This is awesome info-this is probably the most comprehensive, clear visitor video on Pearl Harbor I've seen. And I've been doing a ton of research for our first Hawaii visit in June/July! Thank you for doing these!!
This was soooo helpful! Thank you! My hubby and I are going to Hawaii for our tenth anniversary October 2024 and Pearl Harbor is at the top of our list of things to do.
Hi Miriam.. I went on the Recreation.gov site and it says that there are no reservations available anymore...Does this actually mean that there are literally no spots to go see the USS Arizona? If I showed up early in the A.M. is there still a chance I could get a ticket? Thanks!
Tickets are released 60-days prior and again at 3pm the day-before. The tickets go fast for the day-before, as in within 1-2 minutes. If you're set on going on your own, you can go in the morning at 7am and wait in the standby line. Expect a wait and ticket is not guaranteed (hence, "standby"). Even if you don't get a ticket, the Visitor's Center (free) is really interesting and has 2 museums. There's also other historic sites you can visit: USS Missouri Battleship, Aviation Museum, and the USS Bowfin Submarine.
I have read on a travel forum that a few people state that the USS Missouri isn't open yet for tours(because of Covid). Do you know if that is true? Plan on seeing the Pearl Harbor in May 2022. Great informative video! Thanks!
Great information! Thank you for this video. I'm planning a trip for my 12 yr old son in Nov. and thinking to go solo vs organized tour service due time time constraints.
We plan to go to Oahu in June and appreciate your comprehensive videos; they've been so helpful. I have a small question, I have reservations for the ferry/admission to the USS Arizona at 8:00am. Do we also have to have preordered tickets to the USS Missouri or will we be ok to purchase them the day we are there visiting (since we will be there early)? Thank you in advance for your response.
Please encourage visitors to put Arizona pl or Pearl Harbor National Park in their GPS. Or advise visitors that Ford Island Bridge is only accessible with Government Issued identification. The Aviation museum and Battleship is on Ford Island). So many visitors try to come on the bridge and get turned around and it really backs traffic. Some visitors also have tried to demand their way on and that ends up becoming a lockdown. With this, visitors can get their reservation on time.
I bought a package to tour on our own. It’s the Passport to Pearl Harbor AD. Includes passport to Pearl Harbor Ad, passport to Missouri GA with AD, passport to Bowfin AD, Arizona AudioVR passport AD and PHAM GA AD. It gives passport to Pearl Harbor at 8 am. Is this all I need?
Great information... thanks for posting this video!! I found it so confusing just trying to get over to the Arizona. We're heading to Waikiki next April so I'll definitely take your advice on how to book. Thanks again!!
Thanks for the very informative video! It really helps a lot! I’m staying in Waikiki in January and plan on going to the Arizona Memorial. What is traffic like to drive from Waikiki ? Any advice on reserving early or afternoon? Thanks!
I didn't finish the video yet but so far - very informative. What does "Dosa' mean? She said something like "Dosa lead tours". We have never heard that term before. Thanks
Can we store our luggage at the bag storage facility ? It mentions bags on the site but I didn't want to assume that bags = luggage. We're coming off the Hawaiian cruise and plan to stop at the Arizona then the Missouri and head out to the airport after that.
Pearl Harbor Historic sites lists their bag policy online as: "For security reasons, bags are not permitted at any of the Pearl Harbor Historic Sites. For $7 per bag, $10 oversize/luggage, visitors may store backpacks, purses, luggage, and shopping bags at the baggage storage area located in the front of the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center." I'm not sure if luggage would be carry-on luggage or full check-in suitcases. I'd double-check direct.
I hope you getting paid cause you killed it. You're hired. No really can you get me the right package for me? I'd like to see all the pearl harbor museums.
In your video you keep saying now for the time of year to go when is now? Just found your video and like it a lot do you have any more on that island 🏝️ of things to do and see Thanks From Wisconsin
Aloha! The video is from early 2022. More video links are in the video description box. There's a few video playlists! If you're looking for more things to do, you might like the itinerary: geni.us/itinerary-14thingstodo.
Hi! Sorry to keep commenting on your videos, but if my family & I wanted to choose the organized tour, can we choose a certain number of attractions or will we have to see all attractions given that it’ll be an organized tour? If you already answered this, I apologize in advance!!!
@@YestoHawaii okay! Can they (USS Arizona & the aviation) both be booked via recreation . gov (I spaced this out so yt won’t delete my comment)? I’m asking bc I saw somewhere where you have to book both on two different websites.
Thanks for the useful information. I’m planning a trip to Hawaii this summer and Pearl Harbor is definitely on my list of places to visit. Your tips are very useful.
Not sure how to get the answer to this. Maybe you'll know. I know you have to have an ID to get in. My kids don't have an ID. Do kids need one? 8 and 10 years old.
Nope, just adults 18+ years will need an ID. You won't need an ID for the Visitor's Center - but you will for the other sites on Ford Island (USS Missouri Battleship & Aviation Museum).
I'd give it the entire day. About 1-2 hours per historic site plus transit between them: USS Arizona, USS Missouri Battleship, USS Bowfin Submarine, and Aviation Museum.
Glad it was helpful! I update the description box to keep the video relevant & leave links for the NPS (National Park Service) website for the most up-to-date info.
I might be going for spring break but tickets aren't being released on the site until the day before, and I hear they get scooped up fast. If I can't get online, how bad a wait should I expect?
This is the info I have been looking for all over the internet lol! Thank you so much for the very clear and descriptive information. This video came at just the right time for our trip coming up in June ☺️
We plan to do this tour but it may rain. If it is just drizzle could we still do the USS Az tour? Watched your other hiking videos. They are so practical and helpful. 😮
It depends. Typically, it's the wind that may have that portion cancel as it's a US Navy ferry that goes back and forth from the shoreline to the USS Arizona memorial.
Great video with the info I was looking for. We fly in (from eastern Canada enroute to Australia) with an overnight layover and are trying to fit in just the USS Arizona Memorial in the morning before departing. Thanks.
Thank you for this. I want to see it all but am afraid it will be too overwhelming to take in all the sites and do them justice. Another concern is we plan to visit the USS Arizona on our transition from our Waikiki hotel to Aulani. This will require us to leave our suitcases in our rental. I realize this isn’t ideal. Is this asking for trouble while parked in the lot at Pearl Harbor? We obviously wouldn’t display our suitcases in the backseat but I am concerned. By the way our date is this Memorial Day weekend and our tickets for the USS Arizona fall on that Friday.
For what it's worth, you'll learn more here on UA-cam than at Pearl Harbor.. just drive past it....it's a tourist trap. Let those poor souls rest... they won't let you bring ANY form of bags past the visitors center... not even a see-through bag..
Thank you for watching. You actually can bring clear bags like those allowed at stadiums with some restrictions. The National Park Service website has full details (Link: www.nps.gov/perl/planyourvisit/safety.htm).
I want to go on a tour that includes the USS Arizona memorial ferry, USS Missouri battleship, Aviation museum and the and the submarine all together. However I’m finding it difficult to find a tour that includes all 4 of those together.. can anybody help me out with finding one ?
Great video, thank you! Our family is visiting at the end of September and considering Pearl Harbor-mainly the memorial and the submarine. How much time would you suggest we plan to spend to see those two things?
Awesome information!!! I’ve been skeptical about taking thebus here because im scared of not knowing my route but definitely spending that dollar to reserve, arrive on the bus, then i wonder if once im there i can just purchase my ticket to the battle ship ..?
We will be visiting next year and one of our reasons is to visit Pearl Harbor. We will be on land a full day and half. There is a combo tour of Pearl Harbor and Polynesian Cultural Center. Do you know if this is a rushed tour of Pearl Harbor or worth it? OR do you know which tour would be best for a group of 10 to 14?
Combo tours typically only do 1 of the 4 attractions (usually USS Arizona). If you are looking to see anything else (USS Missouri Battleship, Aviation Museum, or USS Bowfin submarine), you would need to do it on a separate day. Send me an email and I'm happy to send over a more detailed email with options. Hope it helps!
There are 10 of us in our traveling family. What tour company will take you on a tour of the Arizona memorial and visitors museum only? Not interested in the submarine, battleship, or aviation museum.
Aloha! This one is a great option & it includes reserved tickets so you do not need to wait in the standby line: shrsl.com/3l5mj. Book early though because its peak summer season (June/July/August). Also, make sure all 10 are booked under 1 reservation (instead of multiple bookings with different names) to ensure you will be on the same tour bus. Hope it helps! 😊
If you hold a military ID you can drive your POV onto Ford Island and park near the Missouri and the Oklahoma memorial. The USS Utah memorial. is on the other side of the island
So if I were to go see all four attractions, how much does the whole thing cost total? Sorry, I lost track of what you were saying. Can you list all the prices you were saying here to make it super simple for us! Thank you in advance!
There’s links in the video description box for the most updated pricing as pricing can change! I listed each price in the video at the time of filming but I think some prices might have gone up 😊 Hope it helps!
Seasonality matters. Summer season is harder to get a ticket especially if you're in a group and want to be on the same ferry time. For most people, if it's a once-in-a-lifetime trip, the tour makes sense because the ticket is included so it's easy & stress-free.
THANK YOU I was so confused how to go about how to do this without spending hundreds on a fancy tour when we stay locally! This information helped a ton.
The only tours I've seen in the $200 range are the ones that include all 4 attractions. For most people, the USS Arizona & USS Missouri Battleships are the highlights. And as always, a lot of this is seasonal & how people like to travel. For me, personally, if I was visiting - I wouldn't want to spend an 1-1.5+ hour on a city bus, wait in line, not know what I'm looking at, etc. I'd rather have an organized tour with narration, A/C, and so forth. It really just depends. Others just want to see the visitors center, which is free. It's what works best for YOU! :)
There's a few options depending on timetable. Go to: www.thebus.org/ and enter in your hotel as well as the approximate time you're looking to go. It'll route you to the best options to get there.
Lots of great information! Your channel has a lot of great info and I’m learning a lot for planning our trip in 2024…yes, I’m a planner who believes in building in Flex Time on a vacation. Thanks again.
From Waikiki, the bus can take about 1-1.5hr depending on traffic. It is what people use to go to school/work so there will be frequent stops. You can go to this website (www.thebus.org/) to enter your Start location to see which bus stop is closest to where you are staying. There's time tables on the site as well.
My sister and her family have been living in pearl harbor Hawaii for almost two months now they live on base they will be living there for about three years she's in the air force
Is it possible to see all 4 museums in one day, or would that be too rushed? I would like to do the self guided tours and wasn't sure how much time is recommended with the headsets.
About 1-2 hours per attraction plus transit between. The Visitor's Center and USS Bowfin are in the same area. The USS Missouri and Aviation Museum is in a separate area.
You're so welcome! Make sure to get a reservation for the USS Arizona if that's on your list. The first come, first served option has been discontinued and it's standby line only.
Great comprehensive video! Thanks for making this, it's very helpful. Where can we book tickets for USS Missouri Battleship and the aviation museum? I can't find the link online, thanks
Yep! This one: www.realhawaiitours.com/pearl-harbor-tours-oahu/?ref=29. There’s also a longer one that goes to the USS Arizona & USS Battleship Missouri (www.realhawaiitours.com/pearl-harbor-missouri-arizona-memorial-tour/?ref=29). What did you want to see while there?
Loved your video, so spot on with information. We would like to see AZ Memorial, Missouri, Aviation Museum, and Bowfin Sub but want to do it with a tour group with pick up from hotel on Waikiki. Having trouble finding one that will do all four. Any ideas?
Absolutely! Here's a video I made on a guided out I went on: ua-cam.com/video/3kBUQvmo4Rg/v-deo.html (And here's the link to book 🎟 BOOK PEARL HARBOR TOUR HERE: shrsl.com/3dh02 🎟). Hope it helps!
Thanks for the feedback! Under "Settings" > Click on "Playback Speed" > It should default to "Normal" but you can change it to 0.75 to make it a tad bit slower. Cutting the breaths out is an editing style to make a video quicker/shorter so viewers can get to the key points on the video, rather than waste a viewer's time stretching out a video. Hope this helps! 🤙🏼
This is a very good video even if you have visited PH around 15 times like myself. Some of these places I have never been too. The problem is that they continue to add new exhibits or improve the older ones.
Thank you so much for all your helpful videos they are greatly appreciated. I was supposed to visit Hawaii for the first time at the end of March 2020 but sadly Covid happened I am hoping to reschedule my trip in the near future. Is there a particular tour company that you would recommend?
You're so welcome! It's definitely confusing so I'm glad this video helps. I've just updated the video description to include some that I recommend! I did the full day tour option not too long ago.
This video is just what we needed! We are coming to Oahu this June and we’re wondering about Pearl Harbor. Is there a specific bus route for The Bus that goes to Pearl Harbor? Thank you for this video!
From Waikiki, the bus can take about 1-1.5hr depending on traffic. It is what people use to go to school/work so there will be frequent stops. Hello. Great video and very informative. I just discovered your channel as we plan our trip for end of September 2022. We're traveling with my brother who requires a wheelchair. Any tips for Pearl Harbor and all other island sites and activities and navigating the island with a wheelchair would be much appreciated and super helpful. Keep up the great videos!

Glad it was helpful! I just updated the video description box to include the virtual tours I mentioned in the video.
I agree, she's very good at what she does. just became a new subscriber!
Hello How do I contact you to set an itinerary for my visit?
Great video, but using the word "now" is useless, because every person who ever watches this will be watching at some unknown future date.
Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback! 🤙🏼
Though as the title says.. 2022
she forgot to mention i think that there are no purses and bags as you visit the area but super info
Actually you can if they are clear! :) it’s in the description box

amazing video!! great attention to detail and perfect coverage of what to expect and insider tips. you guys rock!

For me it is impressive that Pearl Harbor is still in operation after the attack made by the Japanese in World War II
So much history there!
Glad to find your video first. Very clear and informative. Exactly what I was looking for.

The Passport does not always include the USS Arizona ticket. I’d double check your inclusions - the audio tour is not the same as the ferry ticket.
Great information... thanks for posting this video!! I found it so confusing just trying to get over to the Arizona. We're heading to Waikiki next April so I'll definitely take your advice on how to book. Thanks again!!

This video was SO helpful. We were lost in a sea of confusing info online about visiting Pearl Harbor but this helped us decide how to plan our visit!
Glad it was helpful!
Hi, you didn't mention Ford Island base tour. Do we have enough time to visit all 4 places plus Ford Island?
The USS Missouri Battleship & Aviation Museum are on Ford Island 🌺
Can we store our luggage at the bag storage facility ? It mentions bags on the site but I didn't want to assume that bags = luggage. We're coming off the Hawaiian cruise and plan to stop at the Arizona then the Missouri and head out to the airport after that.

We are coming to Hawaii in July and going to Pearl Harbor can I buy in advance tickets for the submarine tour and the battleship Missouri?
You can buy in advance, on-arrival, or via commercial tour. All links are in the description box! Hope it helps! 😊
I heard there is 2 hours lineup to Pearl Harbour. Is it just for some attraction ? We will be in Honolulu in March. Is it that busy in March ?
It can be for some attractions. March is busy due to it being Spring Break. After that, the next busiest season is summer (June/July/August)
I hope you getting paid cause you killed it. You're hired. No really can you get me the right package for me? I'd like to see all the pearl harbor museums.
Aw thanks! This one is the guided tour with all four (4) historic sites: shrsl.com/3dh02

Un inmigrante mexicano puede entrar a la zona militar de pearl harbor?
No ID is required for the Visitors Center. Photo ID is required for the other parts of the base - USS Missouri or Aviation Museum.
Hi! Great info! Is the parking free at visitor center?
Yes, parking is free! 🌺
With a Ticket can I get a ride on the USS Arizona and does it go that far out to sea
It's a Navy Launch boat that goes to/from the USS Arizona memorial. The ferry ride is short, maybe 5-7 minutes each way.

💛

For me, personally, if I was visiting - I wouldn't want to spend an 1-1.5+ hour on a city bus, wait in line, not know what I'm looking at, etc. I'd rather have an organized tour with narration, A/C, and so forth. It really just depends. Others just want to see the visitors center, which is free. It's what works best for YOU! :)
Great video but I wish you'd slow down on your talking, im Australian and find you talking very fast and miss a lot of what you say.....
🤙🏼
Very helpful. Thank you!
You're welcome!
What is the bus number for the city bus to Pearl Harbour, I am staying at outrigger East where do I pick up the city bus please?
There's a few options depending on timetable. Go to: www.thebus.org/ and enter in your hotel as well as the approximate time you're looking to go. It'll route you to the best options to get there.
Lots of great information! Your channel has a lot of great info and I’m learning a lot for planning our trip in 2024…yes, I’m a planner who believes in building in Flex Time on a vacation. Thanks again.
Happy to help! We also do 1:1 Concierge Services via zoom for custom Hawaii itinerary ideas.
Thank you for the amazing video ! How rough is the ferry ride? My wife is 25 weeks pregnant and wondering if it is safe
Hmm it’s pretty short and it wasn’t rough at all when I went though I’d still double-check with a doctor.
You mentioned city bus to get to Pearl Harbor. Do you know how long will it take from Waikiki and which bus?
From Waikiki, the bus can take about 1-1.5hr depending on traffic. It is what people use to go to school/work so there will be frequent stops. You can go to this website (www.thebus.org/) to enter your Start location to see which bus stop is closest to where you are staying. There's time tables on the site as well.
Yes very helpful thank you. I have kiddos and i plan on doing short tour to the USS Arizona
You're so welcome!
My sister and her family have been living in pearl harbor Hawaii for almost two months now they live on base they will be living there for about three years she's in the air force
That's awesome! I'd bet you've visited (or will visit soon!) 😊
I’m so glad I saw this video! We’re planning a trip and unfortunately the websites are not clear about a lot of it.
Glad it was helpful!
Love it!!! Thank you
Mahalo for watching!
Thanks for making this video. Taking my parents to Pearl Harbor in January next year.
🤙🏼
Yes comprehensive. Also didn’t know about the aviation tour. So again so helpful
Mahalo for watching!
Thank you for this very informative video. I'm going to Oahu for the second time and planning a trip to Pearl Harbor Museum.
You're so welcome! Make sure to get a reservation for the USS Arizona if that's on your list. The first come, first served option has been discontinued and it's standby line only.
Great info ! I didn’t know you could book a time slot for the Arizona via a web site for a Dollar $ .. I’ll be doing that on my next visit 🤙
🤙🏼
Great comprehensive video! Thanks for making this, it's very helpful. Where can we book tickets for USS Missouri Battleship and the aviation museum? I can't find the link online, thanks
Thanks for watching! The USS Missouri Battleship and Aviation Museum tickets can be purchased on-arrival or at the links in the video description.
Fantastic info. Do u have an organized tour operator u recommend for pearl harbor .
She kept saying "visiting now" as compared to another time. When is "now"
Probably when the video was posted.
Great video. I imagine your previous employer and their guests miss your expertise.
Aww mahalo!
Thank you for the information. Planning a trip to visit March 2023…
Glad it was helpful!
Great content, thank you
Thanks for watching!
Your suggestion perfect. Sooo appreciate it:)
Why did they cut all of the breaths out? She is speaking too quickly.
Do they alow retired military do drive on to the base or do military still have to leave vehicle at visitors center
Hmm...I'm not sure. I'd check their site directly: www.nps.gov
This is a very good video even if you have visited PH around 15 times like myself. Some of these places I have never been too. The problem is that they continue to add new exhibits or improve the older ones.
Thanks for watching! That's true, there are new exhibits often but that's a good thing so there's always something new to visit/see.
Do they offer military veterans or senior citizen discounts?
Some commercial tour companies do!
I am a Vietnam vet and this will be my first trip to pearl harbor. Looking forward to it. Thanks for all the tips.
Thanks for watching!
Great job!!!
Mahalo!
Best information I’ve should’ve done my research before going
Mahalo!
You can go to this website (www.thebus.org/) to enter your Start location to see which bus stop is closest to where you are staying. There's time tables on the site as well.
@@YestoHawaii thank you! We can’t wait to come visit your beautiful island! 😊
Is March a good month to visit? Thanks in advance.
It's a bit busier due to spring break but weather is nice!
what is the best way to get to Pearl Harbor from Pier #2?
Taxi or Uber/Lyft would be the easiest.
Do you still have to wear face masks at Pearl Harbor?
As of now, its required in certain areas of Pearl Harbor. Here's a link for more info: www.nps.gov/perl/planyourvisit/conditions.htm
Thanks so much for watching! If you could, send me an email & I can email you over some options that are ADA friendly. Happy to help! 💕
@@YestoHawaii thank you for replying and offering the suggestions; however, what is your email address or what are the steps to find it?
Watch your videos all day long.
Mahalo!
