    I would definitely suggest Zip tieing the antenna to the top plate because if you pull the antenna to the right side it will put a lot of tension on your antenna connector 😁👍

      Hi jonny, i use a zd-929c adjustable soldering iron with various size tips depending on the job. If you are going to get into fpv a good soldering iron is a must. I use a soldering iron
      Sponge
      Brass wool
      Tip refresher crystals
      Solder paste
      All to keep my tips in good condition as this is essential! I use flux core solder and good quality soldering makes a big difference so don't buy the cheapest.

      @@Stevieboyfpv thank you so much for the reply I appreciate the info. I decided that I probably need a bigger faster quad. I have a lot of land and I’m afraid I’d grow out of anything too small very quickly lol. I think I’ve landed on the iflight nazgul5 v2 5” 6s freestyle with the elrs receiver. Although 6s may sound like a bit much for my first fpv quad, I’m not a complete stranger to quads, helicopters, and rc cars and I have enough land out here I think I could figure it out. I’ve strayed away from the “kit” that way I can have a good transmitter and googles for any drone. I think the nazgul5 v2 5” 6s will be a good fit for me and be a good quad to grow into and last me a bit hopefully. Anyways think you again for the reply! You’re the man! I would love to hear what you think about my decision to go with the nazgul 5” quad instead. Also I really enjoyed all of the build videos on the tiny hawk and they got me pumped up to learn how to solder. Although I’ve decided on the nazgul5 5” I think the tiny hawk may still have a place in my collection lol I’m afraid the nazgul5 may be the first of many quads.

Have the broke in or out somewhere? This would be a huge help for my grandpa as he is getting older and it would be a blast in the process. If I were you as your new if you do this mod with the vtx antenna maybe do the direct solder method like the original antenna is soldered like I do in the rx antenna mod for both as the plug method is pretty hard! @@CptRadical excellent! Well done doing the plug conversion 👌 not an easy task so congrats! And sounds like a great range increase for a built up area with interference 😁 there is no comparing my naked gopro to the inta360go...maybe the go 2 with nd filters gets closer but the weight is the same the go is lighter and the tinthawk can handle it was better and keep a flight time worth flying. I have the go 1 as I bought one when they came out and on micro analogue quads like the tinyhawk 2 it give me recordable HD stabilised footage for 5 mins at a time and I just appreciate that for what it is their cheaper to get hold of now aswell. I think unless you are going for a bigger quad the go is the heaviest I would go for on th e tinyhawk...but! There is also frames avaliable to transfer the tiny components over to which would allow a motor size increase which could possibly allow it to carry more weight like a go 2 or naked gopro as the current frame only allows 3 bolt motors limiting you to basically stock. • @Stevieboyfpv
      @Stevieboyfpv  6 місяців тому +1

      Thats the choice, different antennas for different results hence the video.
      You will more than likely be running "rhcp" antennas. On goggles and the drone, they have to match whatever is on the goggles must be on the drone. From factory tinyhawk 2's have no connectors on the drone, this is removed and soldered direct. This video shows installing a "ufl" plug instead of direct solder. This is a very difficult job and not essential to upgrading the antenna. The new antenna could be direct soldered easilly instead. The antennas come in "whips" "dipoles" "patches" and lollipops i sugest watching a video explaimg antennas for more detail from j Bardwell but in this video I use a micro lollipop as lollipops are omni directional and so transmitting in a 360 degree field as opposed to directional. I use omni directional on the quad and on my goggles have 2 omni directional one patch "directional" and a coil "long range directional but small field. Which connector for both goggles and quad are specific to the goggles and the transmitter and so these have to be known before buying research this through an fpv antennas video for compete clarity.

      @@Stevieboyfpv woah, lon gest reply anybody ever did to me !!!!! amazing. I understand the point, but is so boring to always do research for anything in this hobby, i'd like to have a friend that knows everything like you and getting help in real lif e lol lol anyway, why you chose plug instead of direct solder? to change antennas in case it does not work good?

      @@swimbeyonder the small quad antennas come with micro ufl connectors and the same on a lot of the vtx transmitter boards so it just made it easier for the future but on this quad there is no actual need for the plug and direct soldering is way way easier and a solid connection.

      The process for attaching the reciever is the same as my crossfire video for this one, I'm all in on crossfire for like 15 quads can't see me shelling out for express lrs for a while. There are a few video out there on changing the vtx on this one 👍

    Hello, could you help me with something please. So, recently I have accidentally burned 2 different FC boards on my Tiny Hawk Freestyle 2! I solder all my motors, and then check all joints and they are very clean. I plug in my two 1s batteries to the pig tail, and the drone chimes up as normal and all is well. I then go to EMAX and get the proper THF2 CLI command for my new flight controller, and go into Beta Flight uploading it to the drone, again all is successful. I bind to the original EMAX E-6 radio, and it is bound. Now, when I give the drone about 1/4 throttle.......it throttles up very high, loses control and flips off the table. I try it a few more times and same conclusion, but now......the smoke is let out of my FC:( DO YOU KNOW IF I need to set the new FC to 2s lipo batteries before trying to fly it? It seems like that is what is going on, because if I was using two 1s(2s total) and the drone is set for 1s, wouldn't that possibly cause this issue? Any advice you have would be very helpful, thanks:):):)

      When you have 1st soldered the wires to the board have you armed it without the props on to check that your motors are all going in the right direction? Looking for above wity the quad facing away. Front right anti clockwise front left clockwise back left clockwise back right anti clockwise? If they are not correct change the wire soldering by swapping the 2 outer wired over as in there are 3 wires we will call a b c if the motor is spinning the wrong way swap a and c.

      @@Stevieboyfpv I use BLHELI to change motor direction. Isn't that ok to do it that way, or should I unsolder and resolder?

      @ifeetz7612 3 роки тому

      @@Stevieboyfpv Yes, all my motors were spinning in correct direction. But, even so......motor direction would not have to do with me giving the drone about 1/4 throttle.......and then watching it continue to climb to 3/4 throttle....and flip out. Also, once the drone reaches a certain acceleration it vibrates and starts shaking back and forth on the table(no props on at this point). But here is the link to the exact FC I received twice, and, as you will notice they ONLY provide a single 1s battery cable. So, it made me think that the board as is, was somehow setup in Beta Flight for 1s. www.racedayquads.com/products/emax-tinyhawk-ii-aio-flight-controller-esc-vtx-rx?currency=USD&variant=31468255838321&gclid=Cj0KCQjwkbuKBhDRARIsAALysV7Z6XosaDlco_Nod8BnT9GVKhcBuDKfUyJMmruldLd_PPvRYmxcJhcaAjC6EALw_wcB

      I was feeling for any movement, if it couldn't handle my nails gently tweaking it then it deff wouldn't handle the antenna being popped on and off which is an actual tugging motion. You would have to pick much much harder than I did to pull the pads off with 3 solder points holding it unless you had cooked the pads when soldering.
