Wearing his domino mask under his helmet for no other reason than dramatic effect when he takes off the helmet is the most Jason Todd thing ever. Jason Todd out Extras _everyone_
I think it was to make Batman remember him as robin and how he failed him. Kinda to get under Batman’s nerves since his robin costume has the same mask
It could be both reasons. It doesn't have to be one or the other. Just because it has symbolism doesn't mean it doesn't have a practical use. He could be wearing the Robin mask under his helmet as a psychological attack against Batman AND to hide his identity when he uses his helmet as a grenade (although in all honesty, who the hell wears explosives around their head?). That's probably the true intention anyway. Jason WAS trained by Batman, a dude that wears a bat themed suit to scare criminals AND has a practical intention for pretty much everything he does. Psychological warfare and tactical awareness are both pretty obvious traits that Batman displays.
I hate how in this, batman just throws a batarang into Jason's neck to stop him from killing joker. I like how the movie handles this situation, batman just walks away. The only reason why batman threw the batarang into Jason's gun in the movie is because Jason aimed it at him.
That is one timeline I want to see. The one where Batman saves countless lives by choosing to walk away. Batman could be like, "I can't cross that line, Jason. I don't have it in me to come back from the brink... but I won't keep stopping you." at which point he turns and walks away, deaf to the Joker's increasingly desperate pleas for him to come back right up until Jason unceremoniously pops him.
When I heard Jensen Ackels say that line in the movie I had to pause it, started crying like a baby for 10 minutes straight! That was the 1rst time I ever felt anger towards Batman... EVER!!!
I just realized how Jason never really put no innocents in the way. Only villains, crime bosses and the members of those bosses gangs. He even threatened the crime bosses to not sell the drugs to the children. Any other villain puts innocents in harms way to kill Batman.
In the Red Hood movie he almost causes a helicopter to crash into a crowded city street while evading Batman. Sure it wasn't intentional but still a kinda dick move lol

Also the fact that apparently in universe, shiva is apparently immune to truth serum. Cause... Cass is a couple months older than Jason... so... yeah. Shiva is immune to truth serum
Yeah I love Batman but sometimes it really annoys me when he refuses to kill someone even though he knows it will lead to saving thousands if not millions of lives

Just came here after finding out that Comicstorian passed away in an accident. R.I.P to Benny for his amazing dramatic readings for our favorite comic books.😢
1 total bad ass quote from red hood is when a thug didn’t talk when Jason told him to with a gun to the thugs head and he said u won’t do it to which Jason replies “ I’m not Batman” and shoots him
Love the Red Hood story. Been waiting for this so long! Cried every time when Jason asked Bruce to make that choice. But I still don’t get why in the movie version, Jason didn’t just finish the Joker when Bruce turned over. Was it because it was meaningless if it wasn’t Batman who killed the Joker?
I think so, he explains that he's not angry that Batman let him die, and that he's mad that Batman didn't kill Joker afterwards. I think the fact that he's not angry that he was let die also means that he isn't looking for revenge himself, so if he were to kill the joker it would mean nothing to him, he only feels like Bruce betrayed him.
He wanted Batman to kill Joker. Why? So he would never let someone like Joker should they arise run wild anymore. Jason could do it, but Batman would always be the opposing force to his methods. He wanted him on his side.
It was the 80s. Iran-US relations were very low at the time, given that it was less than a decade before that the Iranian Revolution took the US Embassy hostage. Hell, this is also the time when the US was supporting Saddam Hussein in the Iran-Iraq war. Not saying relations have much improved nowadays, but there is much more discretion within the comic book industry today.
When Batman and Red Hood realized that Deathstroke is now part of the conversation they know they're in for an even longer fight. It's insane how much Deathstroke can change the aspect of the whole situation.
Batman and Darkseid could be throwing hands, but the second Slade walks into the room, you can guarantee they'd immediately form a temporary "I hate you but let's beat this guy's ass" coalition.
The fact you didn't mention how someone made a computer program to keep calling for Jason death ending up with almost 200+ fake votes is very upsetting cause i find that very interesting
I like to listen to these and pretend I'm back in grade school, and its the time right after recess when the teacher would read to us for like an hour, and instead of stories consisting primarily of animals doing people things, we're reading comics about people who dress up like animal things.
Growing up my dad was a huge comic book fan, much to his dismay. I liked Spider-Man (I guess children live to disappoint their parents 🤣). I remember him telling me several times how a grappling gun and utility belt were cooler, then a web shooter lol. My dad used to tell me when I was little that if I was bad, The Joker was going to come to get me. Then he will put on this deathly serious face and say "Just like my old friend Jason" He would then proceed to look fake sad, Don't worry he went into detail of what happened to "Jason" lol. Anyway after watching this video I call my father and ask him were you referring to Jason Todd. My dad is silent for a second Let's out a joker laugh and hangs up the phone. Thank you, Comicstorian for bringing me and my dad that much closer ♥️
Honestly huge fan of Red hood and at first seeing How they depicted my home country of Lebanon and how Beirut was "violent" tbh was a surprise and extremely inaccurate. Especially when they mention the dessert of Lebanon as Lebanon is all mountains and next to the oceane. There's no dessert there but they describe it like it's Saudi Arabia all desserts or describing it like it's Egypt with it's market and like Afghanistan with the terrorists. Really uncalled for and bit rascist to be honest. Glad they fixed that in the new 52 and rebirth. Great video either way
Batman killing Jason instead of joker shows that Batman doesn’t have a code, he has a crutch. He needs joker to live to use the battle against crime to cope. He doesn’t actually want to end crime
Out of all the heroes and antiheroes red hood is my favorite I know most kids look up to superpowered heroes but I learned towards Batman and when I found out about red hood and I loved him so much more I guess I just loved the idea of a antihero raised by Batman and then trained by the mother of his child truly what Batman would be like if he didn’t hold back
I like how the animated movie portrayed his resurrection better. Probably because it makes more sense within the Bat-verse that he was brought back by a Lazarus pit rather than "because Superboy punched reality" lol
I really enjoy the relationship of Ra's al ghul and Batman. While they are rivals,al ghul wouldn't go so low as to kill Batman's Heir when they both share the same goal with different methods of success .
One thing I find fascinating about Batman in these stories. It's not the people being murdered that Batman disagrees with. He never once says a murder is unjustified. Only that murder is a crime, and you're still a criminal for doing it, an that it's like drugs, once you start it ain't easy to get off of it. All you'll do is kill more and more until its just mass murder, not crime fighting anymore.
I like how in the comic batman is surprised even he had suspicion from the start other than the movie that wasnt even surprised it also shows that batman loved robin and it hit him in a way
I’m starting to realize how ridiculous some comic writing is. Why in tf would anyone make the joker an ambassador and allow him to attend a UN meeting with prominent members? Absolutely ludicrous, even for a comic. Almost turns me off to those writers.
Is there anyone ever told you that at certain points and time when you're being a little more aggressive with your tone of voice you sound like Terry McGinnis
So how exactly did Jason come back? The Lazarus brought him back or is it that he was half dead and then the Lazarus brought back the other half or something?
I promise you I'm not making this up. Superboy prime punched his way out of a paradise dimension and the punches caused ripples in reality that retconned DC history reviving Jason Todd. So basically he got punched back to life.
Definitely enjoyed the first time I watched Red Hood seeing a batman type who was willing to kill the criminals because he doesnt want to risk the criminal doing whatever crime again.
Superman tells Batman not to seek vengeance on Joker for killin his loved one Superman also puts whole arm thru Joker's chest in Injustice for killin his loved one Hypocrite
In his defense the joker tricked Superman into killing Louis while she was pregnant, that's a little more intense than watching a warehouse with your adopted son inside explode
Something not a lot of people mention is that War Games is the prelude to this storyline. It’s my personal head canon that the “death” of Stephanie was one of the deciding factors in Jason returning to Gotham. Honestly I just feel sorry for her. She always gets left out of the Batfamily discussions.

Guess it's time to head to the most dangerous region on the planet and look for her. Its not like he wouldve been calling her if she was some sort of bitchy nihilistic terrorist or something...
@@elsiedoomhammer stories back then were really campy and unrealistic, but yeah, its kinda dumb.
Especially an agent who hadn’t been to Gotham
Also the fact that apparently in universe, shiva is apparently immune to truth serum. Cause... Cass is a couple months older than Jason... so... yeah. Shiva is immune to truth serum
Red Hood: Kills a LITERAL Nazi
Batman: "OK, THATS TOO FAR, TIME TO END THIS"
Red Hood: wait wtf?
Yeah I love Batman but sometimes it really annoys me when he refuses to kill someone even though he knows it will lead to saving thousands if not millions of lives
Haha
@@scionixx9568 it does but you got to realize every Batman in the comics that kills are crazy and sometimes end up killing millions
@@amarifreckl5108 yeah but that is strictly because of the writers. They could just as adult write a Batman who kills only when absolutely needed. Killing one person which will lead to saving hundreds, thousands..and damn maybe even millions of lives.
@@scionixx9568 just look at the animated the dark knight returns where batman “kills” joker
I’m still trying to get over how Jason slept with talia batmans lover wow
Talia slept with deathstroke too
Batman wants nothing to do with Talia as she is a murder nadeshot she had to drug him to even bear his child.
Batman got rapped by her, that doesn’t really qualify as a lover
Yeah me too
- Selina Is his true lover
Best black sheep of the bat family!
Their all black, Jason's the Red Sheep
@@Beast_Of_Madness not really, Red Robin is also Red. The other Robin's wore the bright yellow cape. Nightwing is kinda blue. So uhhhh they're not all black.
@@forbiddensoju yeah but ther main colors are all black and or red.
@@KingKori_2x isn't jason so black and red
@MisterSoju
Whoosh
I hate that the movie took away Jason’s humor
agree
Cholo Frizzle me too

Red Hood has a solid fan base. In general I disliked most of the new 52 changes.
D. C. I enjoyed them! We all have opinions 👍
Tripping
I absolutely love the fact that Batman is stumped as to how hero’s continue to rise from the dead when they die
No one stays dead in comics beside uncle ben
Me sees redhood notification
Alson me:drops everything to see this
Just came here after finding out that Comicstorian passed away in an accident. R.I.P to Benny for his amazing dramatic readings for our favorite comic books.😢
Can we just talk about how good this guys joker laugh is?
1 total bad ass quote from red hood is when a thug didn’t talk when Jason told him to with a gun to the thugs head and he said u won’t do it to which Jason replies “ I’m not Batman” and shoots him
The red hood from arkham knight
Man damn. RIP 🙏🏽
Without a doubt favorite videos on here are about Red Hood.
Jason: Mother.... Please!
Jason's mom: *Vader flashbacks*
I love the mirroring of Jason and Bruces journeys. They both travel the world learning but via different teachers and environment
Don’t mind me just binge watching every full story on the channel lol. The music you put in each scene just makes me feel more immersed
40:52 is by far my favourite moment of all of red hoods lines
This story is much more then I realized. Thank you for this story. It really expands my thought on Red Hood
The way you narrated and voiced this was amazing
A first person game where you play as Red Hood with heavy metal and parkour/titanfall like mechanics would be fun as hell
I spat out my tea when the _Grand Ayatollah of Iran_ offered the Joker a government position.
It was the 80s. Iran-US relations were very low at the time, given that it was less than a decade before that the Iranian Revolution took the US Embassy hostage. Hell, this is also the time when the US was supporting Saddam Hussein in the Iran-Iraq war.
Not saying relations have much improved nowadays, but there is much more discretion within the comic book industry today.
i love this channel since we cant go anywhere due to the coronavirus i can just chill at home and watch this all day!! epic channel btw :D
The laugh of the joker from you is a very good impression
I’ll never understand why Batman would kill Jason but not joker
Cause he sucks and joker doesn’t
Some writers take that part too far
The first thing in the book is Batman and Robin stopping some child p-rnography operation. Wow.
@@amberhernandez which would join whose side again?
The fact you didn't mention how someone made a computer program to keep calling for Jason death ending up with almost 200+ fake votes is very upsetting cause i find that very interesting
Wait did that actually happened?
I like to listen to these and pretend I'm back in grade school, and its the time right after recess when the teacher would read to us for like an hour, and instead of stories consisting primarily of animals doing people things, we're reading comics about people who dress up like animal things.
dude I wish these were. on Spotify as podcasts bc I would totally listen to them there
I love how bat man is always tooting his own horn
Great video either way
They wear headdresses in Egypt?
Could we get some story’s with Dick Grayson as Robin
Yea, I don't blame Jason for going anti-hero and going against batman. Jason is just tragic.
I hope we see this in live action one day
@panda panda Titans season 3
Man we miss you Benny R.I.P 😢
Batman killing Jason instead of joker shows that Batman doesn’t have a code, he has a crutch. He needs joker to live to use the battle against crime to cope. He doesn’t actually want to end crime
Joker is cooler than Jason tho
@@killmonger5097 cope harder
@@wolfgang_h3t what is Jason your favorite?
It's my Birthday and this was a great present! Thanks Benny!
My personal favorite DC Character with Nightwing.
same
one of the saddest storys ever in comic history in my opinion
wait 58:18 didn't Jason Todd dig himself out? He was found with the suit he was buried in with dirt in his fingernails.
There are different versions of his origin story but that is one of them
I like the Lazarus pit origin
Red Hood honestly might be one of my favorite DC Comics character ever
This is for us who has been fans I love this sooo much !!!
Now that I think about it, I’m surprised they’ve never made Red Hood a red lantern
I would lose my _mind_ if Jason became a red lantern 😍
It's actually interesting Batman went on a several year long round the world trip to learn his skills. Jason did the same.
Really enjoyed watching that. What better way to do an origin story than actually covering the original story.
1:01:04
I can see why he's upset.
Honestly, thank you so much for making these videos.
Rest in peace🫶🏼
All this build up of Jason and still gets his ass beat by Batman and simply taken out with a batterang 😂😂😂
I freaking love red hood
This Batman was awesome, especially the parkour chase
carl charleston yes very iconic.
I love that it’s “skin” colored make up as if clown make up is the jokers real face
Jason needs some pants when he's dressed up as Robin.
I think you guys do the best comic overviews on UA-cam
I love Jason so much he deserves the world!!
I started writing a red hood story that I titled “what’s really under the red hood”
Bruhh I didnt even notice it was an hour and 12 minutes. This is good stuff
Is there anyone ever told you that at certain points and time when you're being a little more aggressive with your tone of voice you sound like Terry McGinnis
there is a timeline where batman didn't kill Jason instead Jason became an anti hero, this story feels like the bad ending of the red hood's story
Jason wasn't bothered by the fact Tim Drake was the new Robin, what really got him was the fact only after his death, did Robin receive PANTS
So how exactly did Jason come back? The Lazarus brought him back or is it that he was half dead and then the Lazarus brought back the other half or something?
I wanted to ask the same
I promise you I'm not making this up. Superboy prime punched his way out of a paradise dimension and the punches caused ripples in reality that retconned DC history reviving Jason Todd. So basically he got punched back to life.
Irone Winsley fucking comics
Yeah that's the truth

Definitely enjoyed the first time I watched Red Hood seeing a batman type who was willing to kill the criminals because he doesnt want to risk the criminal doing whatever crime again.
Superman tells Batman not to seek vengeance on Joker for killin his loved one
Superman also puts whole arm thru Joker's chest in Injustice for killin his loved one
Hypocrite
In his defense the joker tricked Superman into killing Louis while she was pregnant, that's a little more intense than watching a warehouse with your adopted son inside explode
@@zekesmith6332 nah still hypocritical
That’s because Superman is a little bitch

This is the first time I’ve heard them take down Pedos
I never knew why people were into comics… always been a manga guy but I been missing out lol
Something not a lot of people mention is that War Games is the prelude to this storyline. It’s my personal head canon that the “death” of Stephanie was one of the deciding factors in Jason returning to Gotham.
Honestly I just feel sorry for her. She always gets left out of the Batfamily discussions.
