It’s often difficult to google the rape cases due to victims names not being featured (which is obviously understandable) and it bothers me not knowing if these sickos are still out there. Did they ever get the one in Scotland from this episode?
Very sad isn't it. Especially since a lot of them would probably have been solved quite quickly if they'd happened today. One ray of light is that an increasing number of offenders from years ago are being brought to justice now with DNA.
@golgotha3938 it was committed by a despicable scumbag named Jonathan Bermingham from the falkirk area. He also went on to commit further horrible crimes, at Least one of his adult children is also a child rapist. He was caught again not for the first time trying to lure two girls to a wooded area when thankfully a father and son spotted him and tackled him to the ground. He was found in possession of basically a self made rape kit of sleeping pills and condoms. The whole family were aware of police forensics due to their constant sexual offending. It was beyond belief to all locals as to why he kept being released

Fantastic to see more of the missing episodes, cheers Redcard. The format for these ones was actually not bad, not quite the vintage years of 1987-1995 but the faster pace with more appeals was pretty good.
Agreed, I quite liked this era with a nice studio. It still had 'proper' reconstructions with appeal points. They used to feature more unusual crimes in this era too. Production styles had changed by 2000 though. The reconstructions were recorded on video by this time (cheaper) rather than film in the 1980s although this was mainly down to advances in technology more than anything else. In my mind this era of CW finished in 2006, i think it was the new series in 2006 that started having music in the reconstructions. This got worse and eventually became unwatchable after Nick left in 2007. A real shame, and a sad end to the programme.
It is good to see reminders of unsolved cases too. Oddly, they don't do it with all unsolved. There are many families who lost loved ones and still find the strength to carry on and not use it as an excuse. They are never given credit.
Thanks for uploading, but it looks like the rot had already set in in terms of the horrible presentation style of the show. The 80s and early 90s style was so much better in my opinion. It feels like they're trying to be "trendy" by this time.

Is it just me? or do the Crimewatch UK episodes from the first 20 years seem eerie and creepy with the reconstructions the first one the man with the red hair those type of directed shots? Random useless fact here Also it is rare for as late as December 2000 (in less it was library stock footage?) to see a Virgin Trains intercity 125 train in a mixed livery HST with a post privatisation of a BR livery Class 43 HST power in 1987 BR IC Swallow livery car as train with a mixture of MK3 carriages in BR Intercity Swallow livery power car and 1996 Virgin trains livery and the rear BR Class 43 HST Virgin Trains livery power car. They were all mostly re-liveried by late 1998 when the rail franchises had taken over British Rail.

For such an isolated place that gets a lot of stick for being boring, Norwich had a seemingly disproportionate amount of violent crime and murders over the years. A lot of it stemming from the red light district.
i'm going to consider a link to the schoolgirl attack near norton, worcs in a recently previous show to the suzy lamplugh case. some murderers like to go and check their victims graves for signs of disturbance, detection.

I often google these cases to see if they caught someone and how long they got in jail. Its quite common for them to still be unsolved to this day.
Indeed. But some are a very pleasant surprise where they get caught on googling.

Frankly, I think it would be difficult to appear less emotionally involved than Fiona Bruce. It's like she can't express emotions.
She's never been any good. Sue Cook was peerless in this role.
She's maybe too upbeat, but at least but at least it's better than Kirsty Young and her self-righteous fury.
