Lol, also we shouldn't forget that 99% of people don't care about our 80-hour power reserves, or spring drives, or beautifully designed movements, so you should only buy the watches that make you happier. But it still remains one of the best parts of the show, as we're here not only for the reviews, but for entertainment as well!

My wife saw me wearing my Casio F91W and felt compelled to tell me how much she dislikes it. She never mentions any of my watches as I'm wearing them, but that one just flipped a switch in her head. She said it "looks like a $10 cheapo from Wal-Mart," all of which was 100% true, as I bought it for about $10 from Wal-Mart. I tried to clue her in to the "historical" importance of this watch, but she just rolled her eyes. "It's so small on you it looks like you stole some kid's watch." All fair points, but still...
My wife is so disinterested in my "so called" collection that if I even mention a watch she just rolls her eyes and says, "whatever you want me to say about it, I will." Of course, when she asks me stuff like, "am I fat?" or "do these pants make me look fat?" I give her the exact same reaction and response. 😂
She really has great taste, having picked out the Fortis and Hamilton, which are great. She also appreciated the GS SBGN003, which shows great taste, and I was holding my breath, because I‘m the proud owner of a SBGN005!

That Grand Seiko is my next Grand Seiko, though with a blue dial. I also like my full metal square a lot. Usually, your wife’s opinions are spot on, today was a bit off.
I agree with your wife on many of her opinions, especially not liking the Islander logo. Yes, it is a logo of a watch on a watch. Why? We know it's a watch, already. I would have three Islanders in my collection if it were't for the stupid logo. I like the watches but not the logo, Marc.
I'm divorced since over a year now, unfortunately. My wife never did care much for my interest in watches. It did rub off just a little bit, since I was allowed to gift her a couple of them. I did often ask her about my purchases, and showed them to her. She rarely paid them any interest and pretty much just shrugged. She wasn't too happy about the cost of them, either.
If you’re thinking of buying the Hamilton, I’d advise you to look at the CWC Mellor 72, instead. The CWC is more authentic and cheaper. A Truly brilliant daily-wear watch.
The Mrs MWC seems to appreciate analog watches over digital. Interesting 🤔 The Fortis: busy done right. Couldn't agree more. That Fortis stopped me in my tracks to the point I stopped the video just to admire.

That's what we call an honest review. However, Casio should be got a better response. A look or a movement or a brand history could be cool but in the end a better watch is one that tells time better.
Love the SKX and a good watch. Lorier are a good microbrand and also in my future. I will be researching Vertex and CWC further. I have a couple of Islander watches and Marc does some great work. That Fortis is incredible. Don't sell it ! Like the Hamilton military field watches too. Grand Seiko GMT is incredible. Your wife's opinions are very similar to mine, but that Frogman is awesome. that TGV- Islander watch is a belter, the Lorier too!..if I had My pick of the bunch though?.. it'd have to be the Fortis.. I like everything about that watch! the Grand Seiko's a awkward one for Me, I love nearly everything, but the bezel.. I'm not into the metal bezels, all good when they're smooth un-numbered, but for some reason that really puts me off.. shame, they're top shelf with everything else. :(

GS usually tops every group review for me but I’m torn now because that Fortis is a special speciality with extra specialism. On the other hand, the steel Casio just looks wrong. I thought this when I first saw them but this just confirmed it for me; they look like uber-shiny plastic. Or maybe I’m just programmed to see that because plastic is a G’s natural colour.
Good point!! It goes against everything really that a G-SHOCK was built for. A grade 5 titanium brushed all over case and bracelet that’s the way to go but would be way too much dollar!!

I love my G-Shock Rangeman (blackout version). Show the Mrs the green one on Chris Hemsworth's wrist in the film Extraction and see if she still thinks they are for kids 😅

But hey, she knows what a bezel is, and I didn't know that when I was only wearing Swatches and Casios 10+ years ago. Wait, maybe that was because they didn't have any bezels... Anyway, another nice video! The Fortis and the GS are gorgeous. Add the steel G-Shock and you've got a great 3-watch collection, so you won't need anything else for any occasion. 😪The other pieces in this box are also nice, and so was the previous one. PS: I've had my classic black 5600 square for ±12 years or so, do you think it's worth to upgrade to a modern solar/bluetooth/whatever-else-they've-added version, if the old one still works fine (I've only changed the battery once)?

GS usually tops every group review for me but I’m torn now because that Fortis is a special speciality with extra specialism.
On the other hand, the steel Casio just looks wrong. I thought this when I first saw them but this just confirmed it for me; they look like uber-shiny plastic. Or maybe I’m just programmed to see that because plastic is a G’s natural colour.
Good point!! It goes against everything really that a G-SHOCK was built for. A grade 5 titanium brushed all over case and bracelet that’s the way to go but would be way too much dollar!!

Hey MWC! I could eventually help you if you want to get another one of the old Fortis Cosmonaut Chronographs. I got mine from a local jeweller that had several pieces in stock and sold them for reduced prices - maybe there are still some around.

I mean, she's just obviously not into Casios and electronic "faces" at all (as for me, I guess the G-shock is the only square I'll ever have on my wrist, sorry, Cartier). But hey, she knows what a bezel is, and I didn't know that when I was only wearing Swatches and Casios 10+ years ago. Wait, maybe that was because they didn't have any bezels... Anyway, another nice video! The Fortis and the GS are gorgeous. Add the steel G-Shock and you've got a great 3-watch collection, so you won't need anything else for any occasion. 😪The other pieces in this box are also nice, and so was the previous one. PS: I've had my classic black 5600 square for ±12 years or so, do you think it's worth to upgrade to a modern solar/bluetooth/whatever-else-they've-added version, if the old one still works fine (I've only changed the battery once)?
