New Crankshaft Position Sensor from 1AAuto.com 1aau.to/ib/1AEC...
This video shows you how to install a crankshaft position sensor on your 2003-2011 Honda Element. The crankshaft position sensor is an important component of any electronically controlled ignition system. The sensor provides the computer with data about the position of the crank shaft to properly adjust ignition timing. If the sensor in your vehicle is broken or malfunctioning, you may suffer poor performance, or get a check engine light.
Once the sensor is installed, you will need to follow the relearn procedure. This can either be done with a manufacturer scan tool, or manually with the following procedure:
    1. Start the engine. Hold the engine speed at 3,000 rpm without load (in Park or neutral) until the radiator fan comes on.
    2. Test-drive the vehicle on a level road: Decelerate (with the throttle fully closed) from an engine speed of 2,500 rpm down to 1,000 rpm with the A/T in 2 position or M/T in 1st gear.
    3. Repeat step 2 several times.
    4. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
    5. Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and wait for 30 seconds. The crank pattern learn procedure is complete.
This process should be similar on the following vehicles:
    2003 Honda Element
    2004 Honda Element
    2005 Honda Element
    2006 Honda Element
    2007 Honda Element

I’m wont if you really answer questions, so I’ll try. Is changing the sensor on the Honda Fit 2012 in the same location as in this video? And is this sensor a likely cause of my ig. Coils going bad after 3 or 4 thousand miles?
    Thanks for answering.

+Ronnie Hart This procedure might be different for your application. We do not currently have a how-to video for this particular year, make and model. Thank you for asking! 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ

Will a bad crank shaft sensor cause my 07 crv to keep cranking and not start.

If the new cranshaft position sensor doesn't line up snug(there's a gap) after tightening the holding bolt, is it still usuable? Or would it be better for us to keep the old one until we buy one that fits snug with no gaps?

Hey, I had removed the crankshaft position sensor because it failed, then I wanted to remove the pulley to change the oil seal. Is there a problem if I already remove the sensor and turn the pulley? It affects how I leave it in the correct position.

+Joseph Mitre We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c

I have 2004 Honda pilot It cranks but it does not start. At first, I thought it was the timing belt but the timing belt looks good. The car has a new battery, starter, and an alternator. The fuel pump is okay. We haven't checked the crankshaft position sensor yet. I know a while ago when I took it to dealer for a recall they mentioned the tensioner so I don't know if this is the problem but the guy helping me thinks that part is also okay. Can someone help me here? If it happens to be an engine problem then it is not worth fixing it. The problem started while I was driving and I stopped at a traffic light; it shut down. I put it to the parking and started it. So it started but then completely died after a few minutes. Thank you for any help.
