I'm not a veterinarian, so I can't prescribe anything, but we've had pretty good luck with flubendazole here.

Could a person treat with copper to kill the anchor worm does that work?

Yes, copper is effective against anchor worms. It can also be hard on the fish. Dimilin-X is my preffered anchor worm treatment IF the infestation has not gotten too far out of hand. Dimilin-X takes a long time to work.
