Hey Doug, great review video on the Dbx driverack pa2. I was on the fence about getting one for my home studio and came across your video that nailed it home for me. Looking forward to future videos from you. Thank you for Taking the time to do these videos. Peace.
Hi, I have a question about the dbx pa2, how many studio monitors can you plug in? If I have 3 pairs of monitors, "Focal, ns10, avanton" can I only use 1 rack?
Hi, I use a netgear wifi box and controlling it by my phone, twice the dbx has frozen up and can't do anything to the dbx until I turn it off then back on again and its fine then, I just wondered have anyone had any problems like this, it's only does this when the netgear box is plugged into the dbx driverack pa2 but not always just twice. Thanks
Hi, does anyone know why am am getting a slight clicking noise when I tip the dbx driverack pa2 up and down side to side its coming from the top vent area, if you put your ear next to it you can hear it more, if anyone could check yours, the dbx is brand new. Thank you
thanks for the video, i found it really informative. I purchased the PA2 about 1 year ago but I actually never really used it until just now. I have a Behringer ECM 8000 and for some reason, the DriveRack PA2 unit will not use my mic. When I run the auto tune wizard and it's time for the unit to send the sweep I always get an error message saying that no RTA mic detected. Would you have any idea why this is happening? I even went into the tunning wizard options and selected the "flat" mic response but it still doesn't work. Thanks in advance.
Hi I used to tune systems manipulating phase and polarity for huge systems 15 years ago. Now I don’t do that anymore, but I want to buy a drive rack for my old Genelecs for mixing in 2.1. I don’t know if I should buy a 360 or a PA2 just because the sample rate. Which one would you recommend just for the room correction ?
Glad to see you back! I've got a question on the Avantones, I have a pair and use one in the same position as yours, my question is, what should I ' listen ' for when listening to the mix summed in mono on it? As I sometimes struggle with nasty mid range resonances on cellphones speakers but they sound okay on the avantones. Peace
I usually listen for low end build up in the 250 hz range, also you can hear if compression is going to translate well, it seems like the avantone can really reveal poor eq and image, as well as dynamics. Summed to mono, it really lets you hear if your mix is too wide! or if it has a lot of side information that drowns the drums and vox out when summed to mono :)
I've been looking at ouboard solution for Room EQ / compensation . I've looked at dspeaker Antimode and others , Antimode does the job but very noise, it puts a lot of hiss over the tweater , minidsp are avaible but the high end (SHD) ones that are affective are up to like £1600, and the smaller miniDSP are appreantly not very good converters is the DBX quiet? does it colour sound much before the room EQ?
It does not color as much as the older units and pretty transparent this one is useable are you going to get the eq of a trinnov or higher end mini dsp not really! Just a improvement for the cost was very suprised
@@DougJenkins thanks Doug Its certainly looks an option and worth a go, im happy you posted the video, I'm.looking for something to do minimal room eq ... mainly to compensate for a few 4db bumps around 100hz region, slight low mid. My room is partly treated and pretty good other than the above ,im just looking for something to help a bit more transparency when mixing and taking mixes out of the room else where .... not a room fix , just a bit of adjustment. The mini dsp lower priced models aren't very good sounding imo , mainly for hifi use, you need the shd version for good converters .
I was very shocked. I was thinking it would have flaws, like changing the image of the already great convertor and speakers, but it does it's job very transparent. really a great device, Dbx adding room correction was absolutely a great decision. Not just over the low end like earlier products, but the whole range. Very cool, and useful. Also I forgot to mention in the video, the image didn't change much gain wise, after all the EQ, I don't know if it level matches the processed signal, but flipping it in and out wasn't much of a difference volume wise. Very cool stuff
Doug Jenkins that is good to know. I'm gonna grab one here in a bit and give it a go. I wanted a transparent xover and it seems this might be a great way to get there. the room correction looks sweet.
So here’s a question….can you eq one room….or venues stage, and save everything as a preset, and then take it to another venue the next weekend and do another preset? All the eq, ads settings, crossovers? Or does it need to be done each time it’s moved to another venue?

Is this better than sonarworks? I have that and it works well.

Wow great video, it is a good alternative or maybe better because more features than sonarworks reference!

Hello friend can I use it in my home studio, connecting some Behringer MS40 monitors?
So its possible if i connect the dbx drive rack pa2 to the jbl 305 mkII for recording purposes.
Yes that is correct!
cool video I was thinking the same.thing about that box thanks for your opinion on it.

It's very transparent, far exceeded my expectation. Good luck with it..

I own one. The answer is YES. Tons of user presets
HEY Doug so I have the older Driverack do you think the old one will do this as well?
I would say no, the old one was pretty bad. This one is totally different
