I see thermal hog footage, I click. Garand Thumb recently spoke about how much of a game changer modern thermals are, and I know you aren't into the tactical/doomsday prepping sort of talk but when he said that I was immediately reminded of the info you've shared. Another great post, man.

@@TxKiller Back after going out a couple of times. I love everything about this scope! I am most impressed with how easy it was to navigate and use. Question, I am thinking about going with the 18650 extender. Do you know if it matters if it is a button top or flat top 18650 battery ?

I had a bolt on Flir T50 that was pretty solid but only worked up to 4x optics, specifically ACOGs. Solid unit but had it's quirks. Great channel content 👍

I like black hott as well. I've been run the agm rattler 35 killed many many hogs with it. 99% shot with black hott. I've shot on red hott maybe a handful of times. Nice work buddy . Love ur vids.

Seems to me the black and white based palettes might use less battery up but I don't know.

Hello, TK. This Chester from @theolddeerhunters. I did a review of this great new TH50 and in the manual it said there was an adapter to run an 18650 battery in the TH50. I think the part number is AC47. Is that adapter available yet? I figured you would know if anyone did. Thanks

@@TxKiller No believe me I understand, as pig hunting is secondary to my deer hunting, alls I can tell you is archery is a bitch when it comes to whitetails in the midwest.
Would something like the Modtac Rigid Suppressor Shield help to keep the heat mirage off the can from effecting the Thermal Sight? As it doesn't touch the suppressor.
I think I’m done experimenting with covers, but those do look interesting.

How would you compare it to the Rico Mk1 640 50mm?
I have a bolt 50v2 and my brother has the Rico 50 and they’re pretty comparable. I think the base mag is different.
Show us how to remove and install the internal battery?
The major failures like the ATN's. Users CAN NOT change the battery & no laser rangefinder.
How would you like to buy a car & you cannot change the battery and oil filter/oil? Only the company can do that.

Black hot is the only one I like to use.
i am liking the bolt scope. noticed in your video that there were a couple of instances where screen froze for a split second? was this a case of scope auto nuc?

Do you have a shop selling thermals?
Car mufflers use heat shielding, How come we can't do that with cans. With the 19-13 rail at the end it would be easy to mount a stainless shield backed with a thermal wool. Stainless doesn't like to take heat so it would push it down. And the synthetic wool would keep it from rising. The shield wouldn't even have to cover the whole can.
Because heat wraps already exist
@@justinfrye329 didn't he not already say that makes the problem worse it used to hold the heat in. But in doing so prolongs the cans heat making the thermal bloom last longer and heat soak up the barrel the shield would stop the rise from the view of the thermal while giving the can air to cool faster. The main goal of the wraps are so you grab your can while hot and check to make sure it's tight.
@@jesseiancassidy I heard him mention that after I commented. I use wraps on all mine and I’ve never head a problem with heat bloom while using thermal. It makes me wonder what wraps he is using.
@@justinfrye329 who knows but I have heard of they being a problem with sustained fire. That they get those cans so hot so much quicker. I have used a can before but then only for coyotes and I don't get to crank out that many shots so we didn't use wraps

15 mins of talking and about 6 mins of actual hunting.. sigh. I find that once you kill the sow, the babies are confused and don't know what to do. The experienced juveniles run off, but they hang around at times running in circles.
