What a beautiful car, I can certainly see why a Porsche owner would sell his Porsche for one of these beauties. Peter Brock would be proud of Peter Champion for what he has done in building the four HDT models in the modern car bodies.
Young fella? Young at heart :-) Thanks for video. Design work of car is tastefully done, especially considering that it's heavily inspired by the VK model.
Nothing was stopping Holden from shutting up shop. Holden and ford both were making terrible decisions in the 80s, 90s and early 2000s, it all caught up with them. Two car manufactures completely uncompetitive in the markets beyond commodores and falcons without any drive to export in any meaningful scale until it was far too late to save them. They signed their death warrants when they refused to compete against the Skylines, the it was a long slow and drawn out death.
I wonder if Peter Champion and the rest of HDT considered selling the Blue Meanie stateside withe the advant of the Pontiac G8 & Chevrolet SS. Certainly a cool car since I saw it on a episode of Top Gear Australia a few years ago.
I know there are faster cars out there. But nothing beats the sound of a grunty V8. I love F1, Le Mans etc. Love all motorsport. But just love the sound of V8's. Music to my ears.
Wish I had the money to buy these cars and keep them out of the hands of these fuckers that buy them and then hide them away like that. Granted he took it out once but the true spirit of these cars ( and Brock HIMSELF has said this) is to use them for what they were made for. It's sad to see them become garage queens.
@@jdhshuajfjueudhbd6227 You have NFI , just another muppet bogan worshipping garbage commodores The only people laughing are the ones selling them at inflated prices to you gronks 😄
Peter Brock and Peter champion were not business partners He was a good friend with peter brock, Peter helped him with input for his museum there was no money exchanged . I know the Brock Family very well. Yes HDT is owned by Peter Champion but if you notice on the Cars there is no PB Signature. These cars are just mock ups (REPLICAS) as Peter Champion says, The new owner just likes to make his own stories up !. They were NOT Built by Peter Brock. (Designed and Built by Peter Champion )
Jason They were NOT Business Partners , As i said They were good friends there was never a business proposal in Place, Peter Brock was looking at teaming up with Phil Munday they were going to set up shop to restore Early Brock commodores in Melbourne, You obviosuly have no idea do you .
Peter Champion contacted Peter Brock and invited him to yepoon to get ideas about his Museum, Peter Brock spent some time there giving Peter Champion Some Ideas, The Bark perimters and museum layout was Peter Brocks Idea. When he was there he signed a few cars and one of Peter Champions Planes. There was no Business connection whatsoever.
It's a spiritual successor built with the same passion as the original by Brock's friend and business partner..and they are absolute fire breathers, not 'nothing cars' ...550kW/940 Nm, the blue paint, the HDT interior and those rims..magnificent..

Oh yeah, from a Porsche to a tarted up replica heap of shit
Even the interior is no different to a bloody taxi spec

Great interview PC. Such a credit to the passion, drive and energy you continue to bring to the brand.

How could you go from a Porsche to that
+Art Vandelay a lobotomy and a few huffs of paint thinners should do the trick
That would kick a porsche's ass thats why
This comment didn't age very well haha
