I find it funny how SSKTJL Deadshot is supposed to be “the real one” and Arkham Deadshot is a fake, yet the fake is able to do inhuman shots while the “real one” can do none of that and needs a jet pack for mobility! ……..oh yeah and something about bad story, characterization and greedy live service elements.
@@heetman4785True, but I think the point that OP was making, is that we never see SSKTJ’s Deadshot land shots like that. I can excuse gameplay, because that’s up to the player, but even in cutscenes we never get to see his skills or finesse as an assassin. He’s just ‘ man with guns, and lacks all the character traits that make deadshot who he is.
@@SilentSnake1998When fucking Bullseye from the 2000s Daredevil movie has better showcasing of his "never missing" abilities using ZERO GUNS. Then you know you fucked up haha
For each of your ideas : 1. The Red Hood on the team sounds sooooooooooooooo fking cool!!! 2. The game being an Injustice sequel sounds incredibly smart 3. A Sushi Squad dating sim is a game I genuinely want XD
All they do is read (and steal) other people's works. 4th snake can actually create. He also doesn't hate the medium and doesn't just see it as a stepping stone
Considering a lot of this story is based on Sefton Hill writing, i wouldn't blame California. Or we admit the truth, that outside of Origins, which wasn't made by Rocksteady, Arkham verse had long standing writing issues which come to full display because now there's not Batman Animated Series fan service or creators to reign in some of the worst elements. Mark Hamill was carrying that series.
@@SoyboyPeter the pacing of City being absolute mess where Catwoman existence doesn't add much at all. Actual idea of exploring Arkham City narrative implications being yeeted the second ill Joker appears, sidelining Strange and Ra's so hard that they feel like as background extras. Wasting Ra's like they did is travesty. Most of side missions in AC were a built up which Arkham Knight failed to deliver. Tim Drake are punchline rather than being character. I have gripes with how meathead Batman gets and how writing seemingly can't decide if him always putting all his own shoulders is good or bad thing in both games where it's relevant, but is more nuanced than that. Mark Hamil is great, but it wasn't until Origins where his relationship with Bat got layers and in Universe thematic sense for Knight to actually built up on and, unlike Origins, both City and Knight don't know how for him being organically fit pitched plot before his reveal and he becomes a third wheel which takes most of screen time. Bane is abyss of writing, unless it's Origins, Paul Dini needs to be put away from ever writing him.
@@mikhaelgribkov4117 Ra’s wasn’t sidelined for Joker’s sake. Hush’s side quests is the only one that alludes to a sequel. But to be frank Hush isn’t main villain material and especially so for the ending of a series where you need a better villain to end on. Tim Drake was never treated as a punchline. In AC he managed to takedown dozens of Harley Goons and a Titan and managed to save Batman. Batman in AK is more protective of his allies because of the fear of losing them, especially so after what happened to Jason Todd and Talia. He had robin working on a antidote to the mental disorder titan caused to the 4 patients at Panessa and plus that antidote isn’t just for the patients, it’s also for Batman because the titan in his blood is still altering his thinking patterns.
Setting SSKTJL within the Injustice Universe does actually help make elements of the game more believable like Harley not being obsessed with the Joker or the usage of the multiverse
@@eugenekrabs2403 If they went down this route, I would’ve hated the game significantly less. The tumblr fanfic tier writing would be right at home with injustice, especially with the constant excess of character deaths for the sake of shock value, and the constant disrespect towards beloved characters. Not to mention the game’s surface level interpretation of every single squad member as well. I feel like the overall writing quality gap between KTJ and the Arkham games is easily one of the things that made it feel so jarring.
Not much in the case of Azrael as his negative outcome has him left brainwashed by the Order of Saint Dumas and unwilling to break free of their brainwashing, making it difficult for him to join the SS if it means defying the Order.
As far as I’m concerned, the Arkhamverse ended with Knight. I reject what has become of this franchise with every fiber of my being. If any of your pitches had become real, though, that might have been a different story.
The funny thing is, that the third concept ALREADY exists... at least gameplay wise. Midnight Suns is such a good game that many people avoided because of the card game mechanics, but it is exactly what you described: a superhero squad in X-COM style with relationship/bonding elements, character customization, and a story that is its own thing, yet allows for both new and old interpretations for certain characters. The way you can build your OWN squad too also allows for lots of options, be it more X-Men leaning, more villain/anti-hero leaning, and of course, their relationship and combos with each other is... truly remarkable. It is a shame we won't get a sequel for that game, as it was a really enjoyable and memorable experience.
I recently played Midnight Suns and I agree! Very good game, a shame it didn’t sell well but I fully get why it didn’t. Its a hard sell for a lot of people
The Batman park bench scene was the last straw that made me return the game when I was close to completion during launch week. I mean bro Batman literally manhandled Harley in asylum and city, and in knight took down an armored military force within the span of a night, there is no reason for him to have a tough time against these four noobs.
The whole almost pissing on the Flash's corpse thing could have worked if they just went pitch black with the Squad and presented them as demented serial killers but nope they have to be cutesy because "likable" despite not being so at all. Shows lack of commitment.
I love that Snake put more effort into getting around YTs bad word detection of Mid Squad : Shit the Justice League than Warner Bros did the entirety of the game
I actually like the first pitch that you did which really cemented the idea that could’ve saved this game from complete annihilation. And having red hood as a leader of the squad will be a very good choice.
I think Harley all of a sudden not being obsessed with Joker is something you could make a vid on for the Adaptive difficulty series. The problem is so much of recent Harley Quinn media revolves around her moving past Joker and seeing him for what he is but the Arkhamverse just didn't catch up to that narrative so they just have the more current version of Harley without explaining how she got there in the first place.
Given how terrible this game was, I'm just thankful for Crisis on Infinite Earths part 3 for Not making this the final performance of Kevin Conroy's Batman
@@aleanddragonITApraying this game gets the Concord treatment soon cause none of their DLCs have hit at all. Millenial Joker & H2-Olga really prove this team lacks in potential.
I personally feel like they could've made Captain Boomerang unique by giving him boomerangs that have unique properties while also referencing different DC villains like a Polka-dot Man boomerang that attacks like a sentry. Or a Mr.Freeze boomerang that freezes enemies. And I feel like they missed a chance for CB to steal Batman's Batarangs. And give him the most feared boomerang that criminals fear. But nope, let him just take something that makes him fast like Flash.
I think that third idea sounds incredibly awesome. Not only would it perfectly adapt the idea of the Suicide Squad and playing the role of Amanda Waller, but you could also incorporate some sort of mechanics where the Squad pursues their own agendas or you give them secret “off the books” missions (like how they tried to disable their bombs or Waller secretly gave Frost the job of killing Riddler in AoA), forcing you to do whatever it takes to keep them on a tight leash.
One of the things that bothered me the most about Batman in this game is how after he faked his death he just came back like nothing happened. Arkham Knight's ending suggested that now there is a new, more menacing Batman in Gotham, and turns out it's just the same dude.
Add to that the addition of Batman _Beyond,_ Terry McGinnis as a DLC skin and it's clear Rocksteady were teasing a future where an elderly Bruce Wayne allows Terry to "revive" Batman.
0:40 ok tbf for this one you could make this "criticism" about every continuity that has a Justice league. Also remember the arkham games all take place during a single night. Batmans probably known for his efficiency and they know he can take care of stuff
Those are some great ideas, specially the third one. I think a Suicide Squad should have a style similar to Marvel Ultimate Alliance, with the player being allowed to change the group line up through the game stages, showing how the group is constantly changing to fit with the missions or replace member who were killed.
The reason why Wonder Woman isn't one of the mind control Justice leaguers it's because in the comics she has something called Athena's sight which makes her immune to mind control also I feel like the game will be just better if we played as Wonder Woman instead of The suicide squad and after you free one of the mind control Justice League members you can play as them
For that last one I really like the idea of speed run category’s where you just slaughter the entire team in the first 10 minutes and have to play the rest of the game as Solomon Grundy or someone.
Still way too Batman focused for these playable characters. Doesn’t really matter if it’s in the same universe as the Arkham Games, that doesn’t mean all the damn characters have to Batman ones
I still think it would have been cool if they used the Crime Syndicate as the main villains, would’ve made the multiverse concept easy to work with. It would’ve been cool to make the Squad bigger and have more characters or even use The Flash’s Rogues as the main characters like in Forever Evil.
Suicide Squad should have been simply a new continuity to begin with. Batman and Wonder Woman being the last two Leaguers being unaffected from Brainiac should have been the setting. Batman working with the Squad and Diana being the muscle and fighting off the Leaguers and Brainiac drones. Wonder Woman, Batman, and the Squad frees the Leaguers but they die againr Brainaic. Batman and Wonder Woman then make a call to remake the League. A new Green Lantern appears, Kyke Rayner or Jessica Cruz. Black Lightning, Green Arrow, Black Canary, Supergirl, and Nightwing make the new members. Harley joins because she hero worshiped Wonder Woman. The Squad goes off on their on but will help the League when needed. Amanda Waller meanwhile makes a new Suicide Squad made up from left over Brainaic technology by making robots. Also have Deathstroke, Bronze Tiger, Killer Frost, Enchantress be nee Squad members. New Squad vs Old Squad will be a big thing while the New League sets up the Watchtower to combat Brainiac.
Really solid ideas here. I think it would already fix a lot of problems if the game was just not part of the Arkhamverse. I believe that was the original intention but they had to say it's in the Arkham games universe for marketing. But the premise of fighting the possessed Justice League would probably work better for some kind of Jusitce League B-Team game with "underrated" characters that are less exposed than the usual Justice League team. But I can see how it would be really hard to market, would be better for an expansion of a main Justice League game. Or maybe a Titans game. Either way without the "kill" part.
You should do one on the Avengers video game that came out in 2020. The biggest thing to me is that while the combat (minus hulk) is actually pretty fun, and the story started out good, it was crafted to make room for live-service looter shooter missions that was repetitive and didn't make you feel like you were an avenger. The characters barely interacted while you played together, you were mostly doing things like take down AIM robots or destroy a server so Jarvis can hack it or help the Inhuman alliance (by just smashing robots). That doesn't seem like Avengers level threats at all. Doing these missions felt like they didn't matter to the overall plot at all and were just to grind your level. It was shitty. Also shitty was the shear lack of villains. There was Abomination, Taskmaster, MODOK, and the Scientist Supreme (Monica) as the base game's bad guys and defeating them meant nothing because "clones" of them came back in villain threat missions. Nothing contributed to the story and ruined what could've been an awesome single player where you could switch between Avengers mid-mission while going on missions specialized to each character. There was also such a lack of character. Everyone was 2D and I hated it. It felt like an empty vessel of a game that could've been great if the devs actually cared about making a good Avengers game.
I wish we got to see what the justice league's lives in metropolis were like before the braniac mind control in a justice league game first before suicide squad kill the justice league because it just doesn't feel impactful at all seeing them already be evil knowing this is the very first time were ever seeing the justice league in the Arkham universe while the only justice league member we ever spent any amount of time with was Batman
All three of these ideas are really cool and sounds fun way more better than the actual game we got I really like the third one mostly as a standalone game where we’re just playing essentially RPG assassins. That sounds way more fun than killing superheroes.
A year? After everything people have said about Marvel Rivals in the beta, I cannot imagine Warner Bros. letting Self-Delete Squad: Defeat the Super Friends last another week.
the biggest wasted potential is the backstory of the Justice League members getting inspired to form a team because of Batman's actions in Arkham Knight which is a great setup for a Justice League game but nope they had to shit all over that
Here's another idea that could be interesting, let Bizarro join the Suicide Squad. While he is sometimes a villain he's only like that because supervillains trick him into doing bad. And he tries to be hero, he does more harm then good, so have join the Squad but have him be the one who's against killing the squad as he might want to just defeat them not kill them. And with the Justice League being brainwashed they could all give their reasons as to why each JL member thinks that Bizarro would be a terrible superhero. Plus with Bizarro on the team, it kinda makes it a bit believable that they can stand up to someone like superman.
Lets face it. The only reason WB keeps pushing Suicide Squad is because they want to replicate the success Guardians of the Galaxy had in the past decade. Suicide Squad isn't even all that popular as an IP. Sure, people liked the concept just fine back in the days but that's because it felt new and refreshing for DC.
Yeah ever since the game came out I always felt like it should’ve been a sequel to injustice at least that way with the kryptonian pill existing we have a cannon reason as to how the squad can stand toe to toe with the league
I'd be down for a Hawk and Dove beat em up style game, something akin to Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks. Would probably work best if it was with Henry Hall as Hawk and Dawn Granger as Dove, if they decide to add some kind of morality system for how you deal with bosses (Peacefully or brutally).. I suggest Dawn instead of Donald cuz that can be used as the basis to why Hawk would use more extreme tactics to win.
This is the one team that could have a legit Gacha mechanics. Think about it: -collect various supervillains -easily explain multiverse as actual pulls from another dimentions -if one dies, it goes on cooldown while you base summons a copy of it -it can be about anything you want -people won't get angwy about "ruining Arkhamverse" because haters will have easier time ignoring it -infinitely monetizable
In my head cannon, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is about the Squad teaming up with Batman, and in a kind of Batman Beyond way, he guides the Squad on how to defeat, but not kill, the Justice League. In return, Batman will remove the bombs in their necks and won't hunt them down if they go straight.
There's something sadly amusing about how two of the ways to fix this are basically just the bog standard "good guy Batman vs. mind-controlled | evil superheroes" idea with a mind twist. This game is that creatively bankrupt that it's actually an improvement for once.
For the Pitch #1 game, it would actually be pretty cool if since you couldn't decide on most of the Squad roster members, that you could actually choose them yourself as Waller gives Jason the freedom to release whoever he sees fit to join the team. This adds replayability!
Honestly if you wanna go for maximum dramatic effect with the Injustice version on how out of control Regime!Supes has gotten (and maybe serve as a way for Clark to maybe doubt himself and thus unintentionally give the heroes an edge), he visits Jonathan and Martha back at the Kent farm, going on about how much better things are now...and they've become utterly disgusted by him. Jonathan scolding Clark for becoming the kind of monster that he advocated for his release to fight and protect the world from, while Martha is mourning the loss of any remaining goodness in Clark's heart, ending with them disowning him.
I don't think the Kents should be alive by that point in Injustice timeline. It would make more sense for them (or at least one of them) to die by natural causes and Injustice Superman doesn't even know, showing how disconect from people he has become, including those he claims to care about.
@@alexandrefrauches132 I think they're still alive by the end of the Injustice 2 comic, but your angle can still work. Maybe their funerals were done and Clark didn't even bother to show up let alone react to the knowledge of their passing other than a casual dissatisfaction (like the kind you'd get from say, not having your favorite kind of cereal or something)
@@TheGraveKnight That's a possibility however I don't think Clark would even know his parents died. If he did, then his response would be to find someone or a city or planet to blame for their death and lash out his anger on it, considering how much of delusional tyrant he became, refusing to accept his flaws and limitations he thought and uncapable of accept that cannot save everyone or stop things like natural death.
God all of these are lightyears better than what we got. I really appreciate that you try and salvage sub par ideas like injustice and make them work. ❤
Just wanted to say this series inspired me to start YouTubing, and i made a video for anime along the lines of this series and its been my most successful video to date (imo) Thank you for pioneering because you always have a video that opens my mind. I shouted you out in my video too
I imagine the idiotic executives at current WB forced them to do so, which is why Rocksteady had so many of their original members leave during this game's development that only a hollow shell was left by time it released. After all, this is the same WB that has also a) repeatedly botched the DCEU for over a decade, b) delisted for a yeae and then released _Multiversus_ in a far worse and more monetarily predatory form, c) reportedly killed a more interesting Superman game for this one, d) probably *also* sabotaged _M1K_ by pushing it out early to give this game more time, e) made _Space Jam 2_ as a glorified LeBron James commercial, and too many other bits of stupidity to note just in recent years.
I loved the third idea (even though it started to sound really similar to MIdnight Suns at the end) and really liked the other two. My only gripe is the characters chosen, not from a story perspective but a gameplay one. I'll focus the most on the Arkhamverse centric one because you went the most in-depth with the characters. Deadshot, Red Hood, and Deathstroke all have too similar skill sets, so differentiating them in the gameplay can be problematic. Also, as cool as it would've been to honor the past games with the new characters, a big part of this game was opening the Arkhamverse to the rest of the DC Universe. So instead, new characters could've each been a villain from each hero's rouge gallery. For example: Livewire or Parasite for Superman, Cheeta for Wonder Woman, Captain Cold or Heatwave for Flash, and one returning villain for Batman. No one for Green Lanterns because they are all too strong to be in the Suicide Squad
I have a few problems with the Suicide Squad. One is the fact that they are starting to get overused, showing up in a lot of stuff and even getting their own isekai when Shazam would more easily translate into an isekai with his origin. I don't like that they are starting to get a static roster of Deadshot, Harley, Boomerang and King Shark when the main appeal is seeing any DC villain working together for a suicide mission. But the main thing that I dislike which a lot of modern Suicide Squad stuff does is make them fight world ending threats. Your last idea works well for a Suicide Squad game because its more espionage, low level and plausible deniability but a lot of stuff has them fight world ending threats, trying to turn them into scrappy rogues like the Guardians of the Galaxy when they are literal psychopaths and murderers who have to have a neck bomb to keep them in line. They should not be fighting a world ending witch, Starro or Braniac, that is for the Justice League or the Teen Titans, actual super heroes, the Suicide Squad should be doing morally grey type stuff on a lower level just trying to earn their freedom. With all the major flaws of this game, that is the one that annoys me the most. The Squad shouldn't be fighting Brainiac or being the last line of defense, where are the actual super heroes? It would only work if it was like your second idea, its in the Injustice Universe where I would actually enjoy that they are fighting an evil Superman, otherwise it needs to be like your third idea.
Third pitch all the way. WB should realise they messed up Suicide Suad big time. They are not the guys handle the treads like Evil Superman or Brainiac, they are expendable criminals makes dirty works for get out of jail card. You need huge cast with unique abilities. Gave people build their own team and depends on actions kill a member in each mission, you can get tons of replay value and people actually get exited for dlc. It still buffles me how they really thought this lackluster shooter live service mess gonna success. Didn't they see how Avengers game failed? Just seeing Kill the Justice League title should have give red flag.
I think the game scale should’ve been smaller. Instead of multiverse/ world ending threats, have it be more threats between countries. When it comes to the suicide squad I think the roster kinda sucks because characters like harley and boomer aren’t really equipped to fight major threats. The idea of killing the justice league is interesting, but it sucks that this is the introduction to the justice league of the Arkhamverse. I think the game should’ve been something like ultimate alliance where you can make your own suicide squad made up of different villains of DC. You can make iconic team lineups out of certain characters. I think that picking certain characters for missions can affect how the mission goes, specifically whether or not a character dies because the whole point of the squad is that there’s a 90% chance of death, by either Waller or enemies they face. It’s also a cool chance to explore the different places of DC. You can have missions in Gotham, metropolis, corto Maltese, dinosaur island and fight characters who pose threats to the US government. Maybe you have to fight some heroes as well, but they’re not the major leaguers who’re really powerful.
If the Suicide Squad game was a LEGO Suicide Squad game, it would’ve been a sequel to LEGO DC Super Villains, and we would’ve had confirmation that game was in its own continuity, while the LEGO Batman series was in its own separate timeline. So like Mortal Kombat, there’s multiple timelines but for LEGO DC, it’s multiple dimensions.
What's interesting is that a Suicide Squad game set during another Arkham Game could have been fun. Think an action RP game, with a bunch of locations and fun missions, where characters die, and stay dead. Really go to the lengths of using the team in a tactical way, a strategy game with consequences. Maybe, and hear me out, we have about twenty playable characters, each with powers and skills. You select 6 people, and send them in, either a bunch of you playing as them, or you play as "Team Leader" and order them around. That could be incredible. When a person dies, they stay dead and you either replace them in the next level or pick a whole new team. This allows replayability, and some alternate ways you could play with unique interactions as this goes. Throw in another 5 DLC characters, and you're good. You'd essentially need to balance loyalty, stealth and combat: There would be 4 missions and levels: The first mission I'd suggest would take place in Arkham City, where the Squad are looking for scientist Professor Ivo, who has been stranded there following a plane crash. They are also tasked with getting his research, which has fallen into the hands of the Black Mask, while Ivo is in the Iceberg Lounge, where Penguin is holding him hostage. The Squad find out that Ivo is working for Vandall Savage, who wants him to create the ultimate weapon in the form of an android. They also come into conflict with Batman, in a scene where Batman stealths them. Ivo is extracted by Savage, and is taken away. Using his research, the Squad discover the component he needs is in an abandoned Lex-Corp warehouse in Metropolis (mission 2). They need to avoid Lex Luthors security, and get the device first. This leads to conflict with Luthor and Savages men. Superman gets wind of this, showing up as the Squad leave. The team fail to get the component, but discover that Savage needs Kryptonite, and has an arms dealer in Kandaq giving it to him. Mission 3 (Kandaq) is a stealth mission in a market to intercept the deal, leading to a mass shooting with a local gang leading to a fight with Black Adam. They intercept the deal, placing a tracker on the shipment of Kryptonite. They use that as a way to follow Savage to his lair, where Mission 4 (Legion of Doom lair) where the squad infiltrate the lair, fight Savage and his thugs, then Ivo's creation Amazo, who has copied all the squads powers that have been played so far (the more squad members die, the trickier Amazo is). The Squad destroy Amazo, Savage is buried, the day is saved, they are put back in jail. 2 post-credit scenes: Deathstroke getting a call from the Arkham Knight. Luthor finding the Legion of Doom base, figuring it could work for his own ends. Potential DLC pitches: Asylum: a prequel adding 1 new mission leader and 2 new characters that takes the Squad to Arkham Asylum, where they are looking to break out Maxie Zeus, who has important info on some big shot drug dealer gang who Waller wants to bring down. Again, Batman fight. They also run into Joker, who breaks out with the Squads accidental help, which leads to him getting captured (in time for the events of Arkham Asylum). Girls Get it Done: Female Squad members only, as the Squad are infiltrating Themyscira, looking for an escaped fugitive with vital secrets. This is mostly stealth, but with some cool fights, and ends with the reveal that the fugitive is Circe, leading to the Squad and Wonder Woman teaming up to face her. 1 new female mission leader and 2 new female characters are added. Militia: Deathstroke is broken out of prison by the Knight. The Squad are sent into Militia controlled Gotham. Their job is to kill Deathstroke, ensuring he doesn't tell anyone about the Squad. They need to search several Militia bases to find info on him, before tracking him down. They fight several villains, such as Firefly and Man-Bat in the process. They track Deathstroke down, but he escapes them after a boss fight. Batman shortly captures Deathstroke, so the Squad need to break into GCPD and ensure everythings good. For whatever reason (maybe they erase his memories or something) he is still alive after the mission. A new mission leader is added, along with two new characters. As for the roster: 5 players you can make "Team Leader": Deathstroke (good in normal fights, commands some loyalty, good at stealth) Prometheus (perks against superpower characters, of which there would be a few of, such as boss fights and heightened minions etc. Doesn't command much loyalty, unlikely to stay loyal to Waller's plan) Lady Shiva (perks for stealth missions and normal fights, command the most loyalty) Malcolm Merlyn (useful in stealth and fights, extra skill in strategy, good for solo mode) Clock King (able to slow down time and work strategy better across all missions, a good all rounder) Then 15 characters to choose from for the missions (I'm intentionally avoiding ones from the films until DLC, and I'm going to put some from the games though): Great White Shark (brawler, good in fights, moderate intelligence, lack of stealth) Blockbuster (lack of intelligence and stealth, good at fights and boss fights) Gizmo (intelligent, stealthy, not as good at boss fights, OK at regular fights)- alternate skin Thinker Cupid (stealth, good in combat, less good against superpowers, loyal) Knockout (strong, a good all rounder) Scandal Savage (story member after she is captured mission 1. Good at stealth and normal combat, might betray the team Mission 4 if mission leader is swapped out, as she forms a bond with them) Captain Boomerang (good in normal and heightened fights, unreliable in stealth, challenges authority) Tattooed Man (good in stealth and heightened fights, less good against normal goons with guns) Battleaxe (good against thugs and good in stealth, not loyal, or good against bosses) Killer Frost (good all rounder, needs to kill consistently to steal heat and stay alive) Ragdoll (best at stealth, decent in normal fights, doesn't die easily, generally shifty) Cavalier (decent in normal fights, mostly bad elsewhere, won't betray the Squad no matter what) Count Vertigo (likely to disrespect authority, bad in stealth, good as an assist in general combat) Plastique (good in regular fights, loyal, can set traps in stealth, often loud though, and not as good in boss fights) Condiment King (useless at everything, but having him increases stats of everyone else) Now for the DLC: Asylum: New leader option: Bloodsport (good at stealth, good in normal fights, not so much against bosses) 2 new members: Polka-Dot Man (good in fights, average at stealth, loyal) King Shark (good at boss fights, loyal, terrible at stealth, inexplicably near impossible to kill) Girls Get It Done: New leader option: Kitana (she has your back, I'd advise not getting killed by her. Her sword traps the souls of her victims) New female squad members: Harley Quinn (decent at stealth, good in normal fights, unlikely to follow orders) Enchantress (good in boss fights, normal fights and stealth. Disloyal, often landing you with June Moone) Militia: New Leader option: Peacemaker (bad at stealth, increases loyalty, good in normal fights) New members: Kite Man (bad at stealth, moves quick, everyone just works better with him there) Ratcatcher (good for stealth, average at boss fights and normal fights, loyal)
It really is a shame the later "The Suicide Squad" film from James Gunn came too late, as now I really would have preferred to play a Bloodshot with the changing arsenal of weapons ripe for taking advantage of in a game setting and also being Black instead of awkwardly trying to justify a new version of the more limited Deadshot from a gameplay perspective.
Great video, I think another plot that could work is the Lego DC supervillains switcheroo, having the crime syndicate be the threat .The brainiacs being forced/brainwashed until the last brainiac being revealed to be the good brainiac where u team up with him to take down the revived syndicate all together
Gotham Knights should have been the sequel to Arkham Knight. No one asked for a Justice League game. Side note: Deadshot from Arkham Origins was dope. 🤷🏿♂️💯
At First I was skeptical that the Justice League would be killed by the Suicide Squad but I thought WB mislead us and that they would Unbrainwashed later, but then when they Announced that this will be connected to the Arkham Series I was one of the few people who saw the Red Flags, then Kevin Conroy passed away and this would have been one of the Last Roles( with Crisis Part 3 seemingly being his Final Role), and don’t get me started on the multiple Delays for 3 Goddamn Years, the Shooting Mechanic, and the Live Server B$, I knew that this would be not just a Bad Game, but a Insult to DC and Arkham Fans that would have loved to see Rocksteady make either a Superman, Batman Beyond, or Justice League Game but now it’s clear that the Original People behind the Arkham Games have left and are given the Keys to New People that don’t understand what they’re doing that would lead this Once Great Company into Bankruptcy in the Most Distasteful and Distasteful Way Possible, Nobody in their Right Minds would want a Game that you killed off Some of your Favorite Heroes in Cold Blood, the Live Server Shooter Angle is a Terrible Game for a DC Game, the Only Good Character is King Shark, I like Deadshot but his Anger with Green Lantern is Doom, this is the Wrost Harley Quinn played by Tara Strong I didn’t like, Captain Boomerang is the Worst Character in the Game, Lex is more Enjoyable than Waller, the Graphics are a Major Downgrade to the Arkham Games especially when Knight was pure Perfection even if the Game is Overrated, the Side Characters are Boring, and is just Depressing and Not in a Good or Enjoyable Way when you Play or Watch, all I can Say is that MK1 and Spider-Man 2 are far better than this Abomination that I wish was Cancelled completely.
On the injustice segment I like how you went with the brainiac superman ending which fits the kill the justice league original narrative. Honestly, while I don’t overall enjoy the injustice story because I just find both the comics and the games written poorly I really hope if there is a third game that goes with the superman ending. It’s interesting enough to make a sequel justify itself as the story isn’t finished and would be cool in two aspects with regime superman going back to prime superman to take his Lois and also his new roster (Clark mentions Daximites, czarnians and the legion of superheroes so you could have lobo, mon el, brainiac 2 and other dc maintain stays joining his group.) I frankly just don’t want to see another story where superman escapes again and gets defeated by Batman again.
The game being a sequel to the Injustice universe is such a fantastic idea. Damn. Too bad the writers didn't give two shts about what they were writing.
In the prequel comic to this game a scene that takes at most a few hours before the game starts she is still into the joker or at the very least move on from Joker to Scarface who is still dressed as the joker from the first game
According to one of the comment chains on a video comparing min graphics settings Game End Squad to Graphics Mod Enhanced Arkham City, one of the biggest issues with this game is that Harley's bat in this game isn't angled at 45 degrees to show off her assets when not in use like it is in Arkham City.
Idk how I feel about the squad of Harley, deadshot, deathstroke and red hood. In terms of the story it works great but the gameplay between them would be very samey and hard to make interesting. Deathstroke doesn’t really need to be there since they already implied that he did time on an older version of the squad and doesn’t necessarily need to return. Personally I like the idea of killer croc replacing king shark, since he immediately is a similar character who fits a more Arkham centric role. The person replacing boomerang can stay Jason. He could incorporate more gadget type equipment in his gameplay whilst deadshot focuses more on guns only.
An Ultimate Alliance kind of roster would have been cool, maybe have a perma-death so you have to be careful and choose which villain to use at what points, keeping some villains that would do great against Superman for later. Maybe failing a primary objective result in Waller killing the whole team you are currently playing, and a new team is sent afterwards. Oh and, of course, a game not set in the Arkhamverse so you have more freedom for the roster (like having Ra's Al Ghul and even Talia alive, for example). And more JL members too, like Aquaman so you can have Black Manta as a playable character. Maybe have some unlockable objects/gadgets/weapons that would help against specific bosses but you can potentially miss them. Like, using Scarecrow's fear toxin against Green Lantern, defeating Wonder Woman to get her Lasso of Truth which would be useful against Shazam to make him transform back into Billy Batson. Maybe your choices during the game could give you different endings: -one where you do kill all the JL members and it leaves some sort of power vacuum which will pose a problem against future threats -one where the JL is partially killed? -one where the JL was saved If there's some JL members that were saved from Brainiac's brainwashing, maybe they become playable for the last boss fight? A reward for going the extra mile and bother to find a way to save them instead of simply shooting them dead.
I loved all 3 of these ideas. Especially the 3rd idea, an x-com suicide squad game sounds amazing. 1 idea I've seen to fix the game is to just get rid of the squad themselves and just have it be a game where batman saves the league, and as overdone as good guy batman vs evil jl is, I feel like it could work if handled well.
I've said a few times that if they wanted to do an Arkhamverse suicide Squad game, for one, axe the "Kill the Justice League" thing, even in it's own universe, that draws a load of hate straight away and don't set it in Metropolis. Instead set the game in Santa Prisca, the prison taken over by criminals would be a nice full circle thing, and perhaps we could introduce a new environment for the franchise, a surrounding forest. As for the plot? TITAN, aside from Arkham Knight, TITAN played a role in every major Arkham game, being the focus of Asylum, the focus of a side mission in City and the source of Joker's illness (meaning that, as a knock on effect of that plotline and it's deep impacts, TITAN still has a role in Knight) and if you think TN-1 isn't prototype TITAN, then you are delusional. Picture this, while cleaning up after the Asylum incident, a corrupt cop charged with clearing out the TITAN lab found Joker's notes on TITAN and, seeing the potential profit, quits and leaves Gotham to find the best source of Venom he or she can think of; Santa Prisca, hooking up with a group like Kobra to continue to Develop the formula into a proper suoer soldier formula. Now they have something pretty viable and the word is out with various factions descending on Santa Prisca, wanting sole ownership of the TITAN formula On paper, the Squad is sent by Waller to stamp out TITAN once and for all, while in reality Waller wants it for ARGUS.
So one correction. Harley getting over Joker isn’t an out of nowhere concept, it’s been 5 years since Arkham knight or 5 years and 9 months since joker died. It’s the mind set of Harley is only under his influence when she around him and the longer she’s away the clearer her thinking is to not be in his influence. Been shown in the comics, her tv show, hell even Arkham knight.
I actually have been working on a rewrite for the game called Suicide Squad: Forever Evil It would be based on the Forever Evil comic where the Crime Syndicate invade the main universe from Earth 3 and the Squad had to fight them
I actually like Wonderwoman being the last one left. Flubbed execution in the game, but my understanding is that Batman doesn't even have a contingency plan for her. She's the best one to be the last one standing. Batman is cool with the Arkham continuity (which this shouldn't have been).
I’m pretty sure the game implies or outright states that the “fake” Deadshot comes from another universe, so he is still very skilled and talented
@@heetman4785True, but I think the point that OP was making, is that we never see SSKTJ’s Deadshot land shots like that.
I can excuse gameplay, because that’s up to the player, but even in cutscenes we never get to see his skills or finesse as an assassin.

@@mikhaelgribkov4117what writing issues are you referring to? I mean actually writing issues and not dishonest and pointless nitpicks.

Not to mention the game’s surface level interpretation of every single squad member as well.
I feel like the overall writing quality gap between KTJ and the Arkham games is easily one of the things that made it feel so jarring.
Red Hood and Azrael being lead squad members is such a good idea, considering how their stories were already left open ended in Knight.
Arkham Shadow actually looks pretty good. Shame it's exclusive to Quest 3
Same honestly but Arkham Shadow has been really good so far
Reject mediocrity.
Become the Knight.
Wonder Woman's crown protects her from mind control. I wish they at least mentioned that
You assume these hack writers would even read anything that gives more info about a character that’s been established for 30+ years.
Its a hard sell for a lot of people
I didn’t play it because the console it was announced on, got its port cancelled.
Excellent game
The marketing team really failed that game. Most people don't even know it's a deckbuilding game.
It's insanely good, and the card stuff isn't as major as some others like Slay The Spire, it's perfect for a Suicide Squad game.
the fact they didnt do a justice league game truly makes no senses
They should have done a solo Arkham Superman game, a Green Lantern game, a Wonder Woman one and so on then eventually a Justice League game.
Literally all of these pitches are infinitely better than the lazy story we actually got! So nice job!
That's when the comics are the most fun though, when they are downright villains on a leash forced to do government's dirty work.
I love that Snake put more effort into getting around YTs bad word detection of Mid Squad : Shit the Justice League than Warner Bros did the entirety of the game
Ah yes the game that murdered all its good will and killed the studio
I actually like the first pitch that you did which really cemented the idea that could’ve saved this game from complete annihilation. And having red hood as a leader of the squad will be a very good choice.
An XCom like Suicide Squad game actually sounds fun
2nd this!
Is it only established characters because I would like it for them to die because suicide squad
Ngl an Xcom SSquad type game sounds perfect. I'm not even that big on The SSquad to begin with but even I would consider getting it.
Hara-Kiri Squad Fatality the Justice League is a really cool nickname for the game and I just wanted to write a comment about that.
An X-COM style game is what best fits the Suicide Squad so the game can actually live up to the premise that the squad members aren't immortal.
Given how terrible this game was, I'm just thankful for Crisis on Infinite Earths part 3 for Not making this the final performance of Kevin Conroy's Batman

So fucking disappointed we got a genderbent Freeze before we got KILLER FROST in this SUICIDE SQUAD GAME.
Don’t know why they couldn’t even have the decency to give us Nora instead of
The reason why Wonder Woman isn't one of the mind control Justice leaguers it's because in the comics she has something called Athena's sight which makes her immune to mind control also I feel like the game will be just better if we played as Wonder Woman instead of The suicide squad and after you free one of the mind control Justice League members you can play as them
SO MUCH WASTED POTENTIAL!!! ESPECIALLY ON KEVIN CONROY!!!
Batman after he’s resurrected in SSKTJL: “Next time I let Superman take charge. Just hit me real hard!”
For that last one I really like the idea of speed run category’s where you just slaughter the entire team in the first 10 minutes and have to play the rest of the game as Solomon Grundy or someone.
Speaking of the Wonder Woman solo game
Where the HELL is it? It's been like 3 years since the announcement, and there hasn't been a single peep.
Unironically did Deadlock come out playable before the WW game even has footage lol
Still way too Batman focused for these playable characters. Doesn’t really matter if it’s in the same universe as the Arkham Games, that doesn’t mean all the damn characters have to Batman ones
Especially since it’s a justice league game it makes sense to use non batman characters
Honestly, making Unalive Squad an Injustice spin-off is an ingenious idea that makes the premise an easier pill to swallow. You cooked well!
I’m pretty sure the movie was recently released when the game was made so there’d be a bit of suicide squad hype
how tf this 11 minutes video made more sense than whatever the heck rocksteady did with SSKTJL?
R.I.P. Kevin Conroy 😭😭😭
It was Only a matter of time before you made this.
The red hood team sounds amazing and ten times better than the trainwreck that we got.
All three of these ideas are really cool and sounds fun way more better than the actual game we got I really like the third one mostly as a standalone game where we’re just playing essentially RPG assassins. That sounds way more fun than killing superheroes.
Dude just wants DC Midnight Suns
Which would be much better and would even had sold better too lol
I applaud the running gag of finding different ways of avoiding the self-deletion word
A year? After everything people have said about Marvel Rivals in the beta, I cannot imagine Warner Bros. letting Self-Delete Squad: Defeat the Super Friends last another week.
Rocksteady and Warner Bros need to take notes because these ideas from this video would have been a better alternative than what they put out.
the biggest wasted potential is the backstory of the Justice League members getting inspired to form a team because of Batman's actions in Arkham Knight which is a great setup for a Justice League game but nope they had to shit all over that
Here's another idea that could be interesting, let Bizarro join the Suicide Squad.
Think about it:
-collect various supervillains
-easily explain multiverse as actual pulls from another dimentions
-if one dies, it goes on cooldown while you base summons a copy of it
-it can be about anything you want
-people won't get angwy about "ruining Arkhamverse" because haters will have easier time ignoring it
-infinitely monetizable
Absolutely love all 3 of these ideas
In my head cannon, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is about the Squad teaming up with Batman, and in a kind of Batman Beyond way, he guides the Squad on how to defeat, but not kill, the Justice League. In return, Batman will remove the bombs in their necks and won't hunt them down if they go straight.
There's something sadly amusing about how two of the ways to fix this are basically just the bog standard "good guy Batman vs. mind-controlled | evil superheroes" idea with a mind twist. This game is that creatively bankrupt that it's actually an improvement for once.
This is why I have so much respect for you Snake. You don't just complain about the problems, you actually offer solutions.
Be glad that I'm building a time machine to help you do that (after I've used it to erase my personal issue).

Is anyone else still confused why Rocksteady didn't make a Justice League game instead?
Honestly, Wonder Woman as the protagonist of the game would be so much better.
I meant compared to the SS, not Batman.
Honestly, if this was the plot to her solo game, with a reworked tone, it could work.
It would have made sense to have suicide sqaud set in the superman injustice 2 ending. That way rocksteady can go all out with their multiverse BS
I’ve been waiting for this
It amazes me how they didn’t capitalize on Jason todd, a character everybody loves and wants to see his story continue
You'd essentially need to balance loyalty, stealth and combat:
There would be 4 missions and levels:
The first mission I'd suggest would take place in Arkham City, where the Squad are looking for scientist Professor Ivo, who has been stranded there following a plane crash.
2 post-credit scenes:
Deathstroke getting a call from the Arkham Knight.
Luthor finding the Legion of Doom base, figuring it could work for his own ends.
Potential DLC pitches:
Asylum: a prequel adding 1 new mission leader and 2 new characters that takes the Squad to Arkham Asylum, where they are looking to break out Maxie Zeus, who has important info on some big shot drug dealer gang who Waller wants to bring down.
As for the roster:
5 players you can make "Team Leader":
Deathstroke (good in normal fights, commands some loyalty, good at stealth)
Prometheus (perks against superpower characters, of which there would be a few of, such as boss fights and heightened minions etc. Doesn't command much loyalty, unlikely to stay loyal to Waller's plan)
Lady Shiva (perks for stealth missions and normal fights, command the most loyalty)
Malcolm Merlyn (useful in stealth and fights, extra skill in strategy, good for solo mode)
Clock King (able to slow down time and work strategy better across all missions, a good all rounder)
Then 15 characters to choose from for the missions (I'm intentionally avoiding ones from the films until DLC, and I'm going to put some from the games though):
Great White Shark (brawler, good in fights, moderate intelligence, lack of stealth)
Blockbuster (lack of intelligence and stealth, good at fights and boss fights)
Gizmo (intelligent, stealthy, not as good at boss fights, OK at regular fights)- alternate skin Thinker
Cupid (stealth, good in combat, less good against superpowers, loyal)
Knockout (strong, a good all rounder)
Scandal Savage (story member after she is captured mission 1. Good at stealth and normal combat, might betray the team Mission 4 if mission leader is swapped out, as she forms a bond with them)
Captain Boomerang (good in normal and heightened fights, unreliable in stealth, challenges authority)
Tattooed Man (good in stealth and heightened fights, less good against normal goons with guns)
Battleaxe (good against thugs and good in stealth, not loyal, or good against bosses)
Killer Frost (good all rounder, needs to kill consistently to steal heat and stay alive)
Ragdoll (best at stealth, decent in normal fights, doesn't die easily, generally shifty)
Cavalier (decent in normal fights, mostly bad elsewhere, won't betray the Squad no matter what)
Count Vertigo (likely to disrespect authority, bad in stealth, good as an assist in general combat)
Plastique (good in regular fights, loyal, can set traps in stealth, often loud though, and not as good in boss fights)
Condiment King (useless at everything, but having him increases stats of everyone else)
Now for the DLC:
Asylum:
New leader option: Bloodsport (good at stealth, good in normal fights, not so much against bosses)
2 new members:
Polka-Dot Man (good in fights, average at stealth, loyal)
King Shark (good at boss fights, loyal, terrible at stealth, inexplicably near impossible to kill)
Girls Get It Done:
New leader option: Kitana (she has your back, I'd advise not getting killed by her. Her sword traps the souls of her victims)
New female squad members:
Harley Quinn (decent at stealth, good in normal fights, unlikely to follow orders)
Enchantress (good in boss fights, normal fights and stealth. Disloyal, often landing you with June Moone)
Militia:
New Leader option: Peacemaker (bad at stealth, increases loyalty, good in normal fights)
New members:
Kite Man (bad at stealth, moves quick, everyone just works better with him there)
Ratcatcher (good for stealth, average at boss fights and normal fights, loyal)
Wow..even I thought Jason should have been in the squad. Great to see we think the same :)
SOOOOO much potential. The movement and fighting is genuinely so smooth and fun. They gotta make a PVP mode. Would be insane
I’ve waited a while for this.
DEI killed the Arkham Verse

That’s not suicide squads fault, there were numerous references to superman and metropolis in the Arkham games.
How I yearn for an alternate universe where 4thSnake is the President of WB Games
Don't we all it'd be amazing 😎
On the injustice segment I like how you went with the brainiac superman ending which fits the kill the justice league original narrative. Honestly, while I don’t overall enjoy the injustice story because I just find both the comics and the games written poorly I really hope if there is a third game that goes with the superman ending. It’s interesting enough to make a sequel justify itself as the story isn’t finished and would be cool in two aspects with regime superman going back to prime superman to take his Lois and also his new roster (Clark mentions Daximites, czarnians and the legion of superheroes so you could have lobo, mon el, brainiac 2 and other dc maintain stays joining his group.)
I frankly just don’t want to see another story where superman escapes again and gets defeated by Batman again.
Quitality Squad. You know it's perfect since WB also owns Mortal Kombat.
They could also make a unique difficulty where characters can permanently die if they get captured or try to escape.🐱
You've cursed me with the knowledge of an elite suicide squad game that will never exist.
Maybe your choices during the game could give you different endings:
-one where you do kill all the JL members and it leaves some sort of power vacuum which will pose a problem against future threats
-one where the JL is partially killed?
-one where the JL was saved
If there's some JL members that were saved from Brainiac's brainwashing, maybe they become playable for the last boss fight? A reward for going the extra mile and bother to find a way to save them instead of simply shooting them dead.
I loved all 3 of these ideas. Especially the 3rd idea, an x-com suicide squad game sounds amazing.
1 idea I've seen to fix the game is to just get rid of the squad themselves and just have it be a game where batman saves the league, and as overdone as good guy batman vs evil jl is, I feel like it could work if handled well.
And if they really wanted to shoehorn the squad have a mission where batman commands them to assist him in missions idk
@@joseph2000117 honestly yeah that could be cool as well
I've said a few times that if they wanted to do an Arkhamverse suicide Squad game, for one, axe the "Kill the Justice League" thing, even in it's own universe, that draws a load of hate straight away and don't set it in Metropolis.
*THE RETURN OF THE KING*
I actually have been working on a rewrite for the game called Suicide Squad: Forever Evil
It would be based on the Forever Evil comic where the Crime Syndicate invade the main universe from Earth 3 and the Squad had to fight them
Oh snap, tell us where you post the rewrite when you do. I wanna read or see that!
I actually like Wonderwoman being the last one left. Flubbed execution in the game, but my understanding is that Batman doesn't even have a contingency plan for her. She's the best one to be the last one standing. Batman is cool with the Arkham continuity (which this shouldn't have been).
