I'm going to take the test in a few weeks and honestly I feel so nervous and worried although I have done a lot of preparation for this test. maybe that my result won't be great but I will look back and proud of myself cuz I did try hard xD

Hello Jacky, I would like to ask regarding to using personal experience in the essay, are we allowed to write about it in any task they give, or are there any exemptions? Thank you
There are no hard and fast rules. Some teachers say that you should never use a personal example. My view is, if your experience is directly related to the essay question, then that's fine. I hope this helps.

How we can create the topic sentence on for the2 examples? Do we summarize the questions or what?
Here is my recommended essay structure for double question essays.
1) Introduction
• Paraphrase the question
• Outline sentence - state your answer to both questions
2) Main body paragraph 1 - Answer question 1
• Topic sentence - state your answer
• Explanation - develop the idea
• Example - give an example
3) Main body paragraph 2 - Answer question 2
• Topic sentence - state your answer
• Explanation - develop the idea
• Example - give an example
4) Conclusion Summarise both questions and answers

Hi Temur,
There is no official rule about whether or not you can use personal examples in an IELTS essay. Some teachers will tell you that you should never use personal examples whilst others are less strict about this.
My personal view is that it would be preferable to use a more general example. However, it is better to use a personal example, if that is all you can think of, than to have no example at all.
It is often possible to turn a personal example into a general one by changing the pronouns and the tense. Compare the following two sentences to see what I mean.
I found that taking up exercise gave me more energy rather than tiring me out as I had expected it to.
Many people find that taking up exercise gives them more energy rather than tiring them out as they expect it to.
It would be a good idea to practice doing this so that you are well prepared if the situation arises in the exam.

this essay exceeds 290 words which is a limit to write task -2 ... by exceeding the word limit it could affect the bands ?
You are required to write 250 words or more for a task 2 essay. 250 words is the minimum you must write. It will affect your band score if you write fewer than 250 wordsbut not if your write more than 250 words.

Do you think the arts still have a place amongst our modern lifestyles?
Should the arts be included in the school curriculum?

@@IELTSJacky I mean! Can i write 'in my opinion'.? Since this is question type essay, i think this is directly causes and solutions essay or isn't? Thus, this essay more a discussion essay (where we often avoid 'I' or 'Our opinion'). Anyhow! I don't know exactly. Please clarify there are some essay types where Opinion is not give. :)
@@onkar7473 You are correct. In this type of essay, you would not write 'in my opinion'. The only types of essay where I would recommend that you use this phrase or 'I believe...', is an opinion essay or a discussion essay that asks for your opinion in the question. Instead, just set out your arguments in the way I suggest in the lesson.
In answer to your last point, all essay types ask for either your opinion, thoughts, beliefs or view on the topic of the question.

I would be interested to know where you got this question from. It looks like a combination of a discussion essay and an opinion essay. I would not expect to see such a question on a genuine exam paper. I suspect that it has been changed by someone from the original that possibly appeared on a test paper. This is what I think the original question would have been.
“Some people consider computers to be more of a hindrance than a help. Others believe that they have greatly increased human potential. How could computers be considered a hindrance or a potential for the human?”
This is a discussion essay.
