    I followed all the TH2 mods you posted- ELRS Rx (similar to CRSF wiring/setup), Caddx Baby Ratel 2, and finally the Eachine Nano Vtx with Foxeer Lollipop micro antenna. Everything went off quite smoothly. Excellent tutorials/walkthroughs, thanks! I am having one issue - I do not have an OSD on the goggle view somehow. Have not spent time debugging it yet. Thought I would check with you first and see if it was something you came across too. ETA: Solved the problem. The OSD page in Betaflight had it as NTSC but the camera was on PAL. Once I matched them to the same format, the OSD started showing up in the goggle view :)

    Did the same VTX replacement on my 2nd TH (first model but with v2 Frame) but removed the board from the frame before removing the old VTX. Pretty scary to watch putting your iron with solder blindly underneath ;). Was hoping for some useful motor sounds with the micro but mostly I only get noise and very bad audio quality. And it gets hot like hell, even on 25mW so i added a small heatsink which helps a bit. But definitely way better than the original 25mW Emax VTX. I put my lollipop out of the back under the XT30 instead, not yet tested if this affects range. Nice range in your flight, unfortunately we are not allowed to go higher than 25mW in our country.

    • @Stevieboyfpv
      @Stevieboyfpv  Рік тому +1

      Only looks blindly from the camera overhead I was much lower 😉 i done so many of these now both on and off the frame on the final upgrade vid changing frames and motors I had a tpu made to send the antenna out the back which is deff preferable, yeh 25mw here aswell just went higher for purpose of the test and to demonstrate the upgrade as I was miles from anything to interfere with.

    Stevie boy, I really like what you did with the Tiny Hawk 2 freestyle an all the cool improvements you did in all, great job bro! I also did a lot of cool new improvements to my tiny hawk 2 freestyle as well, but I have trouble when it comes to soldering tiny small connections because I have a shaken hand syndrome and it makes it very difficult for me to solder tiny little projects like these an it sucks!

    • @Stevieboyfpv
      @Stevieboyfpv  2 роки тому +1

      Hey man! Thanks dude! Its great you've still made progressions inspite of the shakes! I can imagine how much that sucks! I have a few physical challenges of my own. Maybe a small platform for your hand to rest on and brace against could help at least a little. Take care man 🙏🏼🙏🏼

      @@Stevieboyfpv thank you bro I appreciate that, one of the fixes I did with the TinyHawk 2 was the little plastic shield that you put on the inside bottom of your Tiny Hawk 2 freestyle but I put mine on the outside and just made a stencil of the exact shape of the bottom hole of the platform of the drone and then just mounted it with the four screws that were already there, and it laid perfect and you can’t even tell but still protects the drone circuitry board. An made 4 landing gear out of zip ties which works pretty easily and you can adjust them to the size that you want it to land on without having them too big or too small and if one of them breaks it’s so easy to pop another zip tie in a loop and wrap it around or make another one in seconds out in the field.

    seen the progression and appreciate the vids you put out lots to learn here emax should of build it like you did amazing I want one like yours that’s bnf hope there next th3 is similar to yours, but after all said and done this $150 micro would end up being like a $300-$400, weak vrx/rx/fc eventually one will have to upgrade it,difficult to work on, it’s cheaper to get the frame and build it the way you want and more $$ in your pocket and more time in the air ,was going to get this th2 but decided to go with Geprc phantom,not made of proprietary parts better build/tune easy work/upgrade on,once I understand n learn to solder better, I would build on a frame kit and learn from your vid, thanx

    This is the drone I really want, I currently have the DJI FPV but I'm not hitting tiny gaps and stuff with it. I think it's between this and dealing with Analog, or going for the BabyHawk2 HD and getting a good Remote. Good video man! One day I'll be brave enough to put my own together, but for now I'm sticking to BNF.

      ua-cam.com/video/DJVg6ZeSiAw/v-deo.html
      Its such a fun quad! And I think after flying the bulk of the dji fpv you will find it soooo small and maneuverable. I've always used the radiomaster tx16s which I love so I cant really advise or comment on all the other top controllers out there.Thanks for the comment! Happy flying!

      @@Stevieboyfpv I haven’t, but I will go do that now! Yeah I’d like something compatible with things I already have so the BabyHawk has had my eye. I just know starting out in Digital, I will not enjoy analog 😅 But as far as Remote, I was looking at getting the DJI v1, but would the tx16 or even tx12 work out of the box with it? I know eventually I’ll fly something that isn’t DJI, I got addicted to this hobby quick! But I also don’t wanna end up limiting myself to just a certain product line. I know you can get an analog patch for the goggles, so I would like to make sure my Radio will be well suited for many things, rather than just the one.

      @@IronChi3f117 getting a multi protocol radio will allow you to connect to lots of recievers and allow plug ins on the back for crossfire and elrs I would personally reccomend this if ad you say you don't want to get locked in as getting the dji transmitter would do. Research watch review videos make a good choice thats right for your needs. I bought the radiomaster tx16s as I could programme all my quads to fly with it I have some on frsky and some on crossfire some hd some analogue over 20 in total. • @Stevieboyfpv
      @Stevieboyfpv  2 роки тому +1

      Yeh for sure protection, Leds, crossfire and a separate vtx with lollipop antenna adds weight its always a trade off. I still get 4-5.5mins off a 650mah flight style and weather related

      @ifeetz7612 2 роки тому +2

      @@Stevieboyfpv Well, that seems to be just fine then. With all of that, if you are still able to pull 5 min flights, then that is great. I remember you helping me a while back, after I had burned up a couple of THF2 flight controllers, and I was trying to get a successful build, and you have helped me a lot, so thanks! Now, I have successfully built a THF2, along with several other larger 5" drones. I have just recently stuck a caddx vista on my Eachine Tyro 79s, and I love that little drone. It is super quick and punchy, and it seems to handle more like my 5" drones, than a 3". Thanks for another informative video my friend:)

      @@ifeetz7612 it always depends what you want the quad for aswell I made the tinyhawk upgrade series to save people from making some of the mistakes i made on my learning journey and to be able to pick and choose the upgrade for them to get what they wanted or needed from it. As this one sits it can just handle a good beating now and has an rx and vtx signal to cope with most challenges all the changes setting people up with some skills to go for the bigger builds learning from a cheap one. Its not built for long flights as it sits anymore though but 4-5.5 isn't too bad so its not a bad trade. Yes I remember! Good to hear that all worked out for you and excellent you've been on and enjoying the bigger builds! Sooo satisfying isn't it 😁 nothing like a 5" a completely different world!
