Dimash and Igor make masterpieces together. Igor wrote this song just for Dimash because he knew Dimash could sing it. Dimash wanted the Kobyz instrument included and I agree. Dimash needs to sing for a movie soundtrack or game soundtrack. Dimash is on a whole other level. He really improved during the pandemic. Thank you for promoting Dimash 👑. Vocal king

@@k.vn.k I was going to say "not many", since, as far as I know, Dimash and Tim Storms are the only people in recorded history with vocal ranges of 7 octaves or greater. But that's not exactly the right answer for this song. As far as range, probably quite a few, as this song covers somewhere between 4 and 5 octaves (too tired to properly count atm), which doesn't seem to be extremely uncommon amongst professional singers. As far as skill, probably significantly fewer. This is not at all a technically easy song to sing, though most of Di's songs are quite advanced. I sure as hell wouldn't be able to as I have only two octaves and nowhere near the amount of skill required, being entirely self-taught. There are probably some singers out there, though, who could do a decent job with this one- not as good as Di, but decent.

@@youlleatamuffinandlikeit4596 No definitely not. This song covers 4.5 octaves and the average singer has a 3 octave range. We're talking effective range, not that you can just "hit" the note. Obviously since the lowest note is a C2, it would have to be a man to sing something like this, but no other man can hit an F6 in head voice. Only Dimash can sing this in simple terms
Tim sings really low and then even lower. He could not reach those high notes, not even close. If I remember right, his highest notes are somewhere around G5.

I love the epic nature of stranger it's incredible but please listen to and react to Dimash singing the meaning of eternity. It's my favourite Dimash song and relatively overlooked. It has gorgeous lyrics with incredible and angelically pure singing from Dimash 😊
Guys, I was looking forward to your reaction. I love your breakdowns and analyzes. Dimash is absolutely phenomenal and unique. There is no other artist on this planet who can give you such experiences. Let me give you some information. The traditional Kazakh instrument at the beginning of the song is Kobyz. Kobyz has two strings made of horse hair. The resonating cavity is usually covered with goat skin. There is no gram of metal in this instrument. Kobyzes were sacred instruments, owned by shamans (traditional spiritual medics). According to legends, the kobyz and its music could banish evil spirits, sicknesses and death.
Now about the song...Stranger is the first masterpiece of the last Dimash trilogy. That's how I call it. The three songs are in three different styles. Stranger symbolise birth. This dong is incredibly impactful and penetrates to the bone marrow. An epic performance. This performance is full of symbols Everything, the music, his voice, his movements, lyrics, the whole staging, the lights, the slowly moving light circle behind Dimash at the very beginning, absolutely everything you see and hear symbolise the whole birth process, from the beginning to the end. At the beginning 9 man and 9 women carry candles /the small light of life/. They hide Dimash. His high notes in the middle, symbolise mother's cry. At the moment he was born, the candles go out and the stage goes on fire. His longest note at the end symbolise his very first breath. It means I ARIVED. Absolutely mind blowing performance. The second one, Fly Away, is our life path-the matrix in which we live. The spinning globe at the back ground all the time, shows the scale of this matrix. Again, everything in this performance is full of symbols - the creepy zombies, the dancers movements, Dimash's movements, the lyrics... Everything evokes the
filling of rebellion. Dimash fights with this matrix and he desperately wish to escape of it. He is the only one who refuse to dance the matrix dance. He wanna fly away. And the final song of this trilogy Ave Maria - that's our soul's fly to the heaven. Absolutely stunning. Absolutely. STUNNING. /All 3 songs are on his channel/. Amazing reaction as always. Thank you.

Yes to everything you guys said. To your point about the genius-level people sharing the stage with Dimash in this performance: Olzhas Qurmanbek is the kobyz player. Dimash says Olzhas is the best kobyzist in the world. The first time we saw him accompany Dimash was on the 2017 "I Am Singer" show in the performance of "Daididau". So he's been an integral part of Dimash's team for at least 4+ years. There was one time in China that Dimash performed "Samaltau" with a different kobyzist. I'm sure the Chinese gentleman was a master instrumentalist, but wow not the same expertise as Olzhas. The second time Dimash performed "Samaltau" was the livestream for the Tokyo Jazz Fest, and Olzhas was with him again. The kobyz solo was literally something out of this world. Does Dimash elevate the musical understanding of his listeners? For me, four years ago I had never even heard of a kobyz, and now I can discern the skill level of the kobyzist. It's become my favourite instrument! For me, this example is representative of so many things surrounding Dimash's music. Now I feel I hear all music with a much more educated ear, and my gratitude to Dimash for such a gift is limitless.

As always I love your reaction. You, other singers and vocal coaches agree on one thing- Dimash elevated the standard of music. As one singer said, "Dimash challenged him to push himself to the limit". An Italian vocal coach commented that Dimash made her do crazy things that she never did before. Another singer stated that after watching Dimash she will do the vocal exercises and practice singing every morning, and another one lamented that Dimash set a new standard.

I agree with you, Weleska, that what Dimash has is a gift. And Dimash flourished his gift by immeasurable amount of hard work. By the way, after finishing his masteral course last year, I learned that he is now working on obtaining a doctorate degree (PhD). He keeps on improving himself and his education the way he improves his voice. He said he wants himself to be well-educated.

On August 19, 2021, for the first time the sound of kobyz was heard on the stage of the New Wave Hall in Sochi Olympic Park.
The tandem of Igor Krutoy (piano) and Dimash Qudaibergen (voice) with the best Kobys player in the world Olzhas Qurmanbek, have presented a new, really unique song in English with enchanting oriental melodies.
The idea to add kobyz to the new song came to Dimash after he first heard the melody "Stranger". He decided that the folk instrument would fit perfectly into the song, giving it an exciting sound. The performer of the kobyz part is Olzhas Kurmanbek.
The music was created by Russian song-writer Igor Krutoy (musictitan, billionaire), and the lyrics were written by Mary Sharon Vaughn (*1947, is an American musician, songwriter and producer. She writes hits for famous singers around the world) The main arrangement was made by Dimitris Kontopoulos (Greece) and Yerlan Bekchurin (Kazakhstan).
“It was Dimash’s talent that inspired me to write this song, his immense vocal abilities and his desire to sing for a large international audience. Franky, I don’t see anyone else who could perform this piece in such a way”, - Krutoy said. (Source: Dimashnews)

I had the same feelings - beautiful melody; epic movie music vibes; many familiar but also very exciting and exotic sounds like kobyz, Eastern melismas; excellent showcase of Dimash's vocal range and skills, the sheer beauty of his voice; Dimash's handsome attire and great acting, the whole drama on stage; great poetic and open lyrics; universal message... Everything in this song is on point.
Btw, I had the same feel with 'Ave Maria's first listening... That it will be a universal success. Because it is at the same time familiar (as an 'Ave Maria') but a original, unique version; sounds otherworldly beautiful and spiritual; gives people a feel of divine, a spiritual experience - even healing one. It's needed, especially at times like now... And of course there is sheer delight of Dimash's vocal mastery; his beautiful delivery on stage - his hand movements like angel's wings, so expressive and captivating, they build dynamics also... A magical performance.
