This program came at a right time. I have a student who I need to help read and Enjoy it as he reads. This will help my young 5 yr old Granddaughter, learn to Enjoy Reading also.
Ordered! Thank you so much. I called and they were on it! As soon as I said video they were knew what I was talking about. Lovely conversation, and extremely helpful.
Thanks so much! I’m trying to teach my 6 year old daughter to read and she’s crying and I’m crying too this is so hard and I’m struggling because I don’t want to upset her. But she has to at the very least try and shes adding letters that’s not there into words. This was needed because I just stop crying 😢
Yes, sounds like she’s guessing and not looking at each letter in the word. Start her on the Kindergarten level, it will be too easy for her at first, so there will be no tears! And it will correct her from reading sounds that aren’t there.
Don't feel alone. My 5yo daughter has been practicing & do well with letter sounds. However, I have to continuously remind her to stop trying to guess. She'll sound out every letter sound in a word & when she attempts to blend them to say the word, she'll say a word that sounds similar but begins or ends with a different letter sound than what she sounded out perfectly. It's def a struggle.
I'm definitely in the same boat. My 5 year old knows her letter sounds but has issues blending. And so guesses alot, using rhyming words. I feel like I'm failing at teaching.
Great to see you again Akeeba, my children are no longer babies, thank God!!!! Thank you for sharing and your knowledge! Congratulations on your 100K!!!!!
I’m so happy you shared this. My daughter who is 5 is a great reader however I’ve noticed as of recently she will get stuck on new words and instead of sounding it out she will start looking around or just look at the pictures in the book and stop reading. So I will try to focus more on books with words she knows more of. Thank you so much 😊
I just spent a few hundred dollars on this program for a public school class I just acquired. I really need my children to be successful. I appreciate you you very much. Will check in with you again in June.
This is so helpful. I have been looking for what will work for all my kids. I have six kids and have been homeschooling since 2013! Yet have not found a good, solid curriculum that really helps the parent teach their child how to actually READ! My kids have comprehension down. They need help filling those gaps! Can’t wait to see them independently reading.
By the way one of mine has severe dyslexia and has been in tutoring 2x a week online with an OG certified tutor. We tried all about reading, etc etc and he was still struggling until the tutor. Answer to prayer. Yet, I still needed something for all the kids to learn the basics and continue learning.
My kid is in the 2nd grade and struggles with reading. His teacher is stressing me out. She told today that he is not where he needs to be and it’s stressing me out. He has never been behind and the school is not making adjustments due to the pandemic. I love your videos they have been so helpful. Thank you so much!!!!!
I'm so sorry, I know it's hard for kids right now! They are "behind" not do to any fault of their own. Start on the first grade level and he will catch up in no time!
Thank you so much for everything you share. My 4.5 year old is reading because of the tips I was able to get from you. Getting this program next year ☺️ ! Now is there a video for your suggestions for other subjects?

Detroit Public schools used McGraw and Hill and yes as a student from elementary to high school I can testify that those book were not made for everyone to learn because allot of it was geared towards white people and how they live and everything about their history. I thank God for you💕💕💕💕 and I'm very glad that more people are empowering all people and not treating a persons skin as a sin because the Bible never treated sin that way either, it was all about serving other God, idolatry, covertness, adultery, etc., never about skin and hair or eye color.

Hi Akeeba! Great video! Keep it up because I value your experience. I am newly teaching 4th Grade Special Ed. I welcome your input on differentiated lessons.
So many videos discuss how easy it is to teach the kids how to read but it would be nice to actually show it especially with a child that’s a beginner because honestly it’s not as easy as y’all make it seem.

(Homeschooling Mom) Would teaching 3 lessons a day be too much? What does your homeschooling day look like? Being disorganized and constantly changing numerous curriculum's, I wasted a whole year and my 8 year old has fallen behind! I feel terrible and need help so I can build his confidence and bring him up to speed.
Thank you for taking the time to do this video. Would level K be good for a 3 and 4 year old who already know letter sounds and can read two and three letter words? I'm trying to help them advance to words with four or more letters.
Do you recommend this over the method you mentioned a few years back? “teach your child to read in 100 lessons”? We did get it, but haven’t started yet. Seeing this update I’m wondering if this new book should be a replacement or be used in conjunction with the other one. thanks for this update!
I think if you want to work quickly getting your child to read, stick with the hundred easy lessons. But if you have time, this book is more fun for kids. And it teaches them to spell. overall, this series is teaching kids a lot about the way words work.
I love your feedback. I have a struggling 7 year old reader. She can read some Bob Books and we have done phonics, but I'm realizing we are not doing enough phonemic awareness or enough writing practice. I'm thinking reviewing the K level key areas of phonemic awareness during this summer and starting her on the Level A for the school year. Or do you have a phonemic awareness product I could use instead? Thank you.
Just a suggestion, if your child is still struggling after having additional practice consider a screening for auditory processing. How the brain interprets/perceives sounds heard.
Is the teacher’s guide absolutely needed ( seems like there are lots of inspiration in the student book) in the k level of this book? Thank you so much
You could use this or other synthetic phonics curriculum like All About Reading. Or you could choose an easier Linguistic Phonics method like "Reading Simplified."
