Only award-winning actors would agree to take on roles that would make them look ugly, less appealing on the big screen...I admire Yoo Ah In for taking on a very challenging role, as viewed from the trailer of the film Burning. I look forward to seeing him perform in a historical drama again.
I watched all Lee Changdong's movies snd he is definitely a master. Peppermint candy, Oasis, Poetry, Secret Sunshine....are amazing just to name a few. He himself was a novelist before turning into a film director and all his movies are poetic and leterary, yet brutally realistic and poignant of human nature and behaviors. I love his movies. Definitely one of the most talented directors in Korea alomg with Park Chanwook, Kim Kiduk, Bong Junho, Kim Jiwoon etc. Korea has many amagingly talented film directors
Same. I also watched Lee Chang Dong's entire filmography, from Green Fish to Burning, and he's definitely what I would consider a modern master and one of the best filmmakers to come out of the Korean new wave of film
First time watching a Korean made film. I enjoyed it. The ending surprised me but after thinking about what the metaphor for Greenhouse was referring to, the river scene, the cat, the stuff in the bathroom it all made scene. Love movies like this.
A very intelligent movie and a great casting. Filmed fantasticaly. Loved it (anglo-americans don't get it when they summarize it with "sex" and "thriller" etc. No surprised here).
Rated high with applause but less than 600,000 viewership in Korea. Ordinary Korean audiences are prone to watch action-pack film like The Avengers Infinity in theatre where they have to sit more than two hours. Most of all, many of Korean audiences do not even follow what is going on. They do not understand metaphor. Apart from the fact that film industry conglomerates are stingy about art films. So sad, so sad. Director Chang-dong Lee has a few passionate film fans who willingly put reading books before browsing instagram on their timetable.
I don’t understand French and Korean, but I could tell that English translation was inaccurate as it was too short for a long answer.😅 BTW, Steven’s comment that he could be himself in this film, instead of Asian in the US, was touching.
Damn the 3 leads of this movies are so ridiculously hot
Great director. His films Poetry, Oasis and Peppermint Candy are masterpieces.
Don't forget 'Secret Sunshine'!
@@zoso8thegreat Don't forget Green fish!!
i agree
Oasis and peppermint candy literally tear your apart from inside
@@KaranSingh-ol8id Not literally, I hope... 😏
Burning should have won Palme d'Or
Fuck yes
i realize it's kinda off topic but do anybody know a good website to stream new tv shows online?
@Juelz Zander lately I have been using flixzone. Just google for it =)
Yoo ah in is the best korean actor and he deserves to be there and get more recognition 👌

So proud of you Steven Yeun 💕
One of the greatest film directors of all time not just Korean
The double translation makes it very difficult to follow.

koyukiny don’t forget my boy Bong Joon Ho, guy has been making consistently amazing films since the early 2000s
Hong Sangsoo

So proud of Steven Yeun :3
Yaahh Glenn.
Jun Jong-Seo looks gorgeous.
so does Dong
I prefer Steven Yeun
jong seo ya~
She always does
Soooo mad that Burning didn't win at least a Grand Jury or Grand Prix award!!!!!!
this movie was dope.
the translator did a good job!! I feel the stress beyond the screen 💞

Yoo ah in did awesome!! All of them did great. I really enjoy the dark of this film.
Very interesting film and superb cast. Stoked in seeing the film.
Great movie, and interesting answers from Lee. The guy with the beard at 30:18 doesn't seem to be so into it though.
Steven Yeun!!!
STEVEN YEUN BABY YOU DESERVE THE WORLD!
Just here for Yoo Ah In omg he's gorgeous
Would be better with translated subtitles put together in the post-production of the video. Double translation is indeed kinda hard to follow.
here I'm after 2 yrs later..
with questions on mind...
Me on 2020
I'm making a podcast on this film
Muhteşem bir filmdi özellikle pandomim filmde önemli bir yer tutuyor.
Jun Jong-Seo
Must be really, really good.!!!!!
I can feel Jeon Jong Seo’s anxiety through the screen 😢💔
Steven Yeun best
How come they could not find a competent translator?!!
Probably a lot of stress involved rather than a lack of skill
That guy is so inspired @30:18
Steven is good actor
통역이 참 아쉽네.. 저렇게나 엉뚱하게 의역해버리다니..&이창동 감독님 참 귀엽꾸염
So many things happened with the casts. Don't know if this movie going to be successful in Korea. But I definitely will watch it.

HGallagher That is not true. Koreans can appreciate a variety of genres, including art films, etc. Metaphor is a big part of Korean culture.

What a horrible translation!

It's because he never lived in Korea. Trust me after staying there for few months he would do whatever to get back to us lol
Terrific filmaking...what does it mean by burning of greenhouse?
No country for women...
also he was burning jong soo
Ça parle anglais ça traduit en anglais et le français dans tout ça ????
Pas du tout. Il y a également la version française de cette conférence.
Shit translation
Too many in facts.
in fact......

Is it me or does the guy in orange acts like he’s some sort of prince? He’s sitting there like Joffrey or some shit. Get off your high horse boy!
reck1224 I know I’m a year too late, but yoo ah in (the guy in orange) is actually really humble and down to earth. That’s just his resting face
do people like you ever shut the fuck up
It’s Yoon Ah In and he IS a prince!!
