Grant Park vendors want city to crack down on unlicensed competition

- Licensed vendors who operate in Grant Park have become fed up with unlicensed competitors, who they have said are taking over the park, illegally selling everything from tacos to ice cream and alcohol, all without a permit.
This city is so messed up how you get seven people charged for making an honest living and you got people steeling, robbing and car jacking and no one is charged or in custody get mayor Johnson tf out
They are caught and charged, but the consequences aren’t strict enough, that’s the problem. Blaming a mayor who inherited problems in a 3 million size city is absurd. It’s gonna take more than one ittt bitty mayor.
Going against the law is not honest
They need to start going after the criminals that keep carjacking people and breaking into cars. They find it more important to go after people selling ice cream, etc than the real criminals. unbelievable
How can anybody make money if they have a $20,000/mo rent plus all the fees? He's really working for the City.
It’s literally the only licensed vendor selling on grant park all the other vendors are on the side of the road. He wouldn’t pay that price if he knew it wasn’t worth it
I'd say get unlicensed vendors all over the city
This reminds me of how ubber brankrupted the taxi cab medalion system (prob broke the law too.) The problem is not the other unlicensed venders, it's the cost of the license fee. Other cities around the world have insanely delicious street food and opportunities for venders to make a decent living.
It's a matter if legality. You should be a legal citizen following the legal system. Nothing personal the legal sellers trying to make a living too.

These people come here thing they can just set up a shop and sell good and food. There are laws here they need to abide by. The so called land of the free does not mean free to do whatever the hell you want. Isn't the law also if you are illegal and caught committing a crime its automatic deportation? Thats one way to send them back
