55+ and learned how to drop in 3 weeks ago! Freedom feeling!
I love being at the skatepark when a kid drops in for the first time--all the cheering and high fives make such a big, happy memory that lasts forever for the kid. Saved the video for when my kids are ready--they're well on their way!

Thirty plus years later, I still remember waking up on the flat bottom with a big goose egg on my head after my first drop in attempt. Such an easy thing to do once you do it a couple of times but it is so intimidating until you do it.

Keeping your back wheels behind the “coping” of a bank can get you to commit all your weight onto your front foot to overcome to lip of the bank. Helped me commit more of my weight forward. I naturally slip back cuz of scoliosis and just keeping my hips over my back foot a bit more so this helped me learn to shift my hips back to between the bolts
Yes same thing is on the scooter as well
This is just my take on teaching peeps on how to Drop in..
1st.. have a feel for the ramp wether its a Quarte pipe or Halfpipe. Pump on it few times..
2nd.. when goin up Fakie up the ramp, learn to lift up your Front wheels so you'll have a little bit of feel on your wheels lifted up then coming down from a fakie position..
3rd.. if you're now comfortable doin those, go up the Coping, set your Tail.. Hold the Nose of your Board then Stomp on it downwards, feelin the Transition.. its ok to fall forward coz atleast you'll see where ur goin. Just avoid stopping on your Balance once you step down on your board.. Commit! :)
