This is my favourite channel for Japanese cooking. I tried the yakiudon and it came out so good. I only used onions, corn oil, salt, green onions and chicken. But it came out so good. soy sauce does wonders.
I made this with egg noodles instead of udon since they're cheaper. It's so good!! You wouldn't think something seasoned with soy sauce and salt alone could be this good, but it really is. Too bad I can't get beni shoga, I have a feeling it would bring this refreshing touch and make this dish even better. I wonder what would happen if I put a bit of gari instead. I know it's not normally used for anything other than sushi, but I think it still might be good.

in India, udon is not available in every grocery store and supermarkets so can we substitute any type of chinese noodles for this recipe? ??????
+Rohit Pillai - Try any noodles. Use sesame oil instead it gives chinese flavor.
