TRC and Sydni, thank you for allowing us to observe in real time the steps and procedures! As a fellow home shop detailer, I have seen a few tips and tricks that I'll certainly be adding to my regimen!
Really good video. I like how every step is followed by an explanation that’s results oriented, and not necessarily “by the book.” Love the quick polish on the hood, and extra protection added as an investment to your future self. 5-minutes of polishing won’t hurt to do as a favor. I use Defender a lot for the same reason; to help me with an easier detail next time. Gonna try the applicator & waffle towel for the glass.
Sydni, I learned a lot from your video. My key takeaway is that your very thorough and definitely earned every penny of that detail. I will have to try the screwball brush for the interior. Spraying the steam into the towel seems much safer for sensitive surfaces. I've been concerned that steaming could dry out and age some interior materials. Also, boxing the interior glass with the microfiber applicator is a genius idea.
Big thanks Sydbi and TRC, for me this was an hour of pure gold. To witness such a thorough view of the process with your commentary Sydni, to pickup all your tips and tricks, its really something. Big thumbs up! There were 2 moments which before I saw you do this I would definitely be afraid of / very careful to not do it this way: 1.leaving PS cockpit on surfaces for what seemed to be a rather long time - is this really safe with a wide range of interior cleaners or only P&S? 2.Bug off residues behind the front grill - arent you afraid it doing some damage long term without rinsing it off with a pressure washer? Thx
Glad this video was helpful. 1- I can only speak for P&S Interior cleaners on the safety to leave them. Cockpit and Xpress only; don’t leave enviro clean like this. 2- like I did in the video I usually rinse it with the detail keg or yes a pressure washer if it gets behind the grill. Its just is going to depend on the vehicle. Other times I only need a brush with lots of rinseless on it to rinse the bug off away.
That interior brush looks legit. A nice and quick solution for a slightly heavier, intermittent interior clean. I need to get one. That steam after the wipe! Why I have neglected trying that! 🤦♂
I have seen so many detailing videos over the past two months to refresh my detailing skills before I get back in the game that I’m very sick and tired of 99% of them. This was in the 1% portion. Thank you! I saw a few “pro tips” that were very helpful . The only disappointing thing was I wish there had been a product list of the products used in the video like the canister sprayer. I’m sure I’m not in a position yet to afford buying the canister sprayer, but.I know can find it. Again, I enjoyed the fresh Ideas.
Hey Clay, I also like knowing what products are used in detailing videos. I believe she used P&S Absolute for the exterior. P&S Tru Vue for glass. P&S epic waterless wash for door jambs. P&S cockpit and P&S Swift for the interior. The canister was called “No Rub”.
If the vehicle doesn’t need to be clayed, can you just apply bead maker with a FTW and then follow up an hour later with defender to get that added protection, thanks John
Came here from Obsessed Garage - quite a different detailing process for some things! So completely new to me was that canister thing you said contained 256:1 of Absolute. Is that method of washing the vehicle the same no matter how dirty it is? Do you ever use a pressure washer and foam cannon and/or the traditional bucket and mitt method?
Sydni’s videos are always awesome! Rag Company please do alot more videos like this! It’s awesome to learn better ways of doing stuff. Sydni just makes it look so easy. I think she secretly taught Levi and Anthony most everything they know 🤣🤣 jk
This was great Sydni ,fellow garage detailer as well. The Rag Co. did a great job capturing the whole process and you along with Tony did awesome. Thanks for the content and appreciate you bringing us along for the detail , vehicle came out great.
Fantastic step-by-step video. Very educational. And I absolutely love the explanation of defender over the top of beadmaker before the bead maker has cured. Such a simple solution and fabulous final touch for you and the customer.
Great tip on the steamer and Absolute, maybe fill the steamer with DI water? Am learning rinseless has multiple applications 256:1 baby, thx YVAN! Always pickup a few good tips on every pro detailer, your emblem cleaning technique is a great touch. Only takes 2 mins and it’s something you can point out to the customer. Emblems are always a tough area to make nice especially on black paint, ughhhh. Now I see a better use case for a cockpit brush. I’m just a weekend warrior detailer, but like to keep our cars nice. It’s too bad no one ceramic coated that vehicle, would make your life easier. What rack did you use to hold all those bottles?
Fantastic! It’s the Kobalt rail system with dowels, however right after we were done filming Tony and ripped my entire shop apart and started over! So stay tuned for a shop update
Sydni is my number 1 favourite lady in the global detailing Industry. So cool that we've now connected - initially via Linked In. Such a shame I didn't know of her when I was in Boise back a decade ago. Spent six months there in total with two separate visits. Boise was so nice back in 2010-2013 especially when Burger Time was still around
As a mobile detailer in Atlanta, I only dream of air conditioning. It is INCREDIBLY hot and humid here this summer. So hot in fact, I can't use Beadmaker at all. Only leaves streaks for me. Bummer :(
I did at some point but since, I have swapped to Carpro Hydro2. It’s much easier to me and lasts six months. Spray on, wet car, immediately rinse off. No dwell time, no cure time, just makes the water fall off.
@@bannerrecording I'm up here in Forsyth county so I feel you with the weather statement lol. You like Hydro2 over something like Gyeon Wet Coat or AMMO Reflex?
Hey Sidni! Wanna say a big thank you for the window cleaning advice with the microfiber applicator! I just went ove into the garage to try it out and it makes the job so much easier! I was using 2 FTWs so far which is already a breeze to work with, but changing one towel to the mf-applicator makes it even better. Cheers from germany🥳
This is amazing!!! So glad it helped. It changed my world about 4 years ago and I can’t clean windows any way. I have found if you can remove frustrations from certain processes your whole detail goes better and keeps you loving what you’re doing🎉
Great tip that I picked up from another detail channel. Open the door with the handle and close the door using the handle. This way we don’t micro scratch the clear coat
This is not a bad tip! I certainly do that on corrected and coated cars. But I assure you this was not an issue on this vehicle. It’s far past the point of being micro scratched. I think one of the reasons we wanted to do this video was to be completely real and not fall into the internet obsessed ways of being perfect on imperfect cars.
The first thing you should do is take your Dyson V15 vacuum, and vacuum the mats, so no dust, and dirt can escape onto the carpet, your floor, nor driveway. We have to always be clean. P.K.

Question: I love the idea of Absolute being used in a steamer, so I just bought both for car detailing. Do you leave Absolute in your steamer 24/7? I would love to leave Absolute in my brand new McCulloch steamer 24/7 and not worry about a side effect that would ruin and/or shorten the life of my steamer. And if I can, I’m assuming 256:1.
Yes 256:1. I can only tell you my experience but absolute has basically lived in my steamer for 2 years and I’ve never had to do white vinegar therapy, and have had zero clogging issues. Before absolute I clogged and blocked steamers constantly with hard water
Matt black wheels look good. Keeping them looking like new is a pain. Or a good wheel cleaner. Chemical manufacturers should focus on this. A quick efficient cleaner.

So sorry, I wasn’t the clear 😅 the Scrub Ninja you mentioned is an interior scrub pad and has material you wouldn’t use on the exterior The jersey bug scrubber is only for bugs and wouldn’t be used on interiors

Hmm, what was that grey sponge like um, sponge that you used to wash the car?
USS (ultra safe sponge) from TRC
Did we miss the wheel cleaning? Went straight to dressing?
Yes unfortunately, if you noticed the trucks in the driveway, I had contruction going on in the house and they had the water turned off so I actually had to clean the wheels before Jimmy could get there 😢 but I used crystal wash and brake buster, DF brushes, mud buster in the wheel wells and rinsed everything with Pressure Washer
@sbgthedetailer thanks, I did notice the workers. I was interested in the products used. Appreciate it!
Yes do you have a page with all your details
What do you use on rubber floor mats non slip
Natural Finish, Bake in Sun. Wipe off necessary but generally it absorbs it all
What brand of steamer was that, thanks
McCullough 1385
She literally says it right in the video
What products did you use
They’re all linked to the video
What vacuum hose setup is that?
It’s a central vac with about 160 lift and then the hose is the retract-a-vac. It was about $600 installed and is the absolute best $600 I’ve ever spent! It’s soo great.
What is it that you’re using as a vacuum aid? What does it do?
P&S Paint Gloss
It’s an anti static
What kind of absolute or which absolute do you used in the steamer
P&S currently only has one Absolute Rinseless Wash. its diluted 256:1 in the steamer
@@sbgthedetailer so you do put rinseless wash in the steamer?
Do you clean the Seatbelts, Sydni?
Sydni or TRC, what is the difference between Swift & Cockpit? Both will clean & protect?
Cockpit is a stand alone interior cleaner, strong
And Swift is a cleaner and protectant combined for light easy jobs or maintenance. Not meant for heavy cleaning or heavy conditioning.
What is the bug rag? TRC sell that?
Yes. Jersey Bug Scrubber! Must have
Is that the same as a ninja scrub it whatever they called ?
@@MichaelBoouch no, that’s an interior scrubber. It’s the Jersey Bug Scrubber
@@sbgthedetailer I just ordered a bunch of micro from trc and the jersey bug scrubbers came with the kit. So I can’t use them for interior ?
So sorry, I wasn’t the clear 😅 the Scrub Ninja you mentioned is an interior scrub pad and has material you wouldn’t use on the exterior
The jersey bug scrubber is only for bugs and wouldn’t be used on interiors
Does your city’s zoning laws allow you to legally work out of your garage? My city’s laws do not allow this.
Yes, I have a home occupation permit. My neighborhood is permitted for home business because of its location. Areas vary so you definitely need to make sure you can legally operate out of garage
Which in wall vacuum system is that one?
It's called central vac by Coltrin with an added retraction setup.
Yep, hose is called RetractaVac
How much water I could add to the steamer you have
I’m not sure, I usually add about 2-3 cups but I think the capacity is larger
Smart lady right off for the house and good for your taxes gg
