Years ago I played in a D&D game that involved an underground blood lake. After defeating the eldritch horror within we reopened it as a vacation resort for vampires
I saw an interesting comment saying that when you take a picture of the giant eye, since that creature has been at such a low depth its whole life, you effectively flashbang it.
@@torturedgaming7524 That makes me wonder about what would happen if you don't take a picture where the fish is supposed to appear. Like, if the game is detailed enough to call out when you're going at it backwards, maybe it's detailed enough for it to recognize something like that?
@@torturedgaming7524 there two different creatures in the blood ocean. The eye is one giant reptilian one that can’t fit inside the submarine and the one with the gaping mouth fish you see once not attack you and then again at the end of the game attacking which can fit inside the submarine.
The Quiet Rapture is a pretty terrifying concept. Imagine you wake up, only to find that most natural celestial objects are gone and you’re pretty much floating in a black void. It’s that quick.
But like, you spend a few hour not realizing because the phantom starlight is still there. Only when you try and contact someone you know on a planet or look where a planet SHOULD be do you discover the truth.
it gets even more terrifying when you remember that the blood oceans are in fact human blood So Whatever happened to earth, while not known, seems to have been a bloody massacre that somehow had all human remains located to various moons. all that blood came from the populous on both earth and mars, and no one knows exactly how it happened, but something sinister has occurred.
If I'm not wrong, the jumpscare at the 'end' of the game is not triggered by going to any specific spot. It's triggered by how many photos you've taken of the important areas. You can explore in any order and you will always die on the way to the last photo.
yes, that was fairly apparent, even not having seen this second playthrough. what was less apparent though pretty obvious thinking about it is that the blood leaking into your sub, the fire are both location based as opposed to progress based, which is interesting.
I'm surprised there aren't more sunken subs littering the ocean floor in the open areas. Unless that alien fish prefers to corner its prey in tight corners, which is rather unsettling.
Interesting headcannon, but apparently that Angler Fish or whatever it be, kills you on your way to take the last important picture. So essentially it is programmed to kill the player when they only have one important picture left to take. So it could literally kill you in the important picture in the middle of the ocean, the same one it can appear in. So maybe it just doesn't like pictures being taken, especially its picture. XD
@@fivestarguy100 I haven't watched this video yet, but I'd like to put my two cents in- This is deep waters where lights are not common- It is dark, and this fish clearly have adapted to it. So a giant flash of light, done whenever a picture is taken, must be like being hit in the face by a flashbang for some.
I like that this update really makes it explicit that this isn't just called a "blood ocean", it's literally an ocean of human blood. I think we know now where everyone else went! *blender noises*

The horrifying part of SCP 354 is that there are no records of the exploratory mission outside of the logs. The O-5 didn't ok it, the site director didn't ok it. The people the logs say went in have zero memory of going in. They think the SCP itself created the log to scare them away from sending people into it.
My theory: the lake goes into different universes and such, similar to The Infinite IKEA. It could be an alternate universe SCP foundation that explore it and found this alternate world.
@@theasexualidiot4803 Another possible theory is that if someone dies within the realm of the blood lake they are wiped from existence but not completely, only leaving a few traces
I just realised that if the ocean is real human blood, then the fact that it's red means there is oxygen and iron, so if that could be extracted then they've just found a literal ocean of resources
It’s a creepy thought, being deep beneath an ocean of blood, a place that would give off such a bad smell, a place that has so much thickness, it has pretty much 0 transparency to the human eyes, deep beneath in a mechanical tomb surrounded by blood that comes from the same species as you.
This is like crazy game design. It manages to be immersive while having the bare minimum of gameplay. There are only a few buttons and a map and the game managed to make an entire experience.
Another fantastic example of story and atmosphere beating shiny graphics. I want to feel immersed in a game and that happens when the story really grabs me, not when I can see every bead of sweat and hair follicle on the bland protagonists face.
Mark: this is not a major update, except it is. For a game that's surprisingly popular, except it's not surprising. Good mark, good. Never let them know your next move
I’ve played the game myself, and in my experience it’s actually pretty difficult to hit a wall. The game starts warning you even if you are a pretty massive distance from any walls, so as long as you pay mild attention and have patience, you shouldn’t be hitting any walls on your first play through.
I hope it's like that in the movie 😂 "I refuse to go, I'm gonna die either way!" "But you'll die possibly knowing the lore w h y" "... Put me in the damn sub."
22:34 that achievement if for photographing the upper right anomaly. The game ends and the jumpscare plays when you attempt to photograph your 9th node, whatever node that may be (you can never photograph more than 8 anomalies), and the upper right is *usually* last, especially on the first playthrough. Hence, "You've Played this Before" you know about the jumpscare, and wanted to know what the "last" photograph was. Also, I think that sound is the sound of something breathing...
Plot for Iron Lung: There are 2 remaining factions in the universe after the quiet rapture happened. You are playing as a captured member of Eden, the remains of an old martian colony established before the rapture. You are forced by The Coalition of Iron (C.O.I) to do research on Moon At-5 or die. The protagonist chooses life and writes the letter on the floor of the submarine as a way to vent his frustrations and how if he's going to go out, he might aswell go out on his own terms. In the depths of the unknown blood ocean instead of the vast emptiness of space. The Coalition actually sent a research vessel down there before the player but it crashed and they're now just scrapping everything together to try to make sense of this blood ocean anomaly. It is also confirmed that the blood seems to be of human origin or at least human adjacent. The game assets also suggest that there was some weird ancient cult like civilization at one point inside the blood ocean. There are remains of buildings/temples, weird monoliths, wormholes, and giant bones. It was a theory that this specific civilization casted a ritual that made it so that every star, habitable planet, and (presumably) everyone on it vanishes from existence. Also a point of note is that NO ONE watched or found out about the quiet rapture before many days after it supposedly happened. First, it was radio silence before a few ships was sent to investigate to find the remains of an empty void. There's also hidden secret assets in the game which is either a leak for the dev's newest unrelated game or a sequel/prequel to expand the universe of Iron Lung (though that is highly unlikely)

Interesting thing. In last vid Mark mentioned something like "all people on earth wouldn't be enough to fill this ocean with blood". After that I got interested and made some calculations. I don't have any data on in-game ocean of blood on this moon, so I used Pacific Ocean on Earth instead. So, to fill Pacific Ocean with blood, if it's drained somehow, you'd need to exsanguinate approximately 1.34*10^18 adult human beings. Its like, 1.34 billions of billions. And it's 168.686.463 times earth population. Then I was bored and calculated how it'd affect our Moon's trajectory relative to earth, since blood is a bit heavier than water, but its not that impressive - moon would get just 0.0009% closer. Edit: obviously, ocean in-game is, probably, much smaller than Pacific, since it's located on some moon and moons tend to be smaller than planets. It's just that this theme caught my interest. Someone call me if we'll get information on this ocean's volume, and I'll adjust numbers to get proper data applicable for this particular ocean Edit again: I've been trying to answer your questions and making more calculations under this comment, but there's too many of you, people. You're on your own now. Look for formulas in answers to this comment.
Further they _say_ it's human blood, but from their own records there's not enough humans to fill even a pond, let alone a moon. So what if the blood is the _same_ as human blood, (chemical makeup) that somehow is created on these 4 moons? The earth can create various liquids, so what's to say other places couldn't make something similar to human blood in makeup? And it doesn't congeal so it must not be totally like human blood....
Nice calculations, but since there are only moons in this universe after the rapture, then the oceans are really, really smaller than Earth's oceans. Also, there were more humans in Mars than on Earth, according to this new lore; so probably way more than 7 billion existed
Let's all thanks Lixian for taking the time to point out of Mark's locations in the map making it easier for the viewers to know where mark is at all time. :3

Fun fact: The entire ocean is 3D modeled, meaning you can take a picture of a point from multiple angles, getting different pictures of the same object, it isn't just pre-set pictures you'd get at specific points of the ocean, also the monster following you is actually just a PNG of it's eye following your submarine!
I do recall some other youtuber but forgot his name that there is a 3D model of the map, but the way the game works if my memory wasn't being rusty is that they take pictures of the specified 3D modelled area out of bounds to your photographs depending on where your XY coordinates are.

so glad he found the SM8, was worried he would miss it before the update, there was a "Humming Monolith" in the same spot, similar to what Mark found in the very top right of the map this playthrough, but it also made an exclusive sound. additionally, the eye jumpscare would follow you until you use your camera, and the beast that gets you at the end, its file name is "frog"
I wonder if the monolith was moved, since the mystery it provides is so cool. Then again, they could’ve removed it if it was just to be mysterious and doesn’t make sense of the lore that’s been added

I really like the "ghost light of dead stars" thing. Like the stars aren't there. But they're light years away so you won't "see" them disappear until their light stops reaching you years from now. If this happened to us right now, we wouldn't see any star besides our sun disappear for over 4 years.
And what's scarier is that first the Sun would go out ~8 minutes after the rapture (as seen from Earth), then nothing would happen for 4 years, until suddenly Proxima Centauri disappears, then another star, and then another after that, and every few years we'd see stars flicker out of existence and our night sky gradually grow darker and lonlier and colder with no way of ever knowing why they abandoned us.
Oh my god I assumed the "blood oceans" were just oceans highly concentrated with iron-oxides, like an ocean-wide version of the "red beaches" that occur irl. I didn't expect them to be straight up human blood

How these things formed is what interests me. What led to the formation of these things? How long have they been there? What the FUCK is that thing doing down there in it?! So many questions.
What makes it worse is when you know it’s actual human blood and then you start thinking about temperature… is it warm like fresh blood right out of the vein? Or is it cold and thick and super viscous?
@@ZZMonkeysUncleZZ that’s probably more so due to the fact that exposed blood generally coagulates, ignoring temperature the blood should naturally coagulate to a semi-solid too state

Even though the color red and being a bird are the only things similar (and Ho-Oh isn't even actually rainbow like mine is).
Apparently, according to my friend, based in the scales and the eye, the creature is more of an herbivore than a carnivore. And due to the fact that it lived in the dark its whole life before you effectively flashbanged it, it was basically just: “Oh, what’s this moving thing? It doesn’t look like something I can ea- OH MOTHER FUCKE-“ Edit : The creature that kills you at the end and the creature’s eye you took a picture of are two different creatures from what I’ve read.
I thought the big monster had the teeth of a carnivore, though... Can't say the same for the skull Mark found in the first video, though, whatever THAT thing was was definitely an herbivore. Which seems odd that it would be found in a blood ocean.
On land, most herbivores are opportunistic carnivores when given the chance, especially in times of low nutritional value in leaves and plants. There are videos of deer chewing up snakes that have more context.
Considering if all stars disappeared right now, we would still see them in the sky for millions upon millions of years, since light would have to travel all that way to our eyes until we can register they’re gone, it’s more likely that everyone not on a planet at the time of the Quiet Rapture were the ones raptured and not the other way round. By what, or for what reason, is the question.
I love how Mark just casually speaks about relatively deep SCP lore like it's a regular Wednesday for everyone watching. Mostly because it is for most of us.
How is that deep SCP lore? I. Relatively certain he didn't start going on about the multiple different SCP universes, anything in the fiction section, or anything else of that level.
What really fascinates me about this game is just how interesting this world is for just how little we get of it. Even more intriguing is that (from what I've heard), the Creator said that all the lore he has for this universe is present in this game, he hasn't (or hadn't) really thought much beyond that. So for what little we get, there's just so much.
The greatest trick a good fiction author can pull is show you a tiny bit of information and cause you to invent something huge and interesting to you. Sounds like this dude did it by accident.

If anyone is interested, I highly recommend looking at anything about behind the scenes of the game. It's really interesting. The whole map is a rendered 3d area, and *you* never actually move, you're in a stationary cell. What's moving is a camera that you're controlling. It's really neat and I highly recommend checking it out! Edit: grammar, I was really confused at first, I'm usually really good about catching that stuff before posting. But thanks Matimele for pointing it out!
plausible answer: many stars are far enough away that their light will still shine for countless years, BUT they've determined all stars went by noticing the ones nearby vanish right away
Because of how far the stars are, some of them could already be gone and we wouldn't know for hundreds or even thousands of years. If the Sun disappeared we would still see it for like 8 minutes because of the speed of light.
It also mentions the ghostlight of stars. This is a reference to the fact that these stars, while having disappeared, since they are thousands of lightyears away, the time it would take for it to have visibly disappeared from the location of say earth, would take thousands of years, which is why the stars still shine, yet they are dead, "ghosts" if you will.

The thing is, that obelisk that emits that weird groaning noise was already in the game before this lore update. So I find it curious that the game would be updated for “lore” but there still isn’t any clue as to what the obelisk even is. The only detail I noticed, and this is something Mark pointed out but I don’t think actually connected these dots, is that there are two “buildings” that look the same in this ocean and they both have an obelisk nearby. The difference is the one closer to the start point is silent, while the one at the end of the game is emitting noise. What this means, I have no idea. But it seems like an important detail to note.

@@Blackholebirb For me, the mystery of it only adds to the horror and adding too much knowledge would take away from that fact which is why I think a new game, new setting, new character but same universe would be a good way of expanding on the concept without revealing too much- but that's just my opinion.
7:58 I just realized something, it says here that prisoners are "undergoing *conviction* realization" and the character you're playing as is a convict, which makes your character definitely from Eden station and is undergoing the process to earn his freedom.
SCP-354 is a red liquid resembling blood which reaches abnormally high densities below its surface. SPOILERS The most interesting thing about it if I remember correctly is that at one point it spat out an exploration log which chronicled the travels of a group of SCP foundation staff within the SCP (or perhaps on the other side of it), having entered the lake and re-emerged in another bigger lake in a different world than Earth. The foundation never sent any such exploration crew.
Seeing as SCP 354 is implied to be some kind of inter-dimensional portal, and the blood ocean in Iron Lung not only has a mysterious portal but also randomly teleports the sub from time to time, I think that inspiration is likely.
I feel like people don’t talk about how terrifying the idea of the quiet rapture is, literal dying universe no stars left, light something that’s normally always constant is now a limited resource and will eventually fade completely. And the thought of whole planets and civilizations disappearing with no trace, nothing left in the universe besides a ship running on continuously less and less fuel to call home
well considering there are maybe a few thousand humans remaining in this game's universe, i think the blood moons alone could be enough to power their civilization for upwards of thousands of years.

My theory is that those spaceships (c.o.i and eden) are the ones who disappeared and are now stranded in an empty void with some blood moons around. The Earth and the Mars are probably sitting there, thinking "where did our spaceships go?". That's the most optimistic you can be in that situation.
Unlikely and also my least favorite of the theories. A major factor of the horror of the premise is the sheer magnitude of the Rapture, and that the space stations were the ones actually raptured detracts from this.

This is rather unnerving. Given this concept, and considering the oceans are confirmed to be of human blood, it's almost like whatever brought the survivors to this realm has been doing so for a long time, and with the singular purpose of reducing us to blood.
Whether the POV we're seeing is from those taken or from those left behind is, ultimately, a matter of perspective until evidence solidly proves otherwise.

Could this imply that the creature is amphibian and, as such, not bound to the blood ocean? Maybe it saw the Iron Lung enter the ocean and actually followed it in.
Oh my yes, I'd love to see him play SCP-Secret files. Seeing him react to the hanged king would be entertaining. I love how the game took such a scary SCP, and then fleshed it out more than the article does to show the aftermath of an uncontrolled containment breach.
There's technically only one jumpscare at the end but the build up throughout the entire game makes that final scare worth it. Jumpscares are only hated because they often aren't used correctly, and this game uses them correctly.
So, considering this whole "silent rapture" bit, hear me out. The perspective is from those who have suddenly seen a disappearance or perhaps "extraction" of all planets that could potentially preserve life. What if, in fact, the event occured ONLY to those who were involved in this iron and steel company, and not to those on Mars or Eden? Perhaps from the perspective of planets that had life and Eden itself, they observed the sudden disappearance of those involved with the iron and steel coalition? That would mean a cosmic event moved that coalition and their operatives from normal time and space, and those experiencing these blood oceans are more experiencing their sudden movement OUTSIDE of normal time and space to barren space? For those who remember Steven King's movie, "The Langoliers", that is the sort of thing I'm mentioning, to a degree.
@@everythingsalright1121 There is also the problem that these oceans apparently consist entirely of human blood. iron lung is such a cool game. just the idea itself of being underwater, on another planet, which happens to be a ocean of blood, is such an interesting concept. and there’s so much that you could theorize about this game it’s so cool. not to mention the ambiance, which is scary itself without using any jumpscares.
This game has such an interesting universe, I really hope the dev adds to it in future. I also hear a theory that the blood oceans are the people that got raptured being used to fill the caves but I really dont think its the case. Its obvious that the oceans have been around for a long time as the ecosystems in them have adapted to living in blood. A more plausible theory is that where the planets and stars disappeared to, the blood moons came from and "switched places" from an alternate dimension either by some kind of dimensionally instability or ritualistic event. Maybe this alternate dimension (if it is the case) was dying/was at the end of its life cycle so the life forms that lived in it used a ritual to bring it back to life by stealing the stars and to also get resources from all the planets.
@@hi_-bz7wf Yes, The humanity of that fictional world must be millions of millions of years more advanced and evolved, surely they have already created portals that lead the colonies to another universe.
@@hi_-bz7wf Unlikely, since they wouldn't be able to see the still-traveling light from the missing stars if that was the case unless the starlight got shifted with them which isn't impossible but would be a strangely particular conclusion. I also just hate this theory because it takes away from the cosmic horror of the game's premise. As it's presented, that all the planets are gone, means there's no longer a safe space for the survivors. There's nothing they can go back to, while an alternate reality implies there is so it becomes ehhh
I'm so glad that the creators updated this game with more lore! Honestly added a lot to the world building while still leaving many, if not most, questions unanswered. I'd love to see them continue to explore this universe they've crafted in other games, short scary experiences like this one, or even a longer game, maybe a prequel exploring the other moon's blood ocean, or from the perspective of the scientist or whoever left that note about the sm8 in the database on the space station. This universe is fascinating and the developer really has a talent for the scary ambiance that makes for an entirely unsettling experience rather than just a few scares.
@@zhankazest Because the use of money in this regard is pathetic, of no actual function, and reveals a normie mindset. It shows that this person has prioritized empty content and has made it a big part of their lives, showing no actual interests or appreciation for detail or any respectable sense of life purpose.
@@zhankazest Taking eight seconds to write a comment doesn't really show a significant amount of "care". Even if I hypothetically spent hours upon hours here that would indicate an interest in the topic, which is irrelevant to the described circumstance being "pathetic". I literally just defined it for you. A normie mindset is found among people who don't actually have any genuine interests. So they hate detail, depth, exploration of those interests, heaven forbid actually learning anything from them or making their own. It stays at the surface level primarily and is primarily motivated by the desire to stay socially adaptive and has little if any basis in actually enjoying that interest.
The way that the creature looks directly into the camera suggests to me that whatever it is must be highly intelligent and aware of you and what you're doing. I feel like it might be some kind of Lovecraftian cosmic entity that may be responsible for the Quiet Rapture.
It's more likely an animal. Animals observe things they aren't familiar with. Seeing what, by all accounts should be a predator in its midst, not react when getting up close to it, it's probably just sussing you out before attacking Hell some animals wait till their prey is literally touching them before they strike I prefer to think that the monster can't see. An ocean of blood, it probably evolved to survive without sight, because it would be virtually visionless in the depths
Even as a human I would have no idea where and what a camera would look like on the iron lung, it is most likely discreet. It was probably game design and also lore wise a coincidence that it looked directly at the camera.
@@paragonjones13i think It was a passive creature, the creature only attacked the ship after the photo was taken, so probably the flash made by the sub to take photo flashbanged the creature making It agressive
I love the idea that everyone on these stations missed the end of the world and they have been left forgotten to find some way of surviving the now, empty universe
Btw for those who don't know 1:05 This is a real river, and it looks like this today It's called the Reka Daldykan River in Russia It turned red due to mercury mining upstream There were many cases of this in Russia's past but this being the largest example of it happening, as you can even see it from space Also if you want to see some creepy shit that's very similar look up Antarctica's Blood waterfall
For anyone who wants to hear a more "constructed" lore: I believe that the playable character, i.e. "you" are a member of the Eden base. After the attack on the filament center you were captured. As stated in the sm-8 log, there are 4 subs. sm-8 was the good one and was destroyed by whatever creature(s) inhabit this ocean. So as part of your conviction realization, you got the shitty sub. Searching for answers, resources, something. Given that you are a prisoner, they wouldn't care if you died. As to why at-5 had a redacted entry, I'm guessing it's just so "you" cannot find out that there are horrible monsters on this moon until it's too late You can learn more from Pyrocynical, the end section of his video on this game includes talking about this new lore terminal
honestly i don’t blame the C.O.I for executing Eden agents after what Eden did to filament station. if the player was actually captured from the attack on filament station, then the player is basically a war criminal. the ‘conviction realisation’ is pretty much deserved.
@@itsukizy That assumes they're telling the truth on it, which given some of their other redactions and statements of "not" having done very specific methods of killing their prisoners, puts that to question for me, lol. Also, they keep talking about being in the majority for certain practices, but when stating populations were the smaller of the two groups mentioned.
@@itsukizy You have to remember that computer terminal is the C.O.I's. Any information on it was curated by them, so it's inherently biased towards them and against Eden. Eden could be the good guys for all we know; or there could be no good guys. Eden might not even have been involved. Eden might not even *exist*.
@@Dr.Fluffles it would be very difficult to lie about an entire station becoming uninhabitable. the incident at filament station doesn’t seem made up. and before you say the coi staged it/self sabotaged as a propaganda play, that seems very stupid in a world with such lack of natural resources. we don’t know much about eden but it’s not unrealistic that they would do something like that in a war/conflict. making certain key areas of enemy land uninhabitable via sabotage is something that actually happens in real life. it’s pretty braindead that people are so quick to jump onto the notion that the coi is always lying about everything. we still don’t know enough about the lore and about eden but eden could be a lot worse than the coi and we wouldn’t know because we refuse to believe the coi. it would be like refusing to believe in german war crimes in ww2 just cause the soviets were the first to call the germans out for it. like, not to bring in actual real world war crimes as examples for a horror game but fiction is always inspired by real events and history is a useful tool to analyse fiction. sure, maybe the coi is bad, but we shouldn’t just deny their claims of war crimes just cause its coming from bad people is my point. i guess its not unlike youtube commenters to deny warcrimes, even if they’re fictional ones lol.
I love that we're learning more about the state of the universe after the Quiet Rapture, such planets being stripped of their flora and fauna. And I'm pretty surprised at the similarities between Iron Lung and SCP-354 (exploration included). Wouldn't be surprised if it was inspired by the SCP 14:05 I bet the monster wouldn't expect getting rammed by the submarine
I think it's not possible to ram the monster, there's a few small channels that have tested out all sorts of these things, but the eye monster just kinda chills there until you take the picture.
@@joao34386 The eye is just a jpeg which follows the camera around until the picture is taken, giving the perfect illusion of being stalked by the beast. very clever.
Its not picture based. Its pictures OF the Poi based. So you can do them in any order but as soon as that last check is about to be marked you're fucked
an interesting theory that I have is, what if the people that "died" during the quiet rapture werent actually taken? what if the people in the space stations were the ones taken to some weird alternate reality?
@@conraderson9121 He means to state that, rather than all of the stars and such simply vanishing, all of humanities machinery outside of earths orbit was “phased” out of our universe and into one that is the exact same right down to the position of the stars and most of the planets, except in this universe, all life just doesn’t exist. No light, no life, no resources. Earth is still there, we just can’t see it because it’s on the other side of a dimensional barrier. I’d be willing to wager that that warbling thing Mark photographs is a portal leading back out into our universe. Or, more terrifyingly, it doesn’t lead to our universe, but rather another, with life that is so far from friendly that even breathing near them would warrant a mauling even the most determined bear would blanch at.
@@TheCorrodedMan Oh no i got that, i’m just saying that the fact that there is still light from now vanished stars means that that’s not what happened. That is unless all the light in the universe got “phased” away with all the machinery, but that seems like a strange inclusion. The fact that they can still “see” stars through their lingering starlight either disproves this theory or makes it far more complicated, as now you have to include other seemingly arbitrary things in the “phasing”.
The Lore in this game actually makes it more terrifying than before. Now we know MORE and somehow it gets even more hopeless. There are likely only 1000 humans left after what happened...that is more scary than the blood moon itself.
@@siremmerich7707 About what you said about the blood oceans being the remains of the vanished humans: In the book of Revelation (chapter 14) there's these paragraphs about the world being harvested, raptured if you will, two times. This particular harvesting seems to fit Iron Lung's story the story the most: 17. Another angel came out of the temple in heaven, and he too had a sharp sickle. (...) 19. The angel swung his sickle on the earth, gathered its grapes and threw them into the great winepress of God’s wrath. 20. They were trampled in the winepress outside the city, and blood flowed out of the press, rising as high as the horses’ bridles for a distance of 1,600 stadia. So it would be kind of a stretch but the Quiet Rapture and stuff could be totally biblical even, with the blood oceans being the wine-pressed blood of every "grape" or human left on terrestrial soil.

Either that, or you've been yeeted out of known space and are MUCH to far away to ever hope of finding your way back
it gets even more terrifying when you remember that the blood oceans are in fact human blood
So Whatever happened to earth, while not known, seems to have been a bloody massacre that somehow had all human remains located to various moons.
all that blood came from the populous on both earth and mars, and no one knows exactly how it happened, but something sinister has occurred.

If I'm not wrong, the jumpscare at the 'end' of the game is not triggered by going to any specific spot. It's triggered by how many photos you've taken of the important areas. You can explore in any order and you will always die on the way to the last photo.

The jumpscare is trigger when you're facing the last photo and when turn around to take the photo it will jumpscare you.

XD

You don't think the note was written by a previous prisoner who refused to carry out the mission?

Someone call me if we'll get information on this ocean's volume, and I'll adjust numbers to get proper data applicable for this particular ocean
Edit again: I've been trying to answer your questions and making more calculations under this comment, but there's too many of you, people. You're on your own now. Look for formulas in answers to this comment.
Fascinating, in terms of space though even that small of a percentage does make a rather major difference.
This was cool of you thanks
That is very interesting, thank you.
Nice calculations, but since there are only moons in this universe after the rapture, then the oceans are really, really smaller than Earth's oceans. Also, there were more humans in Mars than on Earth, according to this new lore; so probably way more than 7 billion existed

@Can'tthinkofaname most monster collecting games fail in the USA because people often consider them a Pokemon rip off, for example.
I'm an artist and it's so annoying when people compare my bird characters to Pokemon even though they don't look alike. Like I have a bird with a red body and rainbow flight feathers and a rainbow crown of feathers on its head (like it's ACTUALLY rainbow). For some reason people compare it to Ho-Oh even though:
The body is not the same
The legs are not the same
The head shapes are different
The feathers on the head are different
The color of the wings is different
The tails are different
The body feathers are different
The beaks are not the same
The eyes are not the same
The body markings are not even slightly similar
Yet because it's a bird with a red body, it's automatically Ho-Oh. Even though the color red and being a bird are the only things similar (and Ho-Oh isn't even actually rainbow like mine is).
Apparently, according to my friend, based in the scales and the eye, the creature is more of an herbivore than a carnivore. And due to the fact that it lived in the dark its whole life before you effectively flashbanged it, it was basically just:

Because the flash seen on the camera is a star but it's only shows as pale as bone. Ha verbiage I see what ya did there.

SCP-354 is a red liquid resembling blood which reaches abnormally high densities below its surface.

The foundation never sent any such exploration crew.
Seeing as SCP 354 is implied to be some kind of inter-dimensional portal, and the blood ocean in Iron Lung not only has a mysterious portal but also randomly teleports the sub from time to time, I think that inspiration is likely.

My theory is that those spaceships (c.o.i and eden) are the ones who disappeared and are now stranded in an empty void with some blood moons around. The Earth and the Mars are probably sitting there, thinking "where did our spaceships go?". That's the most optimistic you can be in that situation.
The worst possible isekai story (at least so far as the characters fates go)

I just thought about it and what about the possibility that the Quiet Rapture wasn’t the disappearance of planets and stars. They’re all normal and present, however all of the *spacecraft and space stations* were the ones who disappeared into some alternate reality due to a space anomaly.
What’s more plausible, every habitable planet and star in the universe magically disappearing with nothing left behind to even hint at an energy source capable of doing so? Or all spacecraft and orbital stations vanishing due to an unforeseeable anomalous event

This is rather unnerving. Given this concept, and considering the oceans are confirmed to be of human blood, it's almost like whatever brought the survivors to this realm has been doing so for a long time, and with the singular purpose of reducing us to blood.

@@KarlMacmillann ah yes thank you for correcting me!!
Don't forget, it's 100% human too.
It could be that only the space stations got shifted into the other reality.
Thats actually a good point too
@@hi_-bz7wf Yes, The humanity of that fictional world must be millions of millions of years more advanced and evolved, surely they have already created portals that lead the colonies to another universe.
@@gimo6881 Hes saying the space stations might have been teleported
Stop giving youtubers money.
@@neo-filthyfrank1347 and why are you telling someone else to do something with their money?
@@zhankazest Because the use of money in this regard is pathetic, of no actual function, and reveals a normie mindset. @@neo-filthyfrank1347 so if its pathetic why do you care

Seeing what, by all accounts should be a predator in its midst, not react when getting up close to it, it's probably just sussing you out before attacking
Hell some animals wait till their prey is literally touching them before they strike
I prefer to think that the monster can't see.

Also if you want to see some creepy shit that's very similar look up Antarctica's Blood waterfall
As to why at-5 had a redacted entry, I'm guessing it's just so "you" cannot find out that there are horrible monsters on this moon until it's too late
You can learn more from Pyrocynical, the end section of his video on this game includes talking about this new lore terminal
honestly i don’t blame the C.O.I for executing Eden agents after what Eden did to filament station. if the player was actually captured from the attack on filament station, then the player is basically a war criminal. the ‘conviction realisation’ is pretty much deserved.
@@itsukizy Under the assumption that the player was at all involved in the decision to breach the reactor, of course
@@Dr.Fluffles it would be very difficult to lie about an entire station becoming uninhabitable. the incident at filament station doesn’t seem made up. and before you say the coi staged it/self sabotaged as a propaganda play, that seems very stupid in a world with such lack of natural resources. we don’t know much about eden but it’s not unrealistic that they would do something like that in a war/conflict. making certain key areas of enemy land uninhabitable via sabotage is something that actually happens in real life. it’s pretty braindead that people are so quick to jump onto the notion that the coi is always lying about everything. we still don’t know enough about the lore and about eden but eden could be a lot worse than the coi and we wouldn’t know because we refuse to believe the coi. it would be like refusing to believe in german war crimes in ww2 just cause the soviets were the first to call the germans out for it. like, not to bring in actual real world war crimes as examples for a horror game but fiction is always inspired by real events and history is a useful tool to analyse fiction. sure, maybe the coi is bad, but we shouldn’t just deny their claims of war crimes just cause its coming from bad people is my point. i guess its not unlike youtube commenters to deny warcrimes, even if they’re fictional ones lol.

well they still see starlight made by the stars before the rapture, implying that they are still in the same reality and were not the ones moved

It also makes marks theory / offhand comment, that the blood oceans consist of the remains of the vanished human population pretty likely…
@@siremmerich7707 About what you said about the blood oceans being the remains of the vanished humans:
In the book of Revelation (chapter 14) there's these paragraphs about the world being harvested, raptured if you will, two times. This particular harvesting seems to fit Iron Lung's story the story the most:
Oh, AND THEY’RE BASICALLY AT WAR WITH EACH OTHER, so, y’know, that bodes well for us 😬
@@MissBeeBonnet leave it to us humans to go "hey, we're basically extinct and are the last living beings in THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE. Y'know what sounds like a great idea? Waging war!
