Yeah, that mechanic is quite confusing and not well-known, but it doesn't really break the game and I'm pretty sure the devs intended it to be there, which is why I called it out in these videos. It's definitely a surprise for most raiders when the floor becomes lava!
@@Strycken1 100% haha , I can’t understand the mechanics of the building when it turns from normal /difficult/brutal as I just raided a base with at minimum 30 sentinels if I did that how he did it would be classed as brutal not normal some how
After 4 hours of messing with the building mechanics I’ve made a base with 30 sentinels and 17 pistons and it’s only a “normal” difficulty that’s crazy!

One thing I've learned is that 50% of raiders have absolutely no sense of spatial awareness. The amount of times I've watched raider clear every single trap in my base only to die to a single cube in the floor absolutely baffles me.
One design I've done that works wonderfully is a spiral staircase , but the corners are ramp blocks angled so that the very corner drops you into a corrosive cube. Placed right around a GenMat will make them weary of second wave traps, so they'll hug the back wall only to fall right into a corrosive trap.
I've noticed that too lmao, I just have 1 cube in a room and somehow everyone would've fell into it once

Kinda glad you didn't mention the 2nd wave targeting bug. Makes the video more evergreen.
Yeah, that bug is almost certain to get fixed in the very near future (there's a patch coming on the 18th at the latest, I believe, which will likely include a fix if it's not deployed before then). A fix would invalidate anything I said about it in the video. Moreover, abuse of the bug may lead to some sort of repercussions for people who take advantage of it to an extreme degree, so I really don't want to point people down that path in any other way than "Don't do this".
@@Strycken1 fair enough. Im pretty sure the patch on the 18th will be the first patch as the certification process for consoles takes a few days and there's no way they'd risk there first content drop for a non-critical bug fix (even if its a high priority one)

I would've liked to see a clip of how the liquid splash worked while you talked about it, but great video, very informative
Splash cubes and a horde of guards are a match made in heaven.
Don't try to grapple through cubes with the splash mod because the effect will hit you as you come out the other side and kill you. It's great to bait people by placing obvious traps behind them with a space in between. They'll see it, shoot it and grapple through to get their bolt and die by the splash effect.
Make a path to the genmat, and then make the way back inaccessible with the second wave corrosive cubes, forcing them to take the alternate route that was previously blocked by a second wave holo cube. And it doesn't disturb Harvey. Brilliant.
How doesn't it disturb Harvey? Testing it out, he walks it but before activating, it says that there isn't a clear Harvey path. How do you bypass this?
I always scan the outside of a base for corrosive cubes. Maybe I can sneak in or clear some trouble by throwing a grenade.
I usually set up a corrosive cube trap 3 blocks thick at the end of my outpost to fool people like you
There's a way to force the player to go one way and harvy another? Like make harvy walk an impassable road or something
None that I'm aware of, though it's certainly possible to... let's call it "encourage" this behavior. HRV's path can be hidden incredibly well, and the raider will very often choose to follow the nearest thing that looks like a HRV pathway, so by obscuring the real path it's often possible to convince the raider to follow the path you want. Just don't make it look *too* suspicious!

I tried making a path with the second wave lava cubes
How do you set an incinerator behind a cube and hide it as I came across this but I built it and it won't work
Don't make use of this - it only works right now because of a bug that the developers have acknowledged and said that a fix is in progress.
I wasn't able to grapple through one cube with splatters on it :/ it killed me. Maybe I was just super unlucky. But I don't risk trying to pass them this way after that.
Splatter can be nasty when grappling through, but there's actually a trick: if you're about 2 blocks away from the corrosive cube the splatter blob won't have enough velocity to reach you, so you'd have to be incredibly unlucky to die from it. If you're much closer than that though, splatter can definitely give you an unpleasant surprise!
