The clips they showed for Ricochet were unintentionally hilarious. Arm wrestling! And Lithgow beating Denzel! Lmfao Also I’ve never seen Gene back pedal at the end of a review like he did here. It seemed like he was arguing in favor of it.
Ricochet is one of these movies you never believe it could have released. Many cop thrillers I have seen but never something so outrageous, confusing, incredible, out of its own place, amazingly silly and with so many plot twists that I almost suffer a heart attack
There were no children in danger in Ricochet. Lithgow gave that impression to Denzel in a video, but the kids (to their knowledge) were never actually threatened or scared by Lithgow directly.
Little Man Tate is an extremely well made film. But Ebert & Siskel dont explain how heartbreaking the film really is. That stuck to me more than the comedy & touching scenes. I still havent given it a second view because of the sadness that really is like a grey cloud over the whole film. Harry Connick Jr really surprised me. Maybe one day I will give it another view but I really have to brace again for the heart aches
At the end, Bob Hopkins uses an inhaler to breath under water. That is one of the only things I remember from this film since it's been 30 years since I last saw it. Now, could that work? Would that work? I dunno. However, I will never forget it!
i just turned 49 when i was about 36 i dated for the last time a women that was much younger than me and i am really jaded on the whole thing now. i mean automatically the older man is sort of seen as the bad guy or a predator or something "they were not underage". but honestly i felt like they sort of wasted my life and they were young and fickle and not shockingly eventually started liking guys usually that they saw at work every day that were in their own age range. since then i sincerely have no interest in women that arent within a year or two of my own age, there is just something about being in a relationship with someone that grew up in the same world that you did, that was in high school the same time you were and experienced the same changes in the world that you did. so you just off the bat "Franke And Johnny" doesnt interest me because he is like 20 years older than her and yes he is an ex con there is nothing romantic about it. and i thought the same as Roger that an obviously attractive waitress is a little difficult to buy as being lonely and unwanted.
Nobody cares about your life story, even less about how that makes you uninterested in a film you've never seen. Also, just cuz something happened to YOU doesn't mean it applies to all similar relationships. Considering how pretentious and long-winded you come across here, maybe the relationship didn't work cuz of YOU, and didn't have anything to do with the age difference. 🤷♂️ Also, don't preach about what is or isn't romantic. I've known several couples with significant age differences and they not only have very healthy & successful relationships, but their "origin story" is indeed quite romantic.
Shattered was brilliant...until Bob Hoskins returns at the end! I love the actor & his character, but that scene ruins what had been a genuinely brilliant film!
We don't know how long they had been driving for, it was night when Hoskins and the protagonist went into the boat but it was day time when it cut to the girl and Jack in the car implying it had been a long time so enough for him to get bandaged and the helicopter as for how he was saved? the inhaler was just a joke, he was kidding around when he said that, in reality he gathered himself and got out of the water or the cops helped him out, neither is ridiculous as he was only shot in the shoulder.
Those videos always make me curious to see the movies featured. I just watched Ricochet and it's one of the most ridiculous movies that I ever seen, even for action-movie standards. Also I watched Frankie & Johnny and it's a total waste of time.
Haven't seen Frankie & Johnny but just from the clips it really feels like two glamorous actors playing dress-up. Pfeiffer and Pacino are both talented but I don't buy them in the roles they're playing, so I have to side with Roger on this. Of course, that's from a few minutes of a clip, not the whole movie.
Shattered is worth a watch! You will NEVER predict what happens.
Ricochet is batshit crazy from start to finish and I love every insane moment of it.
Couldn’t agree more. Just watch recently and can’t believe that movie even exists.

SHATTERED is an underrated gem!

Love this show. We need 1080p versions some day

R.I.P. Bob Hoskins.
God,He was good. Also reminds me of Jack Warden who was SO GOOD in Heaven Can Wait,Shampoo,Being There:)
He was always a highlight in just about any role.
Ricochet is one of my favorites

I love Frankie & Johnny!
Shattered is awesome. Love it. It's not any more preposterous than some Hitchcock movies ( like Spellbound or Marnie).
Agreed. Shattered was essentially classic Hitchcock without Hitchcock. Still entertaining to this day!

No scenario is too silly. The key is execution.
Bob Hoskins I like, and Berenger is good
@@TheNameisPlissken1981 as a kid I always carried an inhaler so I hope it’s tru! Sherlock also used one!
Lol Siskel was beginning to feel embarrassed about his semi-positive review of Ricochet
He did the same type of review for 1996 Broken Arrow. He recommended it & then flipped to a thumbs down after just thinking about it. Insane
Thank u
Shame Gene Siskel didn't get to screen Inglorious Basterds:)

Are you guys kidding me or what 😳 Ricochet 1991 was a very good movie 🎥

Maybe stick with Wahlberg movies
I like both Denzel Washington and John Lithgow as actors, but Ricochet was awful.
