I love the change to DLC engrams being unlockable on any map. It makes sense since the only reason they were locked was because the DLC's were paywalled. Now that they all come standard in ASA, it's an unnecessary hurdle.
Same back in ase before gen2 released I had to transfer to all maps to get all engrams in pvp
Personally I liked the new The Center. The only stuff I kinda think is sad is the Volcano Biome now been this mess.

Yes. The volcano island is a huge disappointment.
Honestly the redwood looks more bland and washed out than it use to it was what I was looking forward to the most.
Why? I looks more natural like a tropical volcano would look like, especially one that hasn't erupted in a long time

for anyone wondering yes there is a ledge you can procop to as soon as you enter walk straight then 90 degrees to the right theres a tiny ledge fit up to 5 ppl can do gamma with prim shotguns and only artifacts day 1 (you have to go into the water then to the right to get to ledge you have to dodge one monkey rock for sure)
Man i got all excited since the center was always my fav map to relax on, the vibe was amazing, now it just feels all dry like the island

I'm not really enjoying these map reworks.... like in some ways it looks nice, but it also loses a lot of its character. Half burnt island is just a jungle. Lava island is just a jungle. Everything looks really same-y. Makes me a bit sad :/
I share the same opinion. The Center is missing the whole vibe it had in ASE
I honestly think it would be cool to see a jungle lava zone it adds a nice balance between the burning lava pools surrounded entirely by a lush green jungle… I think it *would* be cool if everything else wasn’t a jungle and the one unique zone is now just more jungle

Butchered the map and still trying to squeeze money out by adding paid dlc exclusive tames, idk why ark players dont boycott this shit, you get better content by supporting modders instead of WC and snail games. Maybe if players stopped buying up every slop they put out maybe they would stop taking advantage of the playerbase and actually work on the game and make meaningful content or better yet bankrupt themselves so they can sell ARK to another publisher.

As good as it looked, original Center bossfight was cheesy af. There were a lot of ways to cheese the fight, first in gamma with pumps, and at the end it was cheesable with Velos in Alpha, so it makes kinda scense

@@user-nl9mq1ey7d you got both the Brood and Monkey tek engrams, as well as alot of element, also the caves are relatively easy, so you could do that fight in like 2 hours from wipe
The center needs something like Modar from Genesis it need an underwater boss I hope there are mods for that
You can also get Scorched engrams on the Island, I think because all maps are free they’re just removing the tedium of map switching just to get engrams so you can quickly unlock anything anywhere
The only people who complains about the new arena are the one's who were always cheesing the boss fights by climbing onto the buildings all the time.
Or you know just maybe they don’t like it?

something to note about the SE engrams is that you can actually learn them on the island as well. I'm assuming all the engrams are learnable on any map now
The trees on lava island is really weird doesn't seem right at all but i do like the added detail and seems like there is more areas for ratholes ect
I really like the center. I think the only thing i dont like is how much foliage is at the volcanic island. I dont think there should be that much, otherwise it is beautiful. Wildcard did a good job.
Pyromane's design is lackluster. Simple tufts of fur that ignited would've felt more tangible and real.
I thought I was the only one who thought it looked bad. Cheesy, out of place, and pay to win.

Okay, I admit a couple things are nice like the land bridge on the starter island and the outer area is not absolutely barren. My issue is that the skull/bat head “island” is more of a take it or leave it situation since the lava was kinda nice, the lave island is completely ruined, and worst of all, they annihilated the starter island that the land bridge connects to! I have so many good memories on that starter island like using a diplo is jump in unintentionally but, this is never going to be that same and it makes me glad that I decided to abstain from the new ark since management is so shitty there.
Been waiting for this map for a while. Looks like it was worth it. Can't wait to give it a shot!👏

Its not a reskin of the Shadowmane, its a variant of the Mane species. I think it could be "viewed" as a reskin. Im happy they are doing variants of existing creatures.

Pyromane and Shadowmane are similar, but also have different abilities. One has a ton of fire abilities and can turn into a shoulder pet. The other can turn invisible, basically fly, and a buff.

That island always looked like a skull, hence why it was always called Skull Island. No idea why you would think it looked like Batman lol
You could learn scorched earth engrams on island already. You don't need the maps to learn engrams anymore. Like how they started doing with later maps. On fjordur you could learn any maps engrams.
You could learn the SE engrams on the island when SE came out

What should have been done is just make really good skin packs like bobs tall tales without the shovels trains and make the oaisiaur in the base game. Instead we get pay to win and when you’re fire shadowmain dies dw just revive it with the oaisiaur you bought

Everything is just a jungle with some cliffs, even the formerly desolate volcanic biome or the fiery skull island. The boss arena is a flat unfinished circle with equally unfinished rectangles around it and just feels off. The Shasta isn’t that revolutionary, and it’s saddle requirements are tremendous. The pyromane isn’t worth the five dollars and is literally a reskinned shadowmane, so pretty low effort for something costing that much. It’s also very pay to win as it will be overpowered for raiding bases, rat holes especially.
The center was never my favorite map, and these changes made it even less unique. Don’t like it.
Absolutely love what was done to center, lava like many say is meh mainly because just tooo much also doesn’t really scream “lava island” more of jungle lava island lol

You were able to learn the SE engrams on the island since the release of SE on ASA.
Ark showed their true feelings towards us fans when they did no disk then paid to play now pay to win the release issue etc

You can learn the SE engrams on the island as well I learned them all before transferring to SE

A point that brokies and cheapies don't get. The maps weren't free on ASE and therefore the tames with them weren't. The Center is free and the Wale. The Fire Shadow mane is $5, 5 flicking dollars plus whatever else comes down the line. Shadowing were not free. You had to buy the dlc for gen 1 n 2. Therefore none of those tames were free

I have nothing against the map but the pay to win bullshit is not ok . Cosmetic im ok with but game changing tames locked bihend a pay wall is just not fair. This is a big resson why many big ark players go back tk ase . We paid the game for a second time just so we can get stuck bihend more hiden paywall . Make no sence . Just money grab scummy bullshit . 5$ is not alot sure but just the fact you need to pay again for op tames is not ok.

I dont understand the hate, because I played the center on ASE and it was soooo boring and plain, now it feels way more alive and worth to play. The Center used to feel and look like island 2.0 now it feels a little bit more like a separate map.
And as someone mentioned a lot of dinos are "re-skined" for mod dinos, its okay and honestly 5dll is not expensive at all, and im from mexico guys, i see it cheap and fun

A little underwhelmed by The Center. It isn't bad by any means, just meh. The underworld more so.
Yeah wildcard thought it’d be a good idea to remove the underworld but you can just easily swim out of the mesh in certain spots that I found in 10 minutes, the center looks way too rushed like they only worked on it recently while promising it soon so they didn’t have time to fix the holes and add the underworld, would have much rather them take their time and release the center in it’s entirety not remove the entire underworld and entrances
@@Spritzgeeb1653but the underworld is added. And has been retextured and the sun has been improved..? You can access it through the same methods as ASE..? The center was remade by the same guy who made it for ASE too, it was all his choice and his artistic design. He even came out and said the ASE center was awful and rushed.
