I'm so happy to hear you enjoyed it! Thank you for taking the time to let me know. I do these videos by myself so aside from the time I spend developing the recipes, shooting and editing them takes most of my time each week. It's something I love doing though so it doesn't feel like work. I have over a 100 recipe videos here and over 1000 recipes on my website, so I hope you find some others you will enjoy😉
I'm shocked at the size of your channel. You have one of the most professional, easy to follow, and engaging cooking channels I've seen. Beautiful editing and camera angles to capture the food's glory as well! Please don't let this be something that will ever demotivate you, as I found myself guilty to such.
Thanks Zain! I had a shoot for a TV show today and it wasn't going well, but getting your comment between takes made my day. I just checked out some of your videos and you've got talent. Keep at it and I'm sure you'll be big some day.
Hi Laura, you can click through on the link in the description to for a more detailed recipe (including the number of servings), but short answer is 3.
Hi Julia I appreciate the feedback. You're obviously entitled to your own opinions but I will say that you accusing me of not being genuine is hurtful because I enjoy what I do am genuinely excited about teaching people how to cook. I occasionally get comments to calm down, and have tried doing more mellow videos, but then I get complaints that I sound like I'm talking to a kindergartener or that they're falling asleep. The thing I've learned is that I can't please everyone, so I'm just going to be me, and if that's not for you, feel free to watch a different channel😉
Superb...cooking...camera position...editing, chef you deserve a following that gives back to you what you give to your channel. Japanese food is so unique, so special (and unfortunately, so expensive to eat in Japanese restaurants in the UK). Keep up the great work you do by enabling Japanese food be accessible to all. Thank you👍🏼
Oh man, I've been getting pretty good at making yakisoba, but I too have always been a bigger fan of udon noodles. I'll have to add this to my list of go-to stir-fries. Thanks for sharing!
I found some dried udon noodles in our local city. I actually now prefer them to the packets of prepared noodles. Yaki udon was one of the first dishes I made before our son went to live in Japan. 😋 This looks so good! Take care. 🌺
The recipe on the website says 3 servings. I suppose it depends on how hungry you are!😁 If you follow the link in the description to the recipe, you can adjust the recipe ingredients to make larger batches. Hope this helps!☺
Oh! And your editing and color correcting are amazing. Can’t wait to see your channel have its first viral or semi viral video. You deserve so many more views.
It's obvious that you put a lot of time, effort, and heart into this! I love your enthusiasm for cooking! I appreciated the cooking tips you gave along the way too. Great job!!
@@NoRecipes That’s very inspiring! Congratulations and please keep doing what you’re doing. I especially like the vegetarian/vegan options you provide.
@@kristih13 Thanks, I've been at it for 13 years now, and I plan to do this for as long as I possibly can. As for vegan/veggie recipes, I only publish recipes that I can make just as good or better than the meat based original. The thinking here is that I don't want to add to the perception that vegan food is bland or not satisfying. I currently have 126 vegan recipes and 285 vegetarian recipes (overlapped with vegan), on my website, here's the vegan category: norecipes.com/diet/vegan/
Thanks! I'm a noodle fan too, so much more fun to eat that rice. I have a few noodle dishes in the works right now, so I'll have videos for them as soon as I'm happy with the recipes.
Yum, this looks like a winner! So far my attempts at yakiudon have been substandard, looking forward to trying this one. I also love a sprinkle of ao nori and drizzle of Kewpie over the finished masterpiece, nom nom!
Great call on the aonori! I'm not a mayo fan, but some people really like it. If you want to share how your attempts have been substandard, I might be able to help you prevent any problems when you make this one.
So far I hadn't tried fresh shiitake or udon, I was rehydrating dried shiitake and boiling dried noodles. Also the recipes I saw used pork, and sauces with corn syrup, I can't do those so I left them out. This looks a lot healthier!
@@dogbiscuit1171 Dried noodles tend to be thinner than the fresh or pre-boiled kind, so that will make a difference. Dried shiitakes have a much stronger flavor which is desirable in some recipes, but I think fresh ones work better for this dish. Pork belly is usually added to Yakiudon, but I don't think it's necessary (you can add it if you want though). Hope that helps!
Great recipe. I made one vegannized version of the udon. I think this is a great alternative if you want stir fry and something without its soup. Gotta try this out!

I made this last night. It was very good. I used 3 bundles of Hime dried udon noodles instead of the frozen udon and double the sauces. Thanks for sharing.
You're welcome! I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed it😀 Also thanks for sharing the brand and ratio of sauce to noodles you used, it should be helpful for people looking to make the same substitution.
Hi Rascalnicough, I don't take antidepressants, but you should be able to get the ingredients for this at most Asian grocery stores. You can also check online. For the udon, I have a recipe for making them from scratch, you can check out.
Your videos are amazing! Thanks so much for sharing. I love to see more udon recipes. Maybe one with a bit more kick? Though adding dried Chile helps a lot already!
Thanks Benjamin, I love spicy foods, but there aren't really many traditional Japanese dishes that include a spicy component.
