🇲🇲| Local Family Invited Me For Lunch| "Normal" Life In Myanmar in 2024
Вставка
- Опубліковано 29 чер 2024
- Let's meet Maung Maung, my new local friend. He, his wife, and his 5 kids are living already for 20 years on squatted land owned by the government. He lives in a small hut which is in very poor condition, but even he lives like he does he wanted me to come over for some lunch after I've told him I would love to see how locals live in Myanmar in 2024.
According to the United Nations Development Program, poverty headcount as a percentage of the population has doubled from 2017 to 2023, from 24.8% to 49.7%, almost half of the population. An additional 25% of the population are hanging by a thread. Three years ago, on 1 February 2021, the Myanmar military overthrew the democratically elected government, undoing a decade of progress. Under the military regime, violence against civilians has escalated, with thousands jailed, tortured and killed. The people are worried, are hungry, and do not have access to good health care.
🌟 Want to help me to help others?
My mission is to make more people aware of the situation while trying to help as much as I can. Up until today, not one NGO can be transparent about the activities they are doing within Myanmar, so I had to be creative how we can help some of the people in need. We can not stop the war, but we can help people in need who are effected by the war.

You‘re so brave, I always wanted to visit Myanmar but because of the war and the situation right now. It‘s such a heartbreaking to see how all the Myanmar people are struggling right now. Bless you and all Burmese people.
Thank you so much for this, this is very helpful ❤️ it’s heartbreaking indeed and hopefully the situation will get better soon 🙏 have a great day

That’s so generous of you mate! Thank you too for helping out 🙏❤️ have a great night
Great videos ! Myanmar will be a great place to visit in the future.
That's very generous of you Mike! Thank you!
Myanmar is very special place, this country could have a huge potential for everything, amazing nature, long coastline, beautiful archipelago, so friendly people, amazing good food, e.t.c.....but at first they should get a peace someway....whic is not easy. let´s live in hope!
😮 Just hope?
You said it well.
One day
Socialism is not going to allow development and a better life. No Matter natural resources
Thanks as Burmese from my deep down of heart I really appreciate your help
Please, carefully choose the specific organization (NGO) because there are so many NGOs wasting donation and doinbg nothing. As a Myanmar citizen, it is hard to say which organization is really helpful right now in Myanmar. They're all doing their own staffs. So, wishing for the best. Thank You Mr. Chai. @Chai_Travel
I’m aware of this thank you for your input and hopefully some NGO’s can keep on doing their jobs flawlessly 🙏
Wow Chai I am stunned. I've seen poverty living in Thailand and this is right up there. Such lovely people making do with what they have. It is called basic survival. They are so brave bringing you to their home and sharing their lifestyle with you (and you for being there in the first instance) . Fantastic you being able to help as you have. Pray for peace and happiness for them and clearly millions of others. Great video mate. 🤩
Thanks Steven! Yeah literally missions. It’s pretty saddening but there is still hope also for the locals. Hopefully the country is able to bring back peace as the big majority want nothing else ❤️ have a great Thursday afternoon 🏆
In Cambodia we bought and supported This Tanaka from Myanmar. ❤❤❤ “Rick Kh “

Respect to those people in the video for taking care of chai with love and hospitality despite their struggles. I'm also from myanmar, currently living in yangon fearing for my 18th birthday lol
Also you don't have to donate anything, just giving our country some awareness is more than enough ❤
(just saying)
Thank you ❤️ hopefully you’re able to find a place where you can be safe and you do not have to fight a war you don’t want to fight

So thank you for your effort to our people coz currently all of us are struggling in each position. the more lower the more harder.
Trishaw is the signature of Manchester United in Myanmar , because most of the Trishaw riders are big fans of Man Utd. And another name of Trishaw is called “ Side Car” in Burmese.
plzs more clip🤗🎉
Welcome to our country❤❤
Chai you have really kind heart and sweet smile ❤
Thank you for saying that 🙏
Again, a huge thank you for your videos replacing the naive, glossy little travelogs and their awestruck bubbles. We across the border are trying to help, but so much more is needed for these amazingly hospitable and resilient people. Of course we are sharing your videos.
Thank you so much ❤️ also thank you for sharing 🙏🏆

Myanmar 🇲🇲 our country was a peaceful freedom improved developed country yes it was 😢 . Yes it was in the past but now it is the opposite 😢😢 We are not happy. 11:39 the mirror looks dangerous 😓
Unfortunately there are lots of poor people in Myanmar now. Even the middle class is trying to make ends meet due to so many shitty problems happening in Myanmar ever since 2020. I have to say I am quite privileged living in Myanmar but even my family is having financial ups and downs for the past few years due to so many peoblems we are facing. The inflation is so high, and I can't even afford chocolates cus they are three or four times the normal price. Its all because of the dictatorship. I hope we will someday be able to get rid of this absolute dictatorship. Even if Myanmar become a failed state, I will still support my people. Merci beaucoup pour cette vidéo!!!!
Thank you. I hope more people in Myanmar a will see the reality on what's going on right now and choose the right side to be on 💪❤️
Love you guy ❤
❤️
Thank you for showing the real condition of people in my country to the world! ❤
❤
Broooo That's my hometown.. I miss them 😭♥️
❤️
I live in Myanmar and I know life is really hard at the moment. I am planning to leave the country soon too and I wish I could come back to Myanmar and support people in the country like you. Stay safe man and god bless you.
Thank you for your kind words and support! I hope you'll be safe ❤️
Chai Travel I recommend you if you go to Chinatown go to the 20th street near the gold selling shop and go to the restaurant near the gold shop and order the friend noodles because in my opinion it’s the best fried noodles in Yangon. I am a Myanmar citizen from Yangon
Thank you for the advice 😊
That's right
these are normal life
I'm from yangon
ကျေးဇူးတင်ပါတယ် 🎉🎉🎉🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Sad but true . Even there are many talented people, it is difficult to get good apportunity in Myanmar. There may poor in financially but in heart , there are many honest people in good heart
You should move to Myanmar mate. You seem so much happier
You have spent time together with Mg Mg Family’s locally and humbly. It is great to seeing your support like paying 10000 kyats for trishaw guy, no complaint. Hyperinflation fuck Myanmar’s people so bad now.
Thank you 🙏 hopefully the Burmese people will find peace again soon
Hope their country get peace soon!
Hello! Nice to meet you ❤. I am also from Myanmar. Actually, I don't live in Yangon. I am from Ayarwady (delta) region.
Thank you very much ❤ for informing the world about us.
Nice to meet you ❤️🙏 hopefully things will improve over time 💪
brother take care where you go. the situation is very tense here. as a yangon local person .i am worried about your safety. i don't know if u notice but right now burmese curency kyat value is dropping like crazy . it is around 5000 kyats per 1 dollar in the market. so many shops are closing these days because they can't sell the products with this exchange rates. also these days in yangon , military is force recruiting young people into military . u have no choice but to join . can't refuse . only way to is to join or flee from the country. they are now starting their recruitment plan again these weeks and a lot of young people will froced to join military and sent to warfront areas and in most cases dead. it is chaos.
Thank you 🙏 it’s very sad what is happening now. Hopefully things will start to look better soon
