Rainbow fish remind me of balloon type fish…body looks too thick up and down with a tiny head….like they got smashed.
Yes, they get funky as they mature, but that's one of the reasons I love 'em.
I missed the giveaway😔
Bummer! We'll be back next week.
Hi Dan would you feel happy to keep reticulated hillstream loaches with a medium size school of either Pristelle, Ember or silvertip Tetra? Also what are suitable tank mates for African Dwarf frogs or a Paradise fish? I've a 20 long and am looking for future stocking options. I'm a wheelchair user so don't want unecessary mantainence
Yes, I think hillstreams can go with those tetras IF the school of tetras is small enough that food can be spread around where the hillstream loach can get to it. Those tetras really rush to the food. I don't know anything about frogs. Paradise fish are feisty...I think the hardier dwarf cichlids and perhaps platies or swordtails would be a good combo with paradise fish.
@@DansFishThanks Dan
Damn I meant to attend, I passed out early last night, getting up at 0200 for work has been brutal lately.
Ouch. Sounds brutal.
@DansFish it was, mandatory ot is coming to an end. On the flip side that means I'll have to get some fish 😁😂

Why do CPDs look colorful in pictures, but not for real?
I don't know what CPD's you are looking at, but a fully grown mature male is a stunning fish, IME.
In my experience CPDs are beautiful, but they are small and their beauty lies in their very detailed patterning and subtle yet very neat coloring……..yes, the males are more stunning because of the red highlights they develop, but I’ll say they are a fish you have to see close up to enjoy….. Not one you are going to enjoy as much from across the room. Plus they have to be settled into their environment and mature a bit before they develop their really great coloration. They remind me of a little brook trout - and I just find them to be a very unique looking fish….. plus they stay super small so you can get a nice group of them and they will not overwhelm a tank. I just wish they were a bit less timid, but a good group of dither fish really helps with that……. I like to keep them with endlers who seem to be afraid of nothing.
I feel like a lot of the pictures you see of them are very zoomed in and are of mature males, so I get what you are saying, but if you get a group and let them get happy in a tank they are fun and pretty or at least I think so……. I also love to watch the males spar with each other and show off for the ladies…
👍🏻👍🏻
