Ok, two things: if you know who Marilyn Monroe is ,the girl dressed up like her in the video with the white dress and blonde hair. That's who he is singing about. And Rick Allen back before his car crash ,he still had his left arm. They were all really young then. Great song!!!.... 🔥
Kay Kent was the Marilyn Monroe actress. She committed suicide just like Marilyn in 1989.
@@normanhoward8862 I believe their was something more about Marilyn she knew a lot of things on the inside believe it was more than a suicidal
"If you know who Marilyn Monroe is"...really ?
Another 1980's rock anthem! What a classic.
I love Def Leppard and the older stuff like this is 🔥.
I understand why the next album was so big. But, this was their best album, IMO.
I was 15 when this album came out. what a great time that was! thanks for the upload!
I was 14. What a great time and the music was the best!
Damn both of you are so lucky! Having the purest experience of music from back in the day and at its finest. That’s awesome!
Hmm, I was twelve. Best decade ever.
I love the harmony of all their voices together not just the lead. They're so great and so fun. I was a LOT younger when this came out but I can still head bang. 😆lol
Their harmonies have always been the draw to Def Leppard for me. Musically a lot of their stuff is fairly simplistic, but fabulous at the same time. The harmonies always kill.
One of the greatest rock songs from the 80’s.
Oh man, we all loved this song & then Rick lost his arm & everyone fell in love with Def Leopard for REAL, y’all.
Not liking the fact he lost his arm, but loving they came back with him after that. :)
def leppard
You need to react to "Foolin" & "Rock of Ages" Just a few other Def Leppard classics that you may enjoy!!
Rock of ages is my all time favorite 🔥🔥🔥
LOVE Def Leppard!!!!!!!! They have a unique, special sound and yes, they harmonize a lot. Please check out Animal next!
After Rick Allen's accident he relearned drums. Incorporated his left foot in place of his left hand. Had he picked up that ability when he had all four limbs he definitely would be considered one of the best drummers ever.
He is considered one of the best drummers in rock history
But, totally get what’re saying
I agree! He would’ve been in another stratosphere
Peace On Ya 😊✌️🎶
I agree. He would have been and Neil Peart and Bonzo's level had he been able to incorporate that with all four limbs. As it is, he is still pretty high on the list.
@@Rebelrocker69 No. Just no.
I think this is well before Rick Allen's accident..I think this is from their second(3rd?) album"Pyromania"..this album was HUGE when I was a kid...much credit to be given for not replacing him.One armed drummers are not common..Def Leppard is one of the premier metal acts of the 80s,90s.RIP Steve Clark...crashed and burned, like so many others
@@raymo6795
Dec.1984 is when Rick had his accident.
Yeah, I loved me some Def Leppard back in the day, still do! This song is about Joe Elliott's boy crush he had on Marilyn Monroe....I don't blame him 😍
my favorite band. I have them tattooed on my back. ever since 1983, I heard Rock Of Ages. and fell in love...
I have a def Leppard tattoo also ❤️
Went to this tour. It was when they first became BIG and they were great. I was 16 then. I seen them a few years later when Pour Some Sugar on Me came out and they were still FIRE. One of the best LIVE bands . ❤♥️👍
Def Leopard was another favorite of mine and still is! I'm 61 and rocked with them back then and rock with them now🎸🤘
def leppard
I'm 28 years old so yes there are young ppl out here who adore Def Leppard as well!
O this right here!!! Yaaaaassss!!!! Loved me some Def Leppard! This was a huge hit!
Absolutely love this band.
A lot of great songs to pick from.
the arrangement of this classic banger is simply amazing. it never sounds generic. really glad you reacted and see the greatness of this song
More Def Leppard to try out is "Bringing on the Heartbreak" and "Love Bites"
Great Job, congrats from Brazil... If you accept Def Leppard suggestion's, please react :
A) Foolin'
B) Bringing on the heartbreak.
C) Love Bites
Thanks !!
I was obsessed with this band in high school (early 80's). Thank you for the trip down memory lane. ❤️❤️
Same,. I mean OBSESSED~
I MEAN RUNNING HOME TO PLAY IT as quick as possible~
Listening to the whole album 20 straight times and not skipping a Song~
Def Leppard is a great band with so many bangers! I've seen them in concert 3 times. They're amazing in concert. This is definitely one of my favorite 80's bands. My era of music was the best! 80's girl right here!
The fact that the lead singer is best friends with Dr. Brian May drives home his authenticity & heart!!
Thanks for reacting to Photograph! For me Pyromania will always be their best album. Just awesome.
Dive deeper....the best is yet to come...album is AWESOME!!
How I love this band
This was such a great album. I was in high school when this came out. The entire album is fantastic!
The women ADORE these guys!
One of the best bands ever!
I was 12 when the drummer was 15 and Joe/singer was 18
Totally grew up with these guys
Joe Elliott was my husband for 2 decades! 😂😂😂😂✌️🎶
I hear ya❣‼‼‼‼‼
From Linda, not Richard!🤣
This song is as perfect as a classic rock song could be. One of my GF and my favorite songs
40 plus year legends…still around, too.Great band from England.Watch later videos and see the drummer killing it with one arm. They rigged a drum set up that he could play after he lost his left arm.Trythe song” Foolin”…great like this one.
Love this!!! One of my all time favorite bands. I wore out cassette tapes listening to them back then. Nice reaction!
Same. Tape would get stuck in the player, had to tape it,then use a pencil to reel the 20ft of tape back in.Thank God for CD's lol
That chorus is 🔥…. No doubt
This song was friggin HUGE. I bought it when it first came out....on cassette tape. Jesus I'm old.
'Pyromania' is one of the greatest rock albums of all time. Unfortunately after this album their drummer Rick Allen lost an arm in a car accident, but he managed to come back and create a new drum setup to continue playing with the band. They then went on to release their next album 'Hysteria'. I wasn't as much a fan as 'Hysteria' was more commercial and pop with songs like 'Pour some sugar on me' but it was a hit.
when the drummer has two arms and phil had his shirt on
They are too awesome!!
joe elliot has a great voice.
just a cool voice
That's what a Rock Band looks like! Their stuff totally holds up and they are still looking great and going strong! Great live band!
This is the perfect example of the 80s in one video! Try their video for Let it go. A little harder sound for them.
This is my favorite song of theirs. They started going a little more poppy after this album.
Love these guys!
Beautiful song and the vocals are just amazing. His voice is just fantastic.
He screams the whole time and it's like just beautiful melodicism~
You can't find ANYTHING like that today,.NOTHING~
Guys Scream but it just sounds like Screamin'~
Should hear this live, seen them six tmes.❤
This was the song that broke it wide open for me. Heard it on the radio, was at Tower records that afternoon, then problem.. on through the night and high 'n dry were the only ones on the shelf. Luckily, a clerk was able to find a box which had pyromania in it. Went from heartbreak to happiness in less than a second.
British of course.
We ROCK!!
One of the best hard rock songs ever. I was three when it came out. Was my favorite until I was 20.....it’s still top 3-5, I can listen to it every week
Yessssss one do my favorite songs of all time!!! ❤️😄🔥
I luv your reactions You guys gotta turn your volume all the way up so we can crank it up on our end. Thx for rockin us out guys!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Killin' them softly with his song...
Passion killer😂😂😂😂😂😂
Some more Def Leppard: 'High and Dry (Saturday Night)', 'Bringin' on the Heartache', 'Rock of Ages'
You can Never describe what it was like to be 15 and listening to this Music and going to these Concerts every other week,.
It was just a High School lifestyle Shared by a100 other kids that just couldn't Wait,..to see and hear what will come out Next,.
It was truly an Amazing time to be Alive and NO ONE would EVER change it that lived it~
These guys LIVED for the Music,.It CAN'T be understated,.
That's why when you hear it there isn't ONE NOTE you would change on the Entire Album,.
It's crazy to even think that Anything CLOSE to something like this could happen today~
IMPOSSIBLE~
This was before Rick Allen lost his arm and it’s one of the few songs I like from their early days. I actually like their stuff they put out after the accident more which is amazing that they sound better with a one armed drummer then they did when he had two arms. Part of it is the fact that they stayed together after Rick Allen’s accident and didn’t just drop him, they showed loyalty.
This album came out when I was 15 I was lucky to have grown up with this stuff.
Listen, I was obsessed with Def Leppard growing up. I fucking love to band so much!
Def Leppard is my favorite band! Please react to "Hysteria" and "Animal". ❤️
I’ve seen these guys live 3 times and they put on a great show every time. This is a fave and brings up so many memories. Thanks! 🔥🔥💖💖
Love this song and music video. 🙂
Both are awesome.
This was a one of the first contributions to the 80's video age/metal genre. "Pour some sugar" came later after the drummer got into a car wreck & LOST HIS ARM! they custom built a drum set & They came back with the album Hysteria with the sing "Pour some sugar" on it. Solid album of music & it was a really good show. Rick the drummer did great with one arm. I have two and it isn't easy :)
This song was #1 on the charts forever the year I graduated high school... and I swear it was in the top 40 all year.
You already know who it is....the song is about Marilyn Monroe. The last video image is a woman dressed up just like one of her iconic photographed images. 👍😁👍
My favorite band of all time. I just saw them on tour THIS YEAR in Kansas City and they are still just as amazing and fun to watch!!! Look up recent vids of this years stadium tour, they still got it!
Gotta do Too Late for Love. My all time favorite from Def Leppard
Lots of hits from this group. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame a couple years ago.
It is about Marilyn Monroe. And they are still playing. Great concert XOXO Brandi Modrak.
One of the best albums ever made. Aint a bad song on it
High n Dry, On Through the Night and Pyromania were their three best albums and I still have all three cassettes
In the 80’s I wore this cassette out! 😊
It’s a great song…harmonizing and the premise of the song. Back in the day…that’s all you had was a photograph y’all! It still rocks
He’s referring to a type of photograph commonly found in gentlemen’s “special interest” literature.
RIP Steve you are missed Brandi Modrak XOXO means hugs and Kisses.
should hit 100k this weekend.
I miss the 80's days in the Navy...walking 2 blocks to wash my laundry listening to this song on my cassette player
This is before Rick Allen(the drummer lost his arm in a car accident.) Total. Badass to come back from that.
One of top rock bands of all time . Even after drummer lost an arm. He still never missed a beat
Great reaction. Please keep the 80s metal reactions coming.
Soon! My 2nd favorite. Never miss a concert each year! If you haven’t seem them live...you haven’t lived!!💋
This was their 80s "ode to das memory of Marilyn Monroe".
Her mysterious death was a sadness suffered by billions of people all over das world
almost heartfelt as much as Princess Diana.
Good reaction. Auf Wiedersehen :-)
Your reactions were too fun!! 😂🤣👍
Cowbell is so good in this tune! Love Def Leppard. Me and my girls band back in the 80s in high school! The whole Hysteria album blasts me back to those days. So good.
There 1 of few rock bands that still tour, took my kids about 5 years ago, it was Tesla, Styx, and Def Leppard. It was awesome and we had a blast. They were like 7 and 6 but knew the songs and words they rocked made their daddy proud.
14 yrs old and at my boyfriends house...he played it on the record player. Yeppp original vinyl...omgoodness gracious alive.
“Back in da day, my nickname was ‘Passion Killer’” 😂😂😂
Before Rick Allen(Drummer) lost arm(still playing) and passing of Steve.....Classic....talented...can't believe this among sooo many others are CLASSIC ROCK....lol (i'm 53 yrs. seasoned)
Drummer's got both his mitts in this track.
But he didn’t drum on it. Mutt wanted the electronic drum sound on pyromania/ Rick only played some snares.
One interpretation of the song is that they didn't like the early death of Marilyn Monroe and thought the paparazzi hounded her too much, wanting a photograph. So they don't want a photograph of her, they'd have rather she lived.
Their harmonizing is what really makes their music special and dynamic and different sound from so many other rock bands.
Their older stuff is definitely better. Especially the High & Dry album:
Mirror Mirror
Let it Go
Bringing on the Heartache
Lady Strange
You Got Me Running
I burned out High N Dry soo much and the anticipation of this Album coming out CAN NEVER be underrated~
Funny seeing Rick Allen with both arms! LOL
They have plenty more that you will like , "Rock of Ages", "Too Late for Love", "Hysteria", "Bringing on a Heartbreak", "Love Bites", "Foolin", "Rocket", "Armageddon It", "Animal", and more
Another really great Def Leopard song is "Animal"
def leppard
"Pour Some Sugar on Me"... it's the big hit. "That sound" is the sound of the 80's :) Hair Bands
Rick Allen will forever be my favorite drummer! All of that with one arm!! Daughtry and Santana do a cover of this song that is outstanding!!! Love Bites is another great Def Leppard song!
Let's Gooooo!!
Did you notice, Rick Allen, the drummer...only has one arm? Go to their concert...you’ll never want to go see anyone else! Every show they put on is superbly magnificent!
He still has both arms at this time.
Good react!
This is one of the best bands of the 80's
A great band with amazings songs
This album was B4 the drummer lost his arm. They waited for him to learn how to play w 1 arm. I saw them in concert twice. They sound just as good live than the studio.
Def Leppard is amazing. You should check out Women from the next album they did after the drummer lost his arm in an accident, but built a custom drum kit for himself and taught himself to play with just the one arm after that.
Back then in that time most of them put their heart into it, lived in that era. I know the younger generation hear it and just music and they move on some of us where still their and haven’t and don’t wanna move on. Anyway on this song it’s like piece of a memory even a small moment of a memory hang on to it until death arrives
You guys definitely broke the lyrics of this song down with more perspective than I did at first..good job.FYI: this was the song in the very first garage band that I ever played in and we rocked it at the battle of the bands...lol.
Too late, is my favorite, and never seen anyone react to it yet.
