  • Here are the 6 skills I taught my daughter that boosted her two grade levels in just a few months! This video was sponsored by GameHouse Original Stories #deliciousworldgame
Visit my unique link to checkout Delicious World! deliciousworld.onelink.me/ema...
You all will be amazed at the progress if you teach these 6 things.
    I have to wait a week to add the other link, in the meantime get started by reviewing the following sounds, and short vowel sounds: a, e, i, o, u; t, n, r, m, d, s, I, c, p, b, f, v
Then, study compound words or multisyllabic words that have ONLY those short sounds such as:
tomcat (two syllables, both closed), dogrun, batman, mended, laptop, etc. Make sure they also write these words down!
Week 2 should be spent on MASTERING the silent e, including writing.

Okay Akeeba, PLEASE come out with a reading/language curriculum already! This was FANTASTIC! I used your advanced phonics pdf with my son this past school year and it was the TRUTH. We took your advice and made it fun. I would introduced the new phonics sound with read it, find it (with his magnifying glass, he'd find and circle/highlight the sound from a wordlist) and write it. We close the lesson with a search. I'd write the sound on a foam card and stick it somewhere with a clue like "ar, wanted to help with the laundry today, can you find ar?" He'd use his magnifying glass and search with purpose 😂😂😂. He LOVED it. We didn't go through the entire list as we started toward the tail end of the school year, but will definitely continue and add on tips from this video ❤❤❤

I'm in 7th grade and my reading level improved so much during the years, in 3rd grade I wasn't confident in my reading or throughout 4th or 5th during the summer of 5th and throughout 6th I started reading books, manga (Japanese comics) and watching kdramas ( Korean dramas) anime (Japanese cartoons) with subtitles and it really improved my reading a whole lot and I feel more confident in my reading now.

Your oldest and my child are the same age. Reading has been a struggle, but I have seen improvements since starting homeschooling last year. I think a lot is just from reading together and speaking in general. This is awesome! I finally came across you just a few days ago and I am blown away and still figuring out where to start since we are already in second grade. I personally feel so many things would be easier if we got her reading level up. She likes to read (most of the times), way more than I did at her age, so I have high hopes for her. I’m glad you are up here helping us and breaking everything down to us with the resources we need. Thank you!

It's funny because we are doing All About Reading Level 3 with my 2nd grader and I was feeling bewildered at the content - starting out with syllables, which is not really how I remember learning how to read. This is definitely reassuring that I should just trust the program and myself - as I'm homeschooling. She is naturally pretty good at just sounding things out. I'm like - WHY ARE WE JUST LEARNING SYLLABLES?! 😂
