My cap tube is broken, does the entire TXV have to be replaced or only the cap tube?

Is cap tube on txv broke? The tube Attatched to txv bulb? If so : you can replace just power head of txv. If it's txv system.

I don't know anything about A/C system, but the cap tube goes to the "flat side" of the txv. my A/C works fine but was told I needed it fixed in order for my heater to work. one company told me it will cost so much that I should replace the entire system with a new one. (I didn''t believe him) another told me approx $500-$600 because it needed to be refilled with freon once repairs were made. (the technician seemed to be a real honest person)
