Maybe a dumb question but if you put a stronger an bigger magnet on it it should float as well because even if it is heavier it is stronger in repelling itself from the coils. So with a strong enough field it could be used to display books, etc. So here is the question: is this right or am I stupid? ^^
Tehnica de a reusi este ca fortele magnetice sa fie aproape la fel.....daca magnetul de jos e mai puternic decat cel plutitor, vei avea stabilitate proasta si consum mare de curent. si pozitia senzorilor trebuie sa fie stabiliti toti la fel in aceiasi inpreuna cu bobinele. si dupa faci niste schimburi de resistente pana nimeresti exact frecventa de stabilizare. schema exacta nu am....mam uitat pe google de niste scheme. resutul depinde cum faci proiectul, pentru ca resistentele difera dupa cum construesti. scuze dar nu stiu sa scriu bine engleza si de aceia nu prea raspund la comentarii.

Two questions: 1. The Multimeter showing .02 to .15... are we talking amperage here, and the '.02' then is 20 ma? 2. Is this your own design? Or did you find it on youtube and build your own? Congrats either way... very interesting to watch!
You don't need to, hall sensors are directional sensors. They will pick up only magnetic field from the top, the electromagnets are below the sensors so they will be not picked up.
Bandi Szasz that does not make sense since the electromagnets magnetic force is not stopped by the sensor and can therefore affect the perceived strength of the permanent magnet.. The hall sensors must be picking up noise from the electromagnets, the question is how does he handle that..
The circuit is very simple and it's made after a rusian scheme that can be found with a simple search on google. I am working on a similar device, i almost finished it and i am waiting for the magnet's. The two IC are high power op-amps aka TDA audio amplifier IC's, I am using TDA2050 also TDA2030, TDA2040 or any dual supply TDA can be used. The working principle is very basic, the op-amps are configured in differential amplification mode with bridge output so the op-amps will amplify the difference between the two hall sensor and power the coils. When the magnet will move closer to one hall you will have positive potential output that mean's that one electromagnet will repel and the other one atract the magnet because the facing electromagnetrs are conencted in paralel with inverted polarity. When the magnet will move to the other hall sensor you will have negative potential on the output and the electromagnets will act the same but this in the oposit direction. There is no need for any filtering, you can the one hall sensor, place a magnet behind the sensor and you will notice that the sensor will ignor it. These hall sensor, at least those i have only pick up magnetic force with the source in front of them, any magnetic force comming from their back is not picked up.

la 0.02 intra pauza.....el consuma 250 ma. proiectul lam facut eu. am gasit niste exemple pe internet si miam facut o ideie.
ampermetrul e setat la 20 A. 0.02ma(20ma) cand intra in pauza, 0.14ma(140ma) fara greutate pe magnet
