Just getting into varmint hunting, but not sure that I want a dedicated set up that only caters to low light/after dark scenarios. Whats your thoughts on clip ons? Pros, cons? Maybe a video soon? Unfortunately the ballistics data on the box (velocity) won’t be accurate because it varies based on the barrel length and platform. Most are tested in 24-26 inch bolt action rifles, so for most people the velocity won’t be accurate at all
I have tested a bunch of factory ammo and the only ammo that matched the box velocities is Hornady 120 SST in 6.8 spc because it’s actually tested in a 16 inch barrel
@@YoteMike5 good rule generally but there are some other factors too. Better to chrono it to calculate your dope. There is definitely some box to box variation.
How well does the recoil activated recording work? Is it sensitive enough for very low recoiling rounds like 223 and 22-250? I have messed with some recoil activated recording devices in the past, however, with heavy bolt guns and small calibers (223 and 22-250), the lack of recoil wouldn't trigger the recording.
