I saw the MGs at GWFoS and other Chinese brands and was impressed how far they've come. The new HS looks way better. Will be interesting to know how it performs and drives.
Yes, they’re getting stronger and stronger, the new MG3 we had was excellent.
By the way Paulo we’ve one coming soon 😀
Got the MG ZS 2022 now. Will take a good look at this next May when changing 👍🏻
It must still impress, great to hear, yes this is a well to do SUV, thank you Will
Hi Sorry to say to much background noise, but I am getting confused with all the updates and model numbers, I have seen the MG EHS Trophy exclusive from the USA, but nothing really from the UK, Can you please find out if this model exists in the UK, and any info on that model, it would be appreciated, being a bit hard of hearing does not help, much better when you do the video in Cumbria. Many Thanks welshman2081
That’s Goodwood for you, a professional mic can only do so much, with sooo many people, it’s a 2016 model I presume as a market tester for the US, very little info, and I’ve never heard of it here, thank you Ron 🫨
@@PlanetautoUK Hi Thanks for the info The 2025 HS Trophy-Plug-in, seems similar! Can you please leave a link for this model Spec and Brochure, it would be appreciated. Ron
Best bet is to keep an eye on mg.co.uk as it will have all their up to date info. Thank you, Ron.
That rear quarter and tailgate is a dead ringer for the Jaguar E Pace. I should know I had 2 ! Like the styling, interior looks ok just need to hear how it drives Ben?
Ah ok, hopefully we’ll have one soon, can’t wait to feel the new engine 😀
Sadly sticking with the old GM power plant getting a bit dated but the revisions are impressive !!! Will probably go for a Kuga
The only GM powertrain is in the ZS - a 1 litre turbo. The 1.5 has been used by MG since at least 2013, and was probably developed in conjunction with VW (as per SAIC partnership) Let us know how you get on with the Kuga. Thank you, William
@@PlanetautoUK hy I think you'll find the 1.5 turbo petrol in the mg is the very same one as fitted to the 2017 insignia
@williamburns2959 according to MG at Goodwood its newly dev’d which could mean over hauled unit like mitsi did.
Weird!!! Where is panoramic sun roof ?
They seem to have phased it out.
@@hoanghai5572 It'll be quite disappointing if none of the models have sunroof at all. I hope the top trim has it.
@Kelle128 we’ll have to wait and see
Looks high
Decent ride height and good proportions
Yea new Hyundai T is 35k +.
Yes, prices do vary a bit, decisions.
I had the last one as a courtesy car for a week and it was horrible to drive. It was like driving a big blob of jelly... it was so roly poly and a million miles away from the Ateca i had 5 years ago. If they can fix the driving dynamics this could be a decent cheap SUV. It certainly looks the part.
It’ll be interesting to see if they’ve played with the dynamics, yes HS isn’t setup like a sporty SUV more family orientated, it does make it comfortable and on a back road it’s chuckable.
No shit 😂
Looks underwhelming.
For an SUV that starts at £25k ish, this is £29,495 it’s sleek, modern and sporty, underwhelming is a strange one to say the least. *amended price and model
@@PlanetautoUK I'm not really a big fan of the design. It looks like any other Chinese cars or whatever the designer came up among other brands with that light bar taillight. Hence why it's underwhelming. I was expecting it to be a bit more unique in design than this.
@Kelle128 oh, does that go for the first gen too, or just this latest one ? SUV’s can only do so much design and still be as practical spacious as required and still fit mid size. Which models do you like?
I thought it started at 25.900 something....😳@PlanetautoUK
It used too, but so did many others
A step ahead but not so original, more chinese, in the 2025 european taste is chinese taste
The key is appealing to existing owners yet freshening the whole vehicle up, we think this is the perfect balance Giulio 😀
@@PlanetautoUK I'm hobbyist car designer from 1975 circa till today here in Italy, the trend of design of today is european + chinese
@giuliopedrali4794 wow, that’s amazing 😻 yes trends are certainly changing, it’s great to hear your views, we like our 90s cars we have a C124, ej9 and a Mk2 Golf GTI.
@@PlanetautoUK I prefer the design, italian design in particular of the 60s 70s and 80s, in the late 90s the car design was too influenced by californian design too impressive and with many curve, not so rational, today's design in my opinion is better than 90s design, also if with a infinite numbers of oriental and westerns SUV similar togheter like in the 80s the japanese cars that was beautiful not original and rationals. I design in particular old brands British hypothetical cars for 2025 (SUVs, saloon limousine and compact) like Alvis, Austin Armstrong Siddeley, Riley, Sunbeam, AC, Lanchester, Bristol, Triumph, Argyll (scottish) Lea Francis, Jensen or Invicta.
That must be a most fulfilling, creative endeavour-how did you end up doing this?
29k for this crap? I can buy so many better cars for this price, for example Hyundai Tucson, they better stick to chinese money
Have you driven this, or is this just on the grapevine as it were? Tucson is a fantastic suv but still £33k ish OTR.
I’ve replied once and it disappeared, the gist - China and Korea make better and better cars Just Me, we’ve the MG3 Hybrid+ and it’s great car and a level up on previous gen that goes back today then we get a Torres ICE first followed by an Electric. The Musso is one of our favourites and we’re looking forward to seeing what Torres offers 😀 Kasper drive them and you’ll see for yourself.
It was crap before and crap now.
Yet sells extremely well and the new PHEV has more range 😀
Newp.
Why crap? It's ok...their cars are good for now...stop acting like you did with kia in the 2000's..now kia is one of the best
Manufacturers generally are getting stronger and stronger
Well, this 'crap' you say is sold really well. Is it still crap??
