My father suffered from RSD(CRPS) since 1987 and it, ironically, was triggered by a motorcycle accident. He was hit by a drunk driver and he had a compound fracture to his leg. Years later, the pain was so severe he shot his own leg in hopes the Drs would amputated it. But, as she stated, the Drs informed him it wouldnt have made a difference even if they did take his leg. My father was the strongest man I know and raised my two brothers and myself as a single parent. The dozens of surgeries and excruciating pain never made him waver from being an incredible father. I lost my beloved Daddy on April 16, 2016, but it feels like yesterday. I know he is resting pain free in the arms of our Heavenly Father and look forward to seeing him walking, limp free and no longer in pain, on the other side of heaven.

My name is mark and I feel your pain because the exact same thing happened to me May 25th 2016. I was hit by a car while riding my motorcycle and was told my right leg had to come off the rest of the way. I refused and endured 25 surgeries so far with approximately 2 more to go. I also spent 3 months in the hospital. I can walk now and I'm glad I refused to have it removed. The pain is hard to endure most days and I refuse to take narcotics. I feel your pain too. God bless you and stay strong!

I have chronic pain and depression. I have been in Ohio for five years and the pain clinics and doctors I have had, have been terrible. I think the war on drugs has scared doctors from giving pain medication. I now have to take antidepressants because living with constant pain is really effecting me adversely and I am now very depressed.

Thank you for sharing this story! I have crps (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome)! And everything said is 100% true! It can come from a fall! In my case! It’s taken a long road to acceptance! But the pain never leaves! Thank you for sharing this with all people!!🧡🦋🙏🧡

Debb, I had RSD?CRPS in both feet and knees. My feet are totally better now but I still struggle with my knees. I was bedridden and had ketamine infusions. I got much better by reading the works of Dr. Sarno. It's a disease that stems from faulty signaling in the brain and our brains are neuroplastic. Check out the TMS. Wiki and "Unlearn Your Pain" by Dr. Howard Schubiner.

Debb liles do you have pain all over ? I have chronic pain syndrome I’m a medical biller and coder also, and complex regional pain syndrome is different but it’s just as painful everyday as chronic pain syndrome. Which is what I have, is your pain in your arms or legs or all over ?

I have a lot of compassion for this woman & the pain she's in, b/c I've experienced the same after a near fatal head-on collision. Anyone in pain? Do whatever you must to take care of yourself, be gentle, love yourself as much as you can, ask for help, & most importantly, allow the heavy emotions underneath all that pain to flow. What you are feeling, you are HEALING. I let go of trying to 'cure' my pain via medical modalities (which IMO treat the symptoms, not the true underlying cause of pain) & focused mainly on the underlying heavy emotions I hadn't even been aware I was holding within. I'm not 100% pain free yet, but I'm getting there. If you're reading this & you're in chronic pain, start digging deep about how you truly FEEL. Again, what you are feeling, you are healing. It seems all New Agey woo woo, but it's actually not, it's based on Eastern medicine, the science of chi -- energy within our body gets 'stuck' when we fail to express & allow & honor our emotions & ourselves. So, FEEL the anger, fear, sadness, hurt, & you'll be shocked by how quickly your body will respond in a positive way. I promise you, it works! Good luck!

Look if she was going to loose her leg it wasn’t her husbands choice ok just saying!!! Drs try their best to save limbs it’s not relatives choice please don’t even talk crap!!!! Athletes loose limbs. Olympic runners loose legs you suffered but it was not a choice ok!!! People who have lost limbs never wanted their amputations!!! Don’t ride on motorbikes if you value your life.

What kind of bs is it that they asked him when they obviously needed to ask her. If I'm not mistaken she was awake and coherent before they pulled that crap.

She was in a coma. Because of the severity of the situation, Doctors had to act fast to save her life which included putting her in a coma. It's was during the coma, that they assessed the damage to the leg and determined that amputation was the likely outcome. Now when you have a shattered limb, the blood flow to the surrounding tissue in the limb gets disrupted and can cause the limb to die. As this is such a time sensitive matter, Doctors will consult with the patients family and ask how they would like to proceed.
