Troll Hunter is such an underrated film, if this turns out to be anything like that it should be good.
Can't agree more 👍🏼 I was about to comment about Troll Hunter. This looks more of a high production and non Americanised version of the troll hunter.
Troll Hunter was a fantastic movie, I really do hope this comes close.
I remember that one scene were the mc was like "why didn't he tell us he was Christian"
This looks so good I can’t wait
Yesssss
Yes! Make Norwegian Troll movies a full-blown genre, please. Troll Hunter has been doing all the heavy lifting for the last twelve years. I hope this movie is amazing.
Im sad to see that it wont be the original director taking part in this film.
The first time I saw Troll Hunter I was a middle school student lol and the movie is truly amazing.
And let's retire the zombie genre for at least a generation.
@@hippo99x Make Norwegian Troll movie great again!
I love when they do movies on mythological creatures and actually take it seriously. If this turns out to be good, Netflix should really consider digging deep into other mythologies. There’s so much potential for good horror/drama with a lot of the legends throughout the world.
I would love to see something like this with Inuit mythologies and settlers in the US and Canada.
Yes. Next movie:
Chupacabras
Bigfoot
Nessie
Hash slinging slasher
Im glad to see people still remember the Troll Hunter after almost 12 years. Hearing the name of this movie makes me nostalgic and takes me back to my middle school days.
No reason to forget it. it's a quality movie. i've seen it 2 or 3 times since it's release. Better than most American or Holywood crap, which for the most is instantly forgettable
Troll Hunter was amazing!
That was 12 years ago? OVER a decade? I am old.
@@martinithechobit we are old : - (
There was another one, about Santa. It started off as a series of youtube videos about catching and training them for export. In the movie, what we know to be santa's turned out to be the worker elves.
Anyone else know what I'm babbling about?
I'd love for this to exist in the Troll Hunter universe !
TROLL HUNTER YESSS
I actually thought it was like a loose or direct spinoff of that world
I guess you don't know much about movie Trolls. Norway made these for 50 years.
I remember trollhunter as one of the movies that surprised me most by how good it was.
That would my dream movie , loved troll hunter massively
Yes! Give us more down-to-earth folklore Myths like this please, thank you Netflix.
Let's wait to see if it's good first
As a norwegian, trolls is depicted as scary in the numerous stories told to children in either kindergarten and primary school. Seeing how the stories of the trolls will now form a ground base in shaping this upcoming movie truly awakens these mythical stories. What i find most surprising is that the creators of this movie has definitely taken the aspect in which the mountain range are trolls. I am definitely going to watch this movie as soon as it releases ;))
In my country a troll is a troll
Norwegian is a great language
@@thicccorgi6187
Thats interesting :0
About time!!!! Troll Hunter was an EPIC film, and this, set in Norway, with all that amazing scenery, has to be equally brilliant!!!
Roar's "The Wave" was absolutely brilliant. Can't wait to see this!
That movie made me forget my dream of ever seeing Geirangerfjord :-P
This looks EPIC! Finally more Scandinavian folklore coming to life!
so this is the american version without the norwegian language
@@neelyUScongress They're speaking norwegian in this trailer.
Coming 1 dec update now coming to netflix 1 dec!
@@Data4664 Hyped!
I hope we get other Troll species as well, it was part of what made the Troll Hunter film so interesting alongside the details on how each lived and operated in their environment
part of me is hoping that Hans appears in this movie…
Norway has the capability to make movies at the level of LOTR with all those norwegian tales. Trolls. Huldra, Nøkken, Thor, odin, valkyries, goblins etc etc. Imagine making al those in a trilogy movie or series. Making movies or tv series out of Peter Madsens Valhall cartoon who saw it's light late 70's would be epic.
All those tales you have mentioned are norse tales, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Iceland.
Also most of Peter Madsens comics was covered in the 1986 movie, so making a series out of them would be hard.
@@mugskitrue that. with enough budget, nothing is hard
@@mugski Dang Norway really had such an impact on all of Scandinavia when it comes to folklore?
@@johanvryvig6673 nope they did not, Norse culture and folklore is older then Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Iceland
so all can claim to have a impact equally, with Danmark, Sweden and Norway having the bigger impact.
There is a danish live action movie remake from the Valhalla Cartoon.
As a Norwegian, I've hunted numerous Trolls myself 😌
Hei! Greetings from Poland :)
Yet we never saw them.
@@Kaps3L Heia!~
My other was norwegian and we never went back after i was abducted by trolls
Troll Hunter was a surprisingly awesome film I caught on Netflix years ago. Very underrated! Glad to see more in this genre
I love that the world is catching up technology wise in terms of movies. We now get to watch talent and quality entertainment virtually from everywhere.
There's always been good movies, regardless of technology.
Troll Hunter is going to be really hard to beat for me. With it being such an older film and to this day still stands up to most big monster movies. I hope this one gets it right. Looks good.
Id argue its better than most big budget monster movies.
you're not christian are you?
"Otto Jespersen: TROLL!"

@@hellbillypete.7898 😂😂
Netflix is really at it with all the trailers and wonderful content the offer. Bravo.
Wishing for while also knowing it's impossible that Hans shows up in a cameo à la David Dunn in Split revealing that this was a continuation to Trollhunter all along and establishing the Troll cinematic universe.
Norwegian films I'm learning are really captivating and I love Netflix for their vast amount of foreign films.
I'm from Norway so this movie really makes me hyped. The CGI not too bad either
Release date?
Who says its cgi?
@@nikelmaharjan6755 1 dec netflix
Is this set in the same universe as the troll hunter movie? Or a remake? 🤔. Damn I forgot that existed. Wasn't a bad twist on a found footage situation. Fun to watch
I think it is set in the troll hunter universe since the troll in this trailer does show some similarities to the ones shown in the found footage movie.
It's same Norwegian myth, but not based on the movie. Norway made Troll movies since 1970's.
@@V3ntilator and everyone knows this. The reason we care for it to be in the same Troll Hunter universe is because the plot and concept of the movie was cool. It's not only about it being a troll. And because there are many troll stories, but the designs are all different, and the ones from the movie looked really good.
I'll be genuinely surprised (and amused) if these two are related. Trollhunter was a humoristic take on the found footage phenomena. This one is going to be serious business.
@@seanwallace1700 the logo font is very similar too
I loved Troll Hunter. It would be awesome if this is part of the same lore and if you the guy from the original movie showed up. He was awesome.
Except Troll Hunter was more comedy, this might be more serious.
@@markg.7865 it really wasnt, like at all. it may have been occasionally self aware, but in presentation it never went full comedy, and it was for the most part a serious movie, and at times legit horror. everytime i see people making this claim it always just ends up looking like you havent actually wwatched the movie and just seen some bad synopsis online.
@@samuraibeluga3749 LOL Y U SO OFFENDED?!?
@@caniripurjuul8142 you have wierd definition of offended....
@@samuraibeluga3749 The comedy element of Troll Hunter stems from the casting of Otto Jespersen as the Hunter. Great Norwegian comedian. He is dead serious through the entire movie, but comedy is still lurking beneath the surface, just waiting for the right moment. Like when the Christian boy finally comes clean when he realizes that trolls actually CAN smell Christian blood.
Im norwegian and grew up with tales of these trolls, we believed them when we were young. Im so excited for this and that my countrys fairy tales becomes proper movies.
But they are real. RIght?
@@killer2403 nope, sadly they are mythical creatures told in stories passed on for decades.
@@yunguunicorn5070 Ive seen one here in sweden, definately real!
@@gollese Wait REALLY?? 😦
@@yunguunicorn5070 that does not mean that they are NOT real. Centuries ago, how many thought dinosaurs were mythical. I'm 80, just in my lifetime, Its amazing how tales have been proven true, truth has been proven to not be. Always keep your mind open to the "what if" and enjoy the anticipation of the "holy crap!"
This is truly a surprise! For some time I have been repeating that there is a need for original subjects and this is definitely one of them! I can't wait to find out more!
If this is anything like Troll Hunter it will be epic 👍
Imagine if the "guy" shows up in this movie. Since he "walked away" from everything. (If you watched Troll Hunter you know what I mean.)
Adorable acción otro éxito mundial lo veré en cuanto lo estrenen 🇵🇪👍🌎
We need more trolls from Norway! Looking forward to watch this movie. And please @Netflix, let us watch Troll Hunter to warm up ("Oh no. This title is currently not available in your country")
I watched Troll Hunter movie when I was 20, I can't wait to see this!
Finally!!! We need more movies like this! :D
yes
Nice! I was hoping someone would make a follow up of Troll Hunter.
Not necessarily a sequel but definitely something set in that universe.
The setting in Norway and the use of Norse troll mythology made it a fun movie. It makes generous use of plot elements from Godzilla, King Kong, and Jurassic Park, but even spotting the film reference made it fun !
Troll Hunter was good movie too --- like "Men in Black" but with a secret police force keeping track of trolls rather than aliens.
Only Netflix foreign shows look somewhat interesting these days
Netflix seems to have a lot of interesting projects coming out soon.
The sequel to this, Troll 2, is such an underrated gem
YES.. my fav movie is Troll Hunter and I've been on a Troll kick ever since!
They going to show the part where it crashes an Internet cafe, gets online and starts talking crap? Shame if they don’t.

Loved Trollhunter and now this, looks a stunning new vision for trolls
My first thought was also troll hunter. What a good film. I'm going to head cannon this as a prequel/sequel to it for now
I’m with marsh walker, Troll Hunter was exceptional not just because it was so good but because it was so unexpected.
This looks great! I loved the movie troll Hunter. Very Unique. Curious to see how this will play out.
I've been in Norway. it is such beautiful nature
Please be like Troll Hunter, it is one of my favorite movies to watch with friends because it’s such a gem
Loved Troll Hunter. Looking forward to seeing this one.
Troll Hunter (depressing but awesome) really brought on a large scale what trolls are in Norse mythology because I've always assumed they were cute little fae like creatures with long tails and big noses before then - so this will be great! It looks creepy.
Troll hunter is one of the best found footage horror movies and this troll seems a lot like it.
This looks awesome! I hope it's in the same universe as the previous Troll Hunter film.
Glad to see I'm not the only one who immediately thought of Troll Hunter. Loved that movie
ive watched Troll Hunter at least 20 times..never gets old..gonna be tough to beat that original movie..
This man always tries to do something and extra ordinary and make his audience fell excited for every next, love you .

Yes, Troll Hunter is amazing, and I hope this is equally as much fun.
MY BODY IS READY! Norwegian movies and shows are great. And thats coming from a Swede.
Erlisch. Nice that you brag about Norwegian movies ! Thank you, dear neighbour. It will be interesting to see if this movie beats the Troll Hunter ! I can't wait like kid to see this movie 😆 And I'm 37 now 😄 Hehe lol.
THIS is how a Troll should REALLY look like!! Super excited!
How the heck does it use a computer keyboard with hands that big? I think we’re just be trolled again.
Its so mush in Norwegian farytales that should be on film/cinema. We have amazing farytales that should be filmed.
I've always wanted to see mythically accurate trolls in something.
This looks AWESOME!!! Can't wait
Glad to see thats its going to be from Norway 🇳🇴 and not a HOLLYWOOD shot for shot remake of Troll Hunter!
Good to see the Troll Hunter fandom is still alive and well, such a great movie, hopefully this will be just as good.
Some good old trolls ... I'm always happy to see some good old trolls 👍
Espero que sea tan buena o casi, como la película de Troll Hunter.
Troll hunter is one of my favorite films. i hope this is similar or a possible continuation.
Just remembered Troll Hunter . Hope this is as good as that one
Wow it looks amazing 👌
It wasn't deep inside the mountain - *it was the mountain* - cool, when it opened it's eye in the background! The last time I saw Trolls were in Lord of the Rings! Described as strong, vicious and/but unintelligent! Lore has it they turned into stone in sunlight. So, those three people are there at sunset perhaps? Hope this has intelligent script for human cast! ;)
You realise trolls are a Norwegian creature of folklore right? They aren't from lord of the rings, that'd be orcs, orcs were made by toilken, trolls from Lord of the rings follow their own rules, trolls turning to stone isn't an established rule of those from Norwegian myth
@@derangedcrouton1864 trolls turning to stone is very much a important part of the norwegian, and originally norse mythology, troll stories, and most likely where tolkien himself got the inspiration from
It's appropriate that an internet connection is needed to stream Troll.
I love all mythical, supernatural, otherworldly beasts. Anything that i wish i could see for real, from verrrry far away
I am waiting for this TROLL 🔥🔥
Bruh, this seems nice and all, but what the people really want is more *TROLLHUNTERS!!!*
Speak for yourself
This might be spin-off to that.
Hmm this reminds me of The Neverending Story. Pyornkrachzark (known in the movies as Rock Biter) is a character in The Neverending Story. He is a member of the rock chewers and lives on a diet of only rocks. One bite is enough to get most rock chewers to the end of a month. All rock chewers use stone for everything they need, from furniture to toys or vehicles.
Troll Hunter is one of my absolutely favourite films. So if this comes even close I'm going to be beyond happy.
Norway keeps slaying on ott. They deserve da praise mediocre kdramas are getting
cool finally a norwegian movie that actually looks greay. I am norwegian
Yup this is definitely tied with troll hunter at 0:14 because they froze and die when they get hit with light, and the troll looks identical to the big one in the movie
didn't that one die tho? im pretty sure it crumpled to millions of pieces when the final battle ended in that movie ?
@@silentgaming6287 true but this one looks like its cover with alot of rocks and mabye its protecting it from the light?
The best myth movies come from the country of origin.

When an ancient troll is awakened in a Norwegian mountain, a rag-tag group of heroes must come together to try and stop it from wreaking deadly havoc
Paying homage to the great "Troll Hunter". Such a good "doc".
If there's a massive troll,
In your neighborhood
Who you gonna call?
Kratos!
wow I have always said this when we go on a trip and I see the big huge mountains I tell people what if they r just giant people sleeping waiting for their turn. exactly like this movie I imagine them
"Troll* is a ancient Norwegian monster, it has existed in Norwegian mythology from centuries. So, this is not a new thing.
Also, watch the movie Trollhunter, its very good.
Doubt it'll live up to the greatest film ever made Troll 2.
Can't wait to watch two seasons of this before it gets cancelled
A Netflix iria estourar fazendo um filme do "shadow of the Colossus".
“They’re eating her…..and then they’re going to EAT ME….”
"Oh my GAAAAAAAAHHHD"
Eu amo essa temática de troll é da hora mau vejo a hora para assistir
Man if EVER there was a time to say “Get to the chopper “
All I know that if they introduce giants, then things will get out of hand.
Also, glad to hear that Brad Garrett is still getting VA roles, even if it's for monsters.
Out of hand? As in people will figure out that giants were more than just myth? Idk about trolls, but there definitely were giants. There were 10ft+ tall natives already in America when the Spanish "colonized" the land. Theres a lot more to our history than we're taught.. *A LOT* more....
The Troll Hunter was a very enjoyable found footage film. Nothing is exciting to me anymore, but heck ya I'll watch this.
