Man I can't believe something Beats doesn't have more bass. My old Studio Buds hit hard, louder than my Pro 2s in bass, but the mids win out for me on the AirPods for rock. I wonder if the improved venting lessened the bass of the Buds +? I notice the pressure in my ears with the old Studio Buds, but the depth of bass on them is great. I really thought about getting the Buds + as best of both worlds between the old Buds and AirPods Pro 2 and I guess I was wrong. I should pick up another set of the old Beats just in case my current set quit working, but really I only use the AirPods these days.
Hi Aaron, I’m wondering if the seal on the buds when you took the samples was tight .. I own both and the buds don’t sound as mid heavy as they do here.. I’ve noticed though that if they are not sealed properly in my ear the low frequencies disappear. Your frequency response graph seems to be quite a lot less lower frequencies compared to other graph comparisons I have seen.
Compare a pair of original homepod to the pair of second gen. Some are saying original was better, some say new one. Please, remove this confusion if you can!

I noticed you recommended the Nothing 2 / Soundcore 4 and now this one for phone calls. do you think any of them will do better than the other for this purpose? would you consider making a decent wind test for the call quality in the future? @@joelmadison7952I don’t think it’ll get the job done, and it will probably be just bulky - buying premium earbuds and putting something on them. There has to be decent earbuds that can manage normal wind noises
i have tried many and own both of these and i can tell you , what you are looking for is the beats buds plus. I wish reviewers woudl do more real day today tests, the sound blocking of the studio buds plus its incredible. Wind noise is non existence on calls , i have even tried putting a very loud speaker and TV and the other side wont hear it. I use this for my video calls while i am on the DAtacenter since i work on IT. I use the Airpods Pro2 for other day to day things and for my tinnitus, but the Airpods Pro are very poor at bloocking exterior sound, wind, voices, servers, etc both high and low frequencies and it does start to sound robotic on long calls. So try the beats studio plus, its definitely the ones for what you are looking.
You nailed it on the Beats studio buds+. Very flat sound. And when I turned them up to feel the bass the vocals were ear piercing and even started to distort. Very disappointing because I love the unique look.

Maybe you should say that there is absolutly no diference from pro 1 to pro 2 and they can t be called new product the difrence is so small its negligable if anyone else is running apple company then tim cook we wolud have indipendent airpods with screen on the case and memory on the buds so you can run feely without your iphone that will never happen until timi is there and we will have toobers such as yourself to tell us whats new in the airpods because we cant tell the diference 😂
It’s probably there to give the sound a kind of "punch" in the mids and highs so that a normal consumer is pleased with the sound. I’ve had the original Beats Studio buds, now I have the AirPods Pro 2 and I can definitely say that the beats have a very mid/high-oriented sound. Therefore the lower mids get totally lost. This also means that the AirPods sound waaay more detailed and clear.
I’m guessing you’re talking about the frequency response and not EQ? Not sure about that part. With all due respect to Aaron, these sound samples and measurement data is more or less meaningless. If you look at measurements done using industry standards like 711 couplers and now more recently, B&K 5128, you’ll quickly see that these measurements don’t look anything like what they really are. And so the sound samples are also way off. I really wouldn’t put any weight into the measurement data and sound samples here. There’s way too many variables between the earbud in question and your own ears when listening to samples recorded by someone else. You’re just not going to get anything close to what it actually sounds like. Look at SoundGuys’ review for the AirPods Pro and Beats Studio Buds Plus and you will see accurate measurements using B&K 5128. Crinacle, Super Review, 0DiBi, AREGINA, and RTINGS are also all excellent sources for measurement data. Aaron is great for the overall review and talking about the sound performance as he perceives it.
Air pods pro is better then the beats… I just bought the Beats Pro having high hopes but was disappointed… no volume control on Beats as well you can put the volume control left and right ear but not as good as air pods - beats feel cheaper quality as well - it’s simple AirPods are better so don’t waste your money trying to find another earbud
How can you possibly provide sound comparisons like, bass, ambient noise and al the others on a UA-cam review when examples have to go through so many networks and different audio systems. Not to mention manipulations, (which i do not think is the case with you). You provide excellent comparisons otherwise. Just a devils advocate view running through my head.
Fuck AirPods get the beat studio buds plus they’re way better and they have more bad life and they’re more comfortable and their see-through and they sound better add the noise canceling is not any worse

The seal was tight, made sure of it throughtout the tests. They’re really not mid-heavy at all. Compare them on loudnwireless.com and you’ll see 👍🏻

Some one needs to invent a low-density foam tip for the ends of the Airpods to block wind.

Elovoc clear will fix that problem but the trade off is sound quality

What video did you watch? There’s literally nothing better about the beats except the form factor and that’s only if you prefer that on the beats.
