    First thank you for this video. This helped me greatly. Things I would suggest. 1) tape filters more than 1 corner they sled slightly when trying to line up with top screen pegs on reinstall. This created a minor quarter inch dark area at the top left bezel. 2 - I didn't not cut new white card stock for light reflector. I got darken areas around the led strips. Only noticable on pictures with lighter colors or all same color, but still annoys me. Not worth taking it apart now it's reassembled and working. If I was to ever redo I would cut new cardstock to fit around each led and patch it in with tape. I understand reason for cutting it as it would be near impossible to get all 5 strips in exact placement for paper since it would have to match opening for plastic led covers. 3 - ribbon cable connectors on mine the brackets lift up to release at least on my tv. 4 - I reinstalled bezel screws before flipping tv back over on reinstall that seemed safer than waiting until the end. Overall I'm pleased with my $40 fix. Once again thank you for this video.

    Follow up on this repair, can totally see the cut outs of the reflector when watching bright or dark videos... I figured between the diffusing lenses and the filter sheets that it wouldn't matter but it does. Don't cut out the reflector sheet people unless that doesn't matter to you. Also, if you are changing LEDs on the bars, make sure your diffusing lenses is completely centered and flush when re-adhering it to the bar.

      I wonder if after you are done if you had stuck back the pieces you cut with the double sided tape would it eliminate that issue..... at the very least I would think it would minimize it...the effect..

      @@jasond2831 I kept all the cut out scratches of paper so I just stuck them to the LED bars with some sticky tack, but any adhesive would work; that fixed the cutout problem. My biggest problem with this TV is the LEDs slowly have been burning out one by one so ive had to take this tv apart multiple times now and the replacement leds are not the same color as the original so it is noticeable regardless. overall it doesnt ruin the tv watching experience but it is noticeable if i really look at it. This tv was defiantly designed to die early, planed obsolescence and all...

      the ribbon wire connecting the tcon board to the long boards taped have probably lost connection. make sure that the ribbon connector is fully seated inside of the tcon seat.

    • @carlosk8103
      @carlosk8103 2 роки тому

      I believe you might have messed up the ribbon connectors that go to the screen... If you still have/had the Tv you could check by wiggling each one if it solves your problem then it's one of the connectors unfortunately these are not fixable....so if it is that it's trash...

    I have a fairly new Hisense that just died, no pic or sound just red light blinking,what could it be,I did all the unplug stuff & remote stuff but nothing,main board maybe,seems to be a problem with these junky tv's

    • @billwithadart
      @billwithadart Рік тому +1

      Hey I'm having the exact same issue. I ended up asking on reddit. Someone there said with Hisense TVs they go into a shutdown mode when bad LEDs are detected. You can test this by hooking a meter up to the led lead off the power board and measuring voltage when you turn the TV on. Mine went up to 220v DC then slowly dropped back to 0v. I don't know for sure but I assume the board is detecting there is an open circuit (infinite resistance) which is replicated when you disconnect the LED lead and test

      @billwithadart Рік тому

      @Joe Hiatt look for the board that the wall plug connects into. The led lead is small and has 2 wires, should be a red and a black. Mine also said XP702 next to it

      @@billwithadart Have 2 ribbon wires on bottom that go into a smaller board ,the others go to speakers, theres a red/white that plugs into the power board up top with a tag #hh1214709 that goes into where the led cavity so probably it,so how do I check with my meter ?

    • @billwithadart
      @billwithadart Рік тому

      @Joe Hiatt yep that's it. Unplug it and test the 2 terminals on the board side. Plug TV in and check voltage when you turn it on. Should see it rise up to 200 then fall which I guess means leds are bad, idk tho I'm just some guy on the internet

      Because this model uses so much adhesives behind the reflector that you have a higher chance of ripping it than getting it off. I was working on a similar model and trying to get this off. When watching this video, I was like, why didn't i think of that. Genius!
