The point is to give you a quick run down of the organizations, what they are, their mission, the requirements to join, what to expect and what is provided for you while in the program(s).

Thank you for these videos, it has made an unsure time in my life feel more approachable. It seems like everywhere I look whether it be teaching in Spain, working seasonally, and now this you are there.

      Hi!
It really depends on what you are looking for in terms of service sector, what is provided, type of work, ect.... Each program is different.
When it comes to the programs in this video, I personally do not have any experience with them. So I wouldn't be able to give you the "what it is really like" side of things.
I did have a friend who did city year and she really enjoyed her experience.
When you say the CCC, do you mean the different Conservation Corps programs that are available? There are many options for those. Many take place in the west/south east of the USA. You can google search for conservation corps and you should have many options come up; the California Conservation Corps, the South East Conservation Corps, Arizona Conservation Corps, ect...
From what I know, these programs are all hands on, and will keep you outdoors to work on various conservation efforts.
There is also the Americorps NCCC, which was based on the original CCC that was created in the 20s/30s. This is an Americorps program that is also hands on. There is a lot to this program as well- it is one I've completed twice and have had amazing experiences in the program.
With this one-- they do have a team they send each year to Alaska. HOWEVER: you have to be a member in the Pacific Region (there are 4 regions in total) and you dont pick where you go: Thus, it is a very small chance you would be on the team that gets sent to Alaska, and you would not be there for the whole year.
The reason I recommend this program is because you get a chance to travel to different states and live and serve with different communities. Your projects change every couple of months, so you get a chance to learn about, and serve in, different service sectors. You really get a chance to learn in grow in many aspects. It is also all hands on, and you are out in the field doing physical work.
When it come to Alaska specifically- there are youth programs, and youth conservation corps that serve in Alaska. If you look up "Alaska Conservation Corps" under alaska .gov they have a list of program possibilities and jobs within conservation/conservation efforts in that state, that you can apply to. It lists the program/job and qualifications and if they are currently accepting applications or not.
I hope that answered your question. Sorry if it was a lot of information, but I hope it helps.
