 hearing aids. it hadn’t been easy learning the Titles of The Beatles Songs without the English Captions Technology during the 60’s and 70’s until the 80’s. I’ve been learning the Lyrics via English Captions and I find the fast phrasing in “We Can Work It Out” very hard to sing! I have lot of Beatles Songs to explore. 😻
Those are all great songs! "If I Fell" has a great duet between John and Paul and "In My Life" has such profound lyrics. "We Can Work It Out" is a song that was way ahead of its time and shows how sophisticated the Beatles were, musically and lyrically. Thanks for sharing!
@@7bestthings i also really love those two tracks. "if i fell" is one of those tunes from their early catalogue where you notice that they are a force to be reckoned with, especially in terms of chord changes and harmony, and "we can work it out" has this really timeless sound (you could basically release it any time and it would sound fresh), and mixes perfectly paul's poppy melodic vocals with john's more simple but more emotive sound
So much has been said bout the Beatles. Iconic. I recently had a conversation with a friend about will generations remember certain artists because a lot of what is being done today will be forgotten. However, I see teenagers wearing Beatles and Pink Floyd shirts so you have to be pretty damn good to go from generation to generation. With that said, the Beatles produced a phenomenal backlog in just eight years, the ultimate Beatle song for me is Strawberry Fields Forever. Stellar. Runner ups would be a mile long, songs like And Your Bird Can Sing, Rain, Yes It Is, etc. come to mind but to come with a favorite list is daunting.
Great point, Robrutorecords! There are never too many Beatle lists! Also, "You Know My Name" really shows the fun side of the Beatles. Thanks for watching and thanks for sharing!
Here Comes The Sun was also the most downloaded song when the Beatle’s song catalogue was released on Apple ITunes. For me, “Something” is the best love song of all time. I’ve heard said that John said it’s his favorite Beatle song and Frank Sinatra called it the greatest love song “of the last 50 years”. That said, picking a favorite is difficult. Second for me is “No Reply” because the pain John expresses is so real. Third is “And Your Bird Can Sing” because of the amazing duel lead guitars and Paul’s brilliant bass performance.
Yes that's a great point about Here Comes the Sun and iTunes, thanks for sharing that info. Something is one of the greatest love songs of all time, John and Frank would definitely know! I'm glad to see "No Reply" getting so much respect, I think that song and that album are very underrated. And I love the guitars on "And Your Bird," pure Beatles magic. Thanks for sharing your favorites!
Yes, another great song. I especially like the middle eight, "Life is very short..." and how the music suddenly changes into 3/4 time. Thanks for sharing your favorite!
Impossible to choose. I love, Things We Said Today, for very personal reasons. Paul’s voice has spoken to me since I was seven years old. The real Paul, that is. There will never be another band quite like The Beatles. I feel so fortunate to have grown up with them, in my lifetime.
when i want to really distill the greatness of george's songwriting - but also the greateness of the beatles themselves - into a single statement, it is that george wrote the best two tracks on abbey road, their magnum opus and grande finale: 'something' and 'here comes the sun'. they are easily two of the best songs the beatles ever recorded, and are perfect examples of perfect pop songs - simple (as in no more technical and musically sophisticated than need be) and so "immersing" with no "fat"
I too would put those 2 song in the top ten of the Beatles, and While My Guitar Gently Weeps definitely in the top 20. But I can never come up with one order of the songs that I want to stick with.
George had the most positive song " Here comes the sun " along with one of the most foreboding, a warning and commentary on the human condition and the dangers of not taking human life seriously. "Beware of darkness". With hilarious lines like.. " Watch out now, take care beware of falling swingers.. dropped all around you. I asked a girl a while ago what sort of music she likes.. She said her favourite was.. All things must pass, which I'd never heard... She said it was by George Harrison from the Beatles. I was surprised because it was made about 50 years ago, it's the album I now put on most regularly. George was a dark horse, a complex person with deep insights, genuinely spiritual. In today's chaotic and uncertain world , he's become more relevant than ever, a cult figure, people are looking for answers and they seem to take solace in him.
Very well written, thank you! It's great to see that George Harrison is now recognized for his genius as a songwriter, in the same way John and Paul have been recognized. Beware of Darkness is also a fantastic song, and All Things Must Pass is a masterpiece. Thanks for sharing!
That enormous lead the HCTS has over the next most popular track is unsurprising when you consider how Spotify works. Once a given song has become the most streamed song by an artist, it then becomes the first song that automatically comes up when anyone visits the page, which artificially inflates its perceived popularity. Most people only stick around for one or two songs before moving on to a different artist, so that first song offered is going to get a massive advantage over its closest rivals. This, of course, results in its REAL popularity getting massively boosted through familiarity, and the cycle continues.
@@7bestthings Yeah, the most streamed song for any artist is probably going to have to get to that position in the first instance, naturally, through genuine popularity. But once it’s there, it’s perceived popularity will automatically increase exponentially, and it will become from that point on virtually impossible for even the second most streamed song to ever overtake it. Unless something changes about the way spotify works, HCTS will not only remain the Beatles’ most streamed song forever, but it’s lead over its closest rival will continue to expand indefinitely.
Beatles fan since 1963. A bit surprised by Blackbird on this list. Interestingly, I wouldn't put any of these in my top seven, but I'm not surprised by the other six fans would pick. 7 I Should Have Known Better 6 There's a Place 5. While My Guitar Gently Weeps 4. Things We Said Today 3. In My Life 2. Octopuses Garden 1. She Loves You. There are about 18,005,168,120,000,000 permutations of the 213 Beatles' songs taken 7 at a time so I'd be surprised if there are two identical lists picked by fans.
Thanks for a great list, all great songs! You included songs written by all 4 Beatles. I think "I Should Have Known Better" is also one of the Beatles best songs, it always puts me in a great mood. Thanks as well for doing the high level math!
Of course, my favorite Beatles song is "Hey Jude," because I felt what John and Cynthia's son was going through with their divorce, it was likely a cheer-up song for Julian, as if Paul was saying, "Your parents are getting divorced, but they will still be there for you." The parts I liked on the song was Paul saying, "The movement you need is on your shoulder," he was hesitant to keep it out, but John, "You wouldn't, that's the best part." and the other one being, "You have now found her now go and get her," was saying to move on. The song seem to be more than just about a young boy needing to have is spirits lifted up through his parents divorce, but a song that was around through a lot of trials and tribulations in '68, two assassinations and a lot of riots, it felt the whole audience getting on stage getting out everything they've experience in that rocky year.
Hey Jude is an amazing song, it has so much meaning and everyone can relate to the words. There's a reason why everyone has been singing along with the "Na na na" chorus for the last 55 years! Thanks for your great thoughts!
That guy Bert Russell, cowriter of Twist and Shout, is better known as Bert Berns, for all you record industry fans. He also wrote Piece Of My Heart (Janis Joplin), Tell Him (the Exciters), Hang On Sloopy (The McCoys), Cry Baby (Garnett Mimms), Twenty-Five Miles (Edwin Starr), A little Bit of Soap (The Jarmels), Here Comes the Night (Them) and many others.
great to hear your count down and it was Spot on On too! sure wish the Beatles had One more LP in them as, the follow up LP's by the Fab Three sure had some great ones on them, put together a maybe better LP than Abbey Road ??, did I just say that!
Thank you for your kind words. The Beatles were so talented they had to split up. There was not enough room on a single album for each of them to fully express their creativity. I love their solo albums just as much as the work they did in the sixties. I can't imagine what songs they would have never released if they stayed together. We wouldn't have all the songs on All Things Must Pass, or the full Imagine album or Ram or even Ringo (the album). All brilliant albums. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts!
Thank you so much for your message. I agree with you. The harmonies and the guitares was so great. It was a pleasure for me to watching your video. Greetings from Luxembourg-City.
@@fernandefournier4110 Luxembourg City, that's so awesome! Greetings from Iowa in the middle of the USA! Thank you for your kind words. Also I have always been a big fan of "The Night Before." I love that scene in "Help!"
Asking which is one's favorite Beatle's song is like asking which is one's favorite child. However, I have a special spot in my heart for If I Fell. J and P's incredible harmonies with occasional counter motion movement and the melancholy lyrics make it so endearing.
Yes, it is the impossible question every Beatles fan asks but we all have a hard time answering. If I Fell is one of the great examples of John and Paul's vocal abilities. Thanks for sharing!
I can’t wrap my mind around my favorite Beatle song as that is a incredibly difficult question when to me everything they did was #1 but here goes fav 1 is Revolution followed by While my guitar gently weeps and Glass 🧅. Elinor Rigby, You won’t see me, I will, And , of course Honey pie. I loved it when the Beatles Walked down that staircase singing Your mother should know . +. Here, there, and everywhere. And these are the songs nobody picked, or mentioned.
All great songs, once again showing the incredible variety of the Beatles catalogue. I love the Baroque strings and lyrics of Eleanor Rigby. I agree, Your Mother Should Know was one of the highlights of Magical Mystery Tour along with Walrus and Fool on the Hill. Thanks for watching and sharing your list!
I prefer the ballads : she is leaving home, fool on the hill, eleanor rigby, you never give my money/ the end, while my guitar, a day in the life, penny lane, and so many more... but i must say all the 7 are perfect.
Paul is the only person who has 2 songs as the# 1 song of the year Hey Jude 1968 and Silly love songs 1976 on Wings at the speed of Sound first song side 1 first song side 2 is Let em In
I would have guessed Something was on top - it was the bigger hit out of George's two contributions to Abbey Road, and it's similarly ubiquitous as Yesterday is, plenty of cover versions etc. But there you go. Seems people long as much for the sun as they long for true love. :) Good thing John isn't alive to see how under-represented he is, he would no doubt have been dismayed and gone on to ramble angrily about modern tech. :D

@@k0c1l Something and Here Comes the Sun is a tough choice, both are worthy. It's great to see so much appreciation for George nowadays. Thanks for sharing!
@@k0c1lSomething is also in the top 10 (at least for most popular) so not that bad.. Yes Here Comes The Sun may be a surprise but its super catchy, interesting drum sound and just perfect for spring and good mood playlists. And that Hey Jude, Yesterday and Let It Be are (one of) the most known Beatles songs isn’t new at all.
Only "Here comes the Sun" deserves to be in the Top 7 , where's "Eleanor Rigby" 'Across the Universe" 'Day Tripper'' "Paperback Writer" " "Ticket to Ride " Baby you can drive my Car" Anything but "Let it be" such a plodding mournful depressing Song. As for" Hey jude " it just goes on ,and on on, all that Na Na Na , business bores me silly.
Hey Bulldog is finally getting some of the appreciation it deserves as a great Beatles rocker! I love the Hey Bulldog video also, the Beatles had a lot of fun in the studio.
I was this tall when I died. And I was bigger as a 3-year-old. From over here you look like a rotten house. Blind kid runs fast and eats butter. He's looking for the toilet.
Blackbird , Hey Jude, Lady Madonna, let it Be were not written by James Paul. They were written by Billy Shepard Shears. Pay attention to the old pics and newer. After 66 the Beatles stopped touring. No Paul seen in the studio for six months. It’s sickening that George and John hated Billy the dictator. He used the Beatles for his own gains. In fact was trying to release his own records before the band was ended. Wings sucked. The music has nothing to do with the way James Paul wrote. This was one of biggest scams in history. And still many don’t see it. As the Who wrote “hope we don’t get fooled again”. It took me a long time to figure it out. One day I saw it. There is a lot of history on this. It’s not a conspiracy theory. It happened. I lived through it. I only list to pre 66 Beatles.
Paul McCartney is not dead. He’s alive and well. I saw him live last year. The whole “Paul is Dead” thing is not true, it was never true. Paul McCartney did not die in 1966!
@@bryanmachin3738 it’s not idiocy. He’s a fake. I saw this back in 67. And I was fooled. But little by little you realize. The finger print failure in Japan. Mi5 had to get him out. The lousy wings music. Bunch of crap. Denny lane admitted it wasn’t Jane Paul in wings. Grahm Nash the Who. They all knew. The iso y is in the people that don’t see it. He’s 2 inches taller as well. Go back and look at pre 66 Paul and the guy that stole his identity. The Beatles would still be going if it was for Billy. The biggest sham in history.
The Beatles were and remain one of the most popular rock bands of all time. However, I can’t figure out why they get so much credit? I think they were more popular than great. They have 15-20 great songs and a whole lotta nonsense in their catalogue. Some of the songs on this list prove that. Twist and Shout of course is not their song. Blackbird is super simple and boring The other 5 on this list are truly great songs and I give them credit for that. But if you think about their contemporaries Zeppelin, Stones, Doors, Hendrix, The Who and Floyd- The Beatles simply do not stack up with their level of musicianship, talent and Songwriting
Pues los gustos cambian en 60 años. En 10 generaciones. Pero lo importante es que siguen siendo artistas de actualidad. A ver hasta donde llega esta musica que mi opinion llego para quedarse y seguir siendo escuchada.

My new favorites are “If I Fell” and “In My Life”. My old favorites are “Hard Day Night”,
“I Want to Hold Your Hand”, “Love Me Do”, “All My Loving”,
“Can’t Buy Me Love”, “Eight Days A Week”, “Help!”, “We Can Work It Out”, “ She Was
Just Seventeen” “Hey Jude”,
“Let It Be”, “The Long And Winding Road”, “Yesterday”.
Sorry for the long second list;
I just love the Beatles Songs.
I was kid during the 60’s and
became a Beatles Fan. I’m almost deaf with 2 hearing
aids. it hadn’t been easy learning the Titles of The
Beatles Songs without the
English Captions Technology during the 60’s and 70’s until the 80’s. I’ve been learning the Lyrics via English Captions and I find the fast phrasing in “We Can Work It Out” very hard to sing! I have lot of
Beatles Songs to explore.
All great songs, Strawberry Fields is a masterpiece. Thanks for watching and thanks for sharing!
There can never be too many Beatle lists, more please! Shout out to the best B-side, You Know My Name (Look Up The Number)! Zany brilliance.
My favorite is We can work it out
Yes, another great song. I especially like the middle eight, "Life is very short..." and how the music suddenly changes into 3/4 time. Thanks for sharing your favorite!
yoluve got to hide youre love away
Great song! Help! is a very underrated album!
Impossible to choose. I love, Things We Said Today, for very personal reasons. Paul’s voice has spoken to me since I was seven years old. The real Paul, that is. There will never be another band quite like The Beatles. I feel so fortunate to have grown up with them, in my lifetime.
Things we Said Today is a great song! Thanks for watching and thanks for sharing!
Something is the background music for our wedding video, fits so perfectly.
Great choice! Thanks for watching and sharing!
It’s hard to choose a song but Here Comes the Sun is a joyfulll one, although While my Guitar Gentle Weeps can also be a Number ONE.
Yes, totally agree, Gently Weeps is also deserving. Thanks for watching!
when i want to really distill the greatness of george's songwriting - but also the greateness of the beatles themselves - into a single statement, it is that george wrote the best two tracks on abbey road, their magnum opus and grande finale: 'something' and 'here comes the sun'. they are easily two of the best songs the beatles ever recorded, and are perfect examples of perfect pop songs - simple (as in no more technical and musically sophisticated than need be) and so "immersing" with no "fat"
I too would put those 2 song in the top ten of the Beatles, and While My Guitar Gently Weeps definitely in the top 20. But I can never come up with one order of the songs that I want to stick with.
You never give me your money , And golden slumbers. Are the best … I M H O. And Abby road is the best album . And I have been listening since 1970 .
@@joetamaccio9475 I love the Abbey Road Medley, that's a great choice!
George had the most positive song
" Here comes the sun "
along with one of the most foreboding,
a warning and commentary on the human condition and the dangers of not taking human life seriously.
I like the color photo of George, Paul and John together when they were very young. Debatable about the song choices here but all good classic songs.
Thanks, I like that photo as well. It's amazing to see them so young! Thanks for watching and thanks for sharing!
Till there was you, PS I love you and the long and winding road
Thanks for watching and thanks for your list! I always loved the guitar work on Till There Was You, thanks for sharing!
Favorite Beatles song is very difficult, but I love Something.
A fantastic song by George. Thanks for watching and thanks for sharing!
That's a really great insight. The more popular a song is on Spotify, the most likely it is to be played. Thanks for watching!
That is some interesting information I didn't know. Thanks for the info!
great to hear your count down and it was Spot on On too! sure wish the Beatles had One more LP in them as, the follow up LP's by the Fab Three sure had some great ones on them, put together a maybe better LP than Abbey Road ??, did I just say that!
My fave is get back by the Beatles
Great choice! Thanks for watching!
My favorite Beatles song is: Nowhere Man. You got the hide. The night before. Rain and Let it be.
Great choices! I love the harmonies and guitars on Nowhere Man. Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for your message. I agree with you. The harmonies and the guitares was so great. It was a pleasure for me to watching your video. Greetings from Luxembourg-City.

Ma all-time favorite Beatles songs are : " Ticket to ride " and " Nowhere man ".
Both great songs! I love the lyrics to Nowhere Man. Thanks for sharing!
George writes two great songs that he recorded as a Beatle and everyone is amazed.
Thanks for watching!
My default answer is "In My Life", but in reality, it's "Hey Bulldog".
‘If I fell’ makes me cry when listening to that masterpiece. For almost 60 years…

BOY THEM BEATLES WERE ECLECTIC ! 🤡 🌈👁️🥕❤
Eclectic is a really good word, no one had as much variety in their music as the Beatles! Thanks for a great (and really thorough) list!
Is there anything NOT on your list?
I'm SO happy for Dahni Harrison! #1👍👏

I prefer the ballads : she is leaving home, fool on the hill, eleanor rigby, you never give my money/ the end, while my guitar, a day in the life, penny lane, and so many more... but i must say all the 7 are perfect.
Yes the Beatles wrote some of the most beautiful ballads of all time. Eleanor Rigby is such a powerful song. Thank you for watching!
Paul is the only person who has 2 songs as the# 1 song of the year Hey Jude 1968 and Silly love songs 1976 on Wings at the speed of Sound first song side 1 first song side 2 is Let em In

Kudos for correctly pronouncing Moog.
Thanks Richard! I'm pretty sure I had to look that up! Thanks for watching!
The great irony is that not only is the number one song was written by George, but also that Lennon only penned one of the most popular songs.
The Beatles had three genius songwriters, that's what truly sets them apart from every band. Thanks for sharing!
Hey Jude. She's Leaving Home. Paperback Writer. Hey Bulldog. Old Brown Shoe. Blackbird. I am the Walrus.
Great songs! Thanks for sharing!
actually "Something" is number 11 atm but just in the 10 most popular this month
Thanks for the info!
@@7bestthings on kworb (beatles kworb spotify top songs) is the full up to date list :)
Yes, Something is one of the most popular and most covered love songs of all time. The Beatles have so many great songs, it's hard to believe all the amazing songs that are not on this list. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts!
Some would argue John's most well-known, most popular song is the one from his post-Beatle work: Imagine
Twist & Shout actually had two takes, but they decided on take 1.
Thanks for the info and thanks for watching!

Funny how they are all McCartney songs., even though John may have joined in.

George got over John and Paul in Spotify but john has only onde song among these seven , there is one cover and Paul has 4 to one of them.

When asked if Ringo was the best drummer in the world , John answered "He's not even the best drummer in the Beatles"

Congratulations to the beatles, but it also puzzles me about the current generation music taste. There are some worthier Beatle songs, right?
The Beatles have so many great songs that no matter which songs made the list, there are always worthy songs that did not make the list. If you get.a chance, let me know what songs you think should have made the list. Thanks for watching!
@@7bestthings I'm not questioning the Beatles, but the current generation taste of music. If Spotify existed 30 years ago, I guess the list would be different. @@k0c1lSomething is also in the top 10 (at least for most popular) so not that bad.. Yes Here Comes The Sun may be a surprise but its super catchy, interesting drum sound and just perfect for spring and good mood playlists. This is gonna be another criticism of McCartney, is it?
Yesterday
An awesome song! Thanks for sharing!
Only "Here comes the Sun" deserves to be in the Top 7 , where's "Eleanor Rigby" 'Across the Universe" 'Day Tripper'' "Paperback Writer" " "Ticket to Ride " Baby you can drive my Car"

Thanks for watching!
Paul McCartney is not dead. He’s alive and well. I saw him live last year. The whole “Paul is Dead” thing is not true, it was never true. Paul McCartney did not die in 1966!
@@benwilliams647That twit has a big mental problem she/he keeps bellowing this rubbish about Paul everywhere. Apologies 🤡
Will this idiocy never die?
Blackbird is super simple and boring
The other 5 on this list are truly great songs and I give them credit for that. But if you think about their contemporaries
Zeppelin, Stones, Doors, Hendrix, The Who and Floyd- The Beatles simply do not stack up with their level of musicianship, talent and Songwriting
