You have changed my life with this video! I also suffer from severe gel polish allergies. Thank you a thousand times for your contribution to UA-cam. ❤
This is the best glue EVER. In my honest opinion. I only wear press ons now. With regular nail glue, I would have reapply nail glue constantly because they would pop off. I decided to try this glue, my nails stayed in place for 3 weeks. No lifting, no popping off. It was $15 at Sally’s beauty supply. A little goes a long way. I definitely plan to buy two more tubes to keep in my nail bin.
After a severe allergic reaction, resulting in nasty NASTY nails (layers peeled off, some almost back to the cuticle), I felt so defeated as nails seem actually help my self-confidence. Your video is exactly the hope I was needing. Thank you Jess for taking the time to produce this video and help many of us who are looking for alternatives that actually work. ♥
Hi Jess ... just a quick follow-up. The DD Fastbond glue does not appear to be available in Canada. I've checked Sally's, Amazon, other beauty supply outlets and even sent an email to Dashing Diva (no they did not respond). Anyway, after researching, there are a few commercial gel glues that have the exact ingredients as the "official nail glues" so I tried the gorilla gel and it totally works with no reaction either. Just wanted to let you know.
Jess, you are my hero!! I have a gel allergy, and I’ve always wanted to try full coverage tips. You answered allllll of my questions! Thank you so much!!
This looks so easy, just ordered mine yesterday, can't wait to try it. I started using a nail lamp & polygel works ok , but this looks easier. Thanks for the info.❤
loovveee this glue! 👏🏻👏🏻 could you share a link of the nail clippers you used here? I couldn't find the link below, unless I missed it 🙃😅 it looks really handy!
It definitely gets easier with practice. My first application was not so pretty. There is some trial and error with knowing how much glue to use and how long to hold the tip in place. Once you get the hang of it though… game changer. I literally can get all 10 tips on in less than 10 min. It’s a beautiful thing.
Thanks for the great video. Love the glue placement tip! I’m so excited, all ready have the exact tips and will pick up glue today. I am recovering from a gel allergy. Some nails are still growing out but I’m trying this anyway. Fingertips are so tender without any nail length. 🤞🏻
Oh good! Yes, the recovery process was quite frustrating. I hope it has not been too painful for you. I truly hope that these product work as well for you as they do for me.
Jess, do you do fills or do you completely remove the set and do a new one? I’m allergic to gel too and wondering what a fill would look like with this method? I know it can be done with clear dip but wish there was another way 😊
I have only ever done a fill with clear dip. I just use my e-file to remove any lifting first. The only other way I can think would work is clear acrylic with monomer which I do no have any experience with.
FYI I went to order the fast bond and couldn’t find it on the dashing diva link nor the Amazon link. The Amazon link says it’s unavailable. Also the tips you suggested say they are acrylic/gel so not sure about them either. I believe I may be allergic to gel too so looking for alternatives as well. Great video.
Yes, when I posted this video they were available in both places. Now I have only had luck finding it at Sally’s Beauty Supply. I was hoping the restock would happen quickly, but has been several months. It is not clear whether the tips are actual gel or if they are plastic/acrylic. However I have had no issues using them as long as o do not apply them using gel products. Also, in general, it is uncured gel that causes the issues with sensitivity/allergies. Any tips like these, the gel is fully cured, so it should be less likely to cause any issues. Thanks for watching ☺️
Oh I totally feel your pain. It was awful when I had my first major reaction to gel. It took a lot of time and trial and error to find non-gel products that worked well for me. I’m glad you found this helpful.
Hi! Thanks so much for the video❤️🙏Can you make a video about removing this particular glue without damaging the press on nails and your own natural nails?❤
I personally don’t know that there is a way to remove press-ons when using this glue without damaging them. Simply because the only way I know how to remove it without damaging your natural nail is with acetone and acetone will destroy your press-ons. If you want to be able to reuse press-ons, your best bet is adhesive tabs.
What a helpful video! I haven't tried tips yet, but this looks easy! How long do these last and what do you do to fill them in? Thanks for all this information! 🌸🌸💕
Thanks! I’m glad you found it helpful. I have had them last about 3 weeks and I fill by removing all lifting and then I apply clear dip. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks for posting this, it will come in handy for me in the very near future with the Triple D full coverage short coffins I just purchased. I can always count on you Jess! 🥰
Hy Jess, I got all my supplies and watched your video yesterday, and applied the full coverage tips. I still have a few questions as I'm still learning and may have missed the info in the video. When I apply the nail, I press down, and then some of the glue comes out so I clean it up. But then, when I lift up on the nail, I see some big bubbles. Did I apply too much pressure? I applied enough pressure to get the glue to the end but then when I lift up I see the bubbles. Do you just reapply with more glue? Or am I supposed to hold the nail on my natural nail a lot longer? Another question is how do you remove the nail I have one that has lots of bubbles so I want to remove it and start over. Do you file down or acetone? When you need to do a fill, do you completely remove or fill in with builder gel or something similar? Thanks so much for such an informative video!!! I love the look of these nails on me so far!!
Hi, thank you for watching. Yes, I try not to apply too much pressure , but when I first apply the nail I hold it for about 15-20 seconds to ensure the the glue holds. For removal, I clip down the length, file the nail to rough up the surface and then I use acetone soaked pads with foil wrapped around my fingers and put them under a heating pad to warm up the acetone. This is the fastest removal process I have found.
If I need to fill, I file off any lifting, than I apply 2 coats of dip base (allowing them to each dry), then buff smooth. If need be, I will fill with clear dip powder. I do not use builder gel as I have a gel allergy, but that is an option if you are not allergic.
I’m just seeing this vid for the first time! Don’t know how I missed it. I just ordered the Fast Bond. Gonna try your method of applying it. ❤️. So what is forge difference between the Una Gella and a gelly tip?
How long did these last for you with this glue? I just read on their site in one of the reviews that she got 5 days and I was wondering if there was any way it would go longer.
I got almost 2 weeks out of my last set and honestly only removed them because of some staining from a dip powder I had used and so I could film this tutorial. I probably could have gone another week. I personally believe that a really thorough nail prep is key to really good adhesion.
Great video! Just ordered the glue and tips! I like the tips I am using, but I don't love them like I did my gelly tips (before allergy)....hoping this is my new favorite, too!!💞
I’m obsessed with the glue as well as the tips! I love the ease of use. A much smaller learning curve than with gelly tips in my humble opinion. I truly hope you’ll be pleased with them.
the dashing diva nail glue is all sold out :( do you have any secondary suggestions for a non-gel thick glue for false full coverage nails? I struggle with the regular runny glue and that's all i can find that's not UV
Hi I tried to find the larger glue on the Fast Diva site and I don't find it. Can you help? I'm new to your site. Does this soak off with acetone? Thanks 😊
I have not been able to get the glue on the Dashing Diva site for a long time, but it is available through Sally’s Beauty. That’s where I have been ordering from. Yes, I remove mine using acetone. I use Fast Foils that I get off Amazon. Removes in about 15 minutes. So sorry for the late reply.
They are my favorite tips now. Gel allergies are awful! I wish it was easier to find comparable options that last. This is the best process and products I have found that work for me.
The Diamond ball cuticle bit does not hurt. Just remember to use it only at lower speeds. I generally don’t go over 6 or 7k RPMs. Also keep the bit constantly moving. Do not hold it in one spot for long because it can cause friction and it could cut your skin that way.
That’s great! It was tough to know if the gelly tips contributed at all to my issues, so I just decided to play it safe. You are so welcome! I think you will love the glue.
Yes! Thank you! Amazon sold out of it shortly after this video uploaded. At the time I did not realize that it was also available at Sally’s. But have learned that it is from others since. Great to know!
Dip is definitely not mandatory. If you prefer, you can just apply the base coat, then the top coat, apply the chrome and then top coat again to protect the chrome.
I do not reuse my tips. I use them as extensions and apply peel base so that I can redo my dip powder, but my tips remain on my nails until I have to redo them. I am not sure there is a way to remove them and be able to reuse the tips. If you want to use your tips and reuse them, it’s better to use press on tabs with just a little glue around the edges. It is so simple which is why I fell in love. They do soak off. I actually use the magic remover from Double Dipped to remove mine and it works really well. My skin does not like prolonged soaks in acetone (even with coconut oil).
