- Mason Brook of Georiga had a ton of success last season using a simple, yet very effective tactic with the WIND! This technique gives bucks all the confidence to move in daylight, yet positions the hunter for the perfect stand location. Subjects include:
Hunting a property that us almost entirely cutover
Locating subtle terrain features in an area with little terrain
Strategically hunting downwind of other hunters
Learning specific routes bucks use to travel through cover

I stalk hunt with a turkey mouth call giving the deer the wind, and follow them into their beds then I sneak up to there beds and watch for them to get up an going for water or food.
It’s always worked for me. Year after year.
Been doing this since I was 6 just couldn’t shoot them till I got my license. My very first deer I shot was an old major Buck. I grew up in Canada and I’ve noticed the deer in the USA 🇺🇸 are much smaller than Canada. Iowa seems to have nice big bodied deer.

Special management zone .. It’s along edges of a wet weather stream or creek beds that’s left after a clear cut . The trees are left up to so many yards from the water’s edge .

Whenever i meet anyone who thinks they got whitetail figured out. And or , think there a great hunter. I tell them. Come up to the mountains in the bigwoods, here in essex and clinton county NY ware i am n. This territory will make u earn it!

This for the first time in 40+ years of hunting my vacation days will not be that Halloween -first week of November “magical “ time frame. I’m going with what my cameras have told me the past 3 seasons , first couple weeks of October I have had more daylight mature scrape activity than the rest of the entire season. I have got confirmation on this through your podcast guest who have talked about same dates/same place/same bucks scenarios. Cameras don’t lie, we shall see if King falls this year after 3 years of chasing him. Thanks for all of the valuable info that continues to confirm what we are seeing in the woods !

I just don’t understand why you guys do podcasts with these guys? Seems like anyone & everyone is on a podcast now. This guy keeps talking about what “deer” are doing, I don’t care what they are doing, I care about what mature bucks are doing. Why in the world should I listen to someone who shoots 3 1/2 YO deer? Ain’t nothing about that property trophy managed. This was just hard to listen too.. Sorry but Nathan Killen is king.
