Great video this one it’s made me rediscover the band (late too!). Already had 3 and 4 on vinyl but after seeing your video have just bought reasonably priced German copies of the first two! Love both and will no doubt collect the others now! Thanks for getting me back into them 👍
You should buy the DVD that contains the Led Zeppelin Royal Albert Hall 1970 concert. It will blow your mind. Absolutely. And if you have a surround sound system, even better. The 5.1 sound mix is just unbelievable. Cheers Brian. Led Zeppelin its my second favourite band after the Beatles. I got all their records, DVDs, blu-ray etc. They're a super group, I don't mind spending money on them.
That's funny. I grew up with the Beatles and then when I was 15 a school friend played When The Levee Breaks on a LP for me and asked what I thought. That started a journey that I'm 30 years into. Enjoy.
Thanks for the shout-out Brian. Only to happy to be a small part of why you are getting into this band. I'm not a fan at all of Presence or Outdoor, but I think Coda is awesome. So I assume your Coda is a combination of the original and the alternate album? The Coda box set is one of the better ones in the collection, IMHO.
FitToBe TieDyed yes the Coda I have is the 3 LP set. I really like what I’ve heard so far. Lots to take in but I’m actually listening to the bonus material as I type. And yes seeing your Zep videos really got me into getting all of their studio albums and diving into their work headfirst!
Definitely get the The Song Remains the Same. 30 minute version of Dazed and Confused. And a killer version of No Quarter. Oh and have you tried swiping a wet rag on the inner sleeve of in through the outdoor. And that album also has what... five different album covers.
I've been listening to Zeppelin for about 40 years and Zep II is still my favorite. Though honestly, I love them all. But don't think you feel that way because you're a Zep noob, II is MANY Zeppelin veteran's fave.
I was at my local record store. Behind the counter there was about 4 feet of shelving full of Physical Graffiti albums. Out of curiosity I queried, "How much for one of those?" I was told they weren't for sale. They were mix and matches. "What?" The store takes in a ton of copies and matches the best covers to the best vinyl. I'm guessing Physical Graffiti is just one of those albums where the cover and the vinyl are separately prone to mishaps.
My dad has all the late 70’s pressings of the albums, those are what I grew up with, his copy of Houses of the holy does say Sterling in the deadwax and it sounds amazing.!! They all do to me, the other ones are ordinary pressings, no Ludwig’s or anything like that but they still sound great to me :)
Yes. Definitely check out their live stuff. BBC is great. How the West was Won is great. How about we just say almost everything they touch is great. Check out some of their bootlegs too. Also their first live TV perfomance: ua-cam.com/video/k-WSbMW7BPc/v-deo.html
steve lang thanks! I only have a few Who records (who’s next, who sell out, a quick one, and a Greatest Hits) and I only have one Bowie record (Greatest Hits). They are both next on my list of artists I need to collect. Currently having a mini obsession with The Police. I picked up Zenyatta Mondatta and Ghost In The Machine.
In through the out door is fantastic, so underappreciated and for no good reason!
Led Zeppelin II unseated Abbey Road to take the number 1 spot on Billboards to close out the 60's. Kind of fitting actually.

Next one to get is The Song Remains The Same Live Soundtrack.
Agreed. Its a must have.

You didn't mention that the inner sleeve of In Through The Outdoor turns to color when you add water.

Zeppelin 2 was released in 69 and is my favorite also with physical graffiti second
cool collection - are you into The Who and David Bowie? They can be an obsession too.....well they are for me at least!
