I'm taking steps towards starting a micro bakery right now. I'm at the "get your loaves consistent" phase so no plans of sales or customer acquisition yet. That can all come after i have a product.
Love your content thank you so much! I’m in Queensland, Australia and am just starting out and working all the things out to start a micro bakery at home. I have a lady who buys my chicken eggs and she’s a nurse at a local aged care facility. She asked about selling my sourdough loaves and I just got my first order in (I made them some taster loaves to try yesterday) and they’ve ordered 15 loaves already!!! I offer half size loaves for because some customers are residents of the home. But I was so overwhelmed and I have been watching your videos for help so it’s been appreciated!!
Without adding a lot of commercial scale equipment, what do you think the limit is on a home micro bakery? (Loaves per week) assuming you’re not going to bake every day. Thanks! 👍🏻🍞
I like the Wonky loaf, lol! Imperfections are beautiful. I just restocked on flour and was shocked that King Arthur and Bob's Red Mill jumped big time in pricing over 3 dollars more for a 5 lb bag. But to be fair all flour went up not just the other two I mentioned. I am in Northern Ca Our power bill out here is insane. Gas and electricity are criminal in pricing. I am glad my oven is gas as it helps a little bit but not much.
WOW!! They look marvelous friend!! 😍 At what temperature are you baking them and for how long lid on and off? Sorry so many questions! You have a new sub and I am learning so much from you!!!
@@madarafarms this is super helpful! I'm going to try that instead of 485. I feel like my loaves get a rise but not quite as yours. Granted mine are about 700g/1.5lb. I never knew that 2lbs could fit in a 5qt Dutch oven!! Thank you!!!
The idea of identifying your loaves is super smart! 🤓
Thank you!

@@robscott553 I’m not sure.. I feel like I’m pushing the limited now around 80-90 loaves
@@madarafarms that’s amazing! Good work and good videos. Thanks for sharing.
This was so helpful. I’m considering a bread subscription service because the consistency is appealing. Thank you!
It is a great way to get your name out there!
Have you ever tried or looked at doing open bakes instead of the dutch ovens? If so can you share your experiences/findings. Thank you 🙏
@@tinaho7339 I have and I haven’t had success. I’m saving for a bread oven

It’s crazy how pricey everything is! But more Dutch ovens help!
What website do you use for your orders?
How many grams are your loaves? They look huge and beautiful!! 😍
They are 2lbs without inclusions so around 900grams

@@keybrown4580 I bake at 435F 30 minutes with the lid on 15 minutes with the lid off. I’m here to help any way I can!

I use a 7 qt Dutch oven. Does that make them spread out instead of going up
I shop at Costco but do not find bread flour there. Where are you sourcing yours?
I get my from our local grocery shore (Giant Eagle) if they don’t have it I got to Walmart.
Where is the link to ur new Dutch oven??
So sorry I forgot to add the links! They are now in the description ❤️
@@madarafarms I am not thrilled with UA-cam's new format but then again I may just need more coffee, lol
@@mrgreenbudz37 more coffee is always a good idea 🤣
