I've wanted to be a pilot for as long as I can remember! The passion started when I was 4 or 5 years old. Bought my first version of MSFS (and other sims like Solo Flight) when I was 16 and bought my first PCs (Commodore-64 and Amiga 500). That was in the mid 1980's, long before the internet and beautiful graphics LOL. Exactly 16 years later, I was finally able to afford flight lessons and get my PPL, at Teterboro Airport (KTEB) in NJ. MSFS has been an instrumental part of my aviation passion for over four decades! Used for practice and fun. Now in VR only for the past few years. Looking forward to 2024! 🙂 Good job with the interview 👍🏾 BTW, tell them to leave the military stuff to DCS! 🤣 Personally, I'd prefer to see them use those resources on an ATC system that's closer to real world functionality! Long Live Flight Simulator! Shoutout to Bruce Artwick and SubLogic.
Everything is expensive nowadays lol. That said.....if you want it bad enough (like I did), make it happen. It's something that I've wanted for as long as I can remember (4 or 5yrs old). I was 32 with a wife and small kids by the time I started taking lessons and got my PPL. That was 25 years ago. Prior to that, all I did was flight simulators (MSFS and others) since I was 16 and bought my first PC (Commodore-64) 😂 MSFS has been an instrumental part of my aviation passion for over four decades! Used for practice and fun. In VR only for the past few years.
Thanks for that interview! For me, the best content of this preview event yet, THANK YOU! I LOVE how they listen to feedback, you literally convinced seb to add waketurbulence on ships 😂❤
wow that many shortage of pilots, and yet you basically can't get a job / career in aviation. you have to buy your way in. same as racing. i have done some basic flight training and huge aviation / race car enthusiastic person, but have tried to get a career into aviation manufacture / engineering. but get rejected because i am dyslectic. for getting my PPL, i wanted to but have put all my hard earned money into dental work i needed. anyway so glad for MSFS and look forward to MSFS2024.
It’s not that they couldn’t do it it’s that it’s under a license agreement with the aircraft manufacturers themselves that’s it’s not to show their particular aircraft being damaged or obliterated in the sim. So in effect their hands are tied in that respect. It’s not that they COULDN’T show soft body deformations, it’s that the CAN’T show soft body deformation due to licensing agreements.
@@crackerbarrel6965 As much as we'd like damage/crash physics, that actually makes sense when you think about it. After all, it's a "flight" simulator, not a crash test dummy simulator for dummies. 🤣 IRL, we train and do everything in our power NOT to crash!

It’s so true, I’m currently trying to get into united airlines academy, I got msfs2020 last month and I’ve learned so much in that time frame it’s insane, I can’t wait for msfs2024 and I can’t wait to start flight school, msfs has only made me want to become a pilot anymore
Depends on where and when you are in the world. On a clear sunny day (so no haze) everything looks very saturated, especially in summer when the colors pop. When I return from holiday in the summer I'm always amazed how saturated all the colors were over there and how bland everything is in my home country (The Netherlands, which it seems you are also from). Here we have a lot of haze and clouds. I went flying a month ago when the weather was very clear and I actually had to increase my screen saturation by a whole lot to match what I had just seen from the sky, the green color of the meadows was so incredibly green! So your experience on colors may vary a lot.
I guess it means that MS bought the Aircraft so they can be included into the base game, so you don't have to buy them separately from the marketplace.
I dont think they want to add anything law enforcement related for heli missions because I think they're trying to take a "safe" approach to sensitivity and making the sim rated for all ages. Plus law enforcement things would take a lot of coding to do.. But maybe we'll get user created law enforcement missions in the future.
I wish there was a way to make the simulator more realistic. There has to be someone smart enough to do it, but I get it, it's a laborious process and this flight model / design is very hard. DCS comes pretty close.
This is no Hagen towards you or your channel but I'm curious as to how you got invited out there and just really was wondering how many people went out there
Not a problem. Both blu and xp were invited seperately by xbox because of their youtube channels. Almost 100 youtubers and media outlets were invited to the event
This idea of adding inventory (even sounding cool) for a pilot character and stuff of similar kind are not good approach. This has nothing to do with flight simulator and there is probably so much other areas that are of concern and can be improved of instead of doing more game stuff and wasting resources. Lets not make a carrear mode a main aspect of a flight sim. Its a great feature that will bring more people in but at its core thia is a sim and core simmer is target audience that will stick around at the end as always. Put an accent as much as possible at realism. That is the way... For now, it looks good...
Why do you people not get that they know the core simmer is their core audience? I myself am a core simmer and like my free flights, but that's not all I want in a flight sim. I like this innovation, and LM/LR aren't doing crap. I say this as a person who most likely will only be able to experience free flight in this sim due to accessibility concerns. Also, these aren't scripted missions, it's a full on management sim after training and competes with the likes of Onair, with maybe less emphesis on the economy and MMO stuff.
It’s not that they couldn’t do it it’s that it’s under a license agreement with the aircraft manufacturers themselves that’s it’s not to show their particular aircraft being damaged or obliterated in the sim.
Train sim is actually an awesome idea. They actually recreated the whole world in stunning detail. Putting trains on it would make perfect sense.
Bring back MSTS!
Great interviews with very insightful questions - thanks for this. Jorg is an awesome guy. He has done wonders for flight simulation.

amazing interviews - great job! you really got me thinking about 3rd party planes in the career mode, it's a shame David never answered your question.
Great questions all so many people miss the important questions and repeat the same thing.

Your right, aviation WAY to expensive.
I want to fly whole my life. But don't have the money.
Good questions! Seb is a treasure. Thanks for sharing
I worked at a scout camp this summer, and one of the staffers taught Aviation MB, using MSFS 2020 for teaching purposes.
With the amount of physics detail they're simulating, crashes would look nuts! It's a shame they don't show damage.
It's amazing that they haven't figured that out

Will helicopters in MSFS2024 be visible as helicopters to other players in online play? In MSFS2020, helicopters are currently displayed as planes.

What does 30 Payware Microsoft flight simulator-developed aircraft mean?
I guess it means that MS bought the Aircraft so they can be included into the base game, so you don't have to buy them separately from the marketplace.
