I love Marabu Rainbow glitter alcohol ink. I recently purchased the other glitter inks they have. I think there’s 4 more of them. I’ve just got them so, I haven’t tried them yet but, I’m excited to!

Well lookie at you! :) Sweet lady, it is always good to see you! We are headed up to north Alabama tomorrow to buy some fruit trees! I am excited! You mentioned the rose bushes. My Mother kept a rose bush until the day she passed. I enjoy remembering her, so I thank you! :) I figure if I make enough hearts, I just might come up with my own "look"!!! That sounds like fun, fruit trees are the best. My grandma has a huge apple and cherry tree at her house. She lives out in the country. We love going to visit and pick apples and cherries at her place. She is going to be 85 this year.

When you dropped it in there you could definitely see the iridescence from that rainbow alcohol ink. It seems very similar to the pearl with the shimmer it has. I am due for new alcohol inks pretty soon anyway. Most of mine are empty or leaked out by accident. I like the center of this one. It’s beautiful. It’s always hard to tell whether to put the glitter on the back or whether to put a Center in it. We never know how they’re going to turn out. Lol That’s what upsets me when I do these. Afterwords I always wish I would have added the glitter or the center or something LOL but that’s the way it is with these coasters.
But this one is perfect!
Awe thanks Sherri, I know what you mean. I never know if I should add the glitter backing or not and it's easier to keep it in the mold if you decide to add it. With this one I wish I would have added some crushed glass bits in the center but that's OK. I'll know for next time right? 😁
I've never tried the pearl inks before I'll have to check those out too, they sound pretty. I was excited about this rainbow ink because it's so sparkly & I just found out they have other colors too 😍 thanks for watching 🤗🌸🌷

They have a 40 set of marabu on amazon too for $106 compared to almost $10 each. I’m tempted to get the set because I need new ones anyway. Lol

I love the alcohol inks! How do you get the microbubbles out of your resin. Table Top seems to have a LOT!
Thank you 💜 the alcohol inks help pop them. I also heat my tabletop resin in a mini crock pot for 10 minutes before I measure and mix it. It will reduce your working time but it helps Eliminate bubbles a lot. I use the smallest size crock pot. I think it was $10 @walmart. I put my parts A and B inside Condiment squeeze bottles then place those inside the crock pot on high for about 10 minutes. Use a crock pot liner or a plastic bag to line the crock pot.
Or you can do a warm water bath but I don't have running water In the garage where I do resin. The mini crock pot is easier for me.
To do the water bath just fill a big bowl with warm water and put your parts A and B in there for about 10 minutes before you measure and mix. It will cut your working time down too. So just keep that in mind 💜 hope that all made sense
I have tried to duplicate this look several times but I can never get the depth and the feathery look of the petals. I have tried waiting an hour before drawing the petals, etc. Do I need to use a mica paste instead of powder?
Hi, yes you need to use epoxy paste. It works the best. I get mine from Laura's art corner. It's called angel white epoxy paste. Heres the link to it.

Thank you 💜🌸 it also has a lot to do with the temperature of your resin. I bought a $13 infared temperature gun off amazon and it really helps get pretty flowers.

Im honestly scared to use those I only use alcohol but not on these since I’m sure it will ruin the design. I’m a big chicken of causing a fire 🔥 lol

Do your colours fade over time? I use pinata alcohol inkts but in resin they fade quickly.
I haven't had that happen. What resin are you using? I have some pieces made with pinata inks that I've kept and they're a few years old. They look just like when I poured them and haven't faded.

@@dr.bergpensionado1005 I think that's why, from what I understand the chemicals in polyester resin are more harsh than epoxy resin. I've only ever used epoxy resin with alcohol inks and haven't had a problem. Maybe try epoxy resin if you can?

I haven't tried alot of different resins for my art projects. What made you try the total boat? Is there a high voc rating?
I've been using TotalBoat TableTop Epoxy for a long time on my channel. I have a lot of other videos using it on my channel.
I like it because it's a thick viscosity and has zero VOC. I prefer to use resin that is zero VOC.
@@naptimecreations do you notice an odor with totalboat or 360+? Do you prefer one over the other?

@@kellyjean4981 neither have a strong smell. The platinum 360 is my favorite for flower coasters. The TotalBoat TableTop epoxy is good for all projects and more of a one size fits all resin but neither have a strong smell. I try to only use resin's without smell. It really bothers my husband if they're stinky. 💜
@@naptimecreations yes, I’m trying to find an all round resin, that doesn’t have a strong smell. I’ve almost had to give up my resin crafts as my hubby is also sensitive to the smell. I don’t blame him I suppose but I love working with resin. Thank you for the info. Have you tried totalboat high performance? With their different cure times (fast, medium, slow)?

I have tried their high performance epoxy and I really like it too. I like to use the slow hardner. In this video I made flower coasters with the high performance epoxy and the slow hardner

The high performance epoxy does have a slight smell though. It's a little stronger than the TableTop Epoxy but I would say it's very mild compared to other brands I've tried. To me the TableTop Epoxy has no smell. The high performance has a slight smell. But my husband didn't complain about it.
