Russia was an emerging market; I’d say it’s submerged into a frontier market now. Russian corporate bonds fell 94% in 3 months, their stock market fell 35% on day 1 of the invasion, has been closed 4 days, Russian stocks ETFs are down 37 to 78% in a week. It shows how risky single country funds can be.
For the guy with the voya 2045. He said the cost of the fund was .39 points. I am not a finance advisor, but I set up 401ks for work. 401ks have fees that are on basis points. So u maybe paying more to leave it with ur old employer. Check with ur former employer to see if ur paying for platform charges while leaving ur money there.
The conflicting information I got when viewing the illustration (of the chess position) and the title of your presentation is quite unique and perhaps amusing to someone.
What happens if other stocks not based in the US do well for an extended period. Also, indexing is about tracking markets, not investing based on feelings and choosing markets to invest in. In other words, invest in ALL public companies available as an investor.
As gardner would say, to be a good gardner you have to buy a plant and then have a plant not do good. What investment did you buy, that lost money. Or that you sold too quickly.
Hi Rob, what are your thoughts about VTIB for my bond allocation in taxable account and FXNAX in 401k . I am thinking about of splitting my bond allocation between the two accouts. I live in a CT state high taxes and I have 100k invested and income of 130k yearly.
Rob just a few tweaks for the new studio. You have something in the camera frame on the right side - black fuzz on the top right corner. Also the water bottle looks huge sitting where it is in the frame. Both are a little distracting. Otherwise I like your wife’s office better!
Hi Robert, following your content for a while, and very grateful for all your insights. I am not quite sure what to do rightnow. I have made my investments mostly in my own country, but know i want to get into the US market. I have read about the tax applied to nras (non resident aliens) and it is very harsh towards dividends, but does not tax capital gains for non US income sources. So my question is: Could one build a well diversified portfolio using low dividend paying etfs?
I think we should not invest in countries that have no democracy because our money are not safe there from the wimp of a ruler. We should not invest in countries that have weak military forces. I mean, if the national wealth cannot be protected from a foreign intruder, why trust them with money?
If you want to invest in bloody Putleria, go ahead, it’s USA, a free country ;) , you can do as you wish. I would rather invest in this country, and not let it slip economically. Let’s understand that even though you don’t want to talk about politics, we vote with our money.
TOTALLY unnecessary, buying international funds, that is; when approximately 40% of the revenues in the companies in a total-stock-market index fund, already come from outside the U.S. Unless, you just don't want any exposure to any company domiciled in the U.S; and I can't understand why anybody would want that!
Let me say the time stamps have elevated this channel *chef kiss*

I like this setup. The other one feels comfortable, like I’m sitting with you at home. This one feels more professional. Both work.
I'm catching up on videos and much prefer the old room because it was cozier (wall is way to close here) and not super white.
Another great session Rob! Thanks! I love the time stamps, but I can't seen to wait for them😁
"seem"
Rob, I like your new setup (and love the content). Thanks for all you do for the individual investor. What type of mechanical keyboard is that?

I like investing where i live (good old usa) i want to see those companies prosper that directly impact my and my families life..just my 2 cents
There’s a jacket or something hanging to your left intruding into the screen.
Yes. Agree.
Omg. Paul get a life.

The Street is giving International funds a D+ score and urged to sell now. You video helps me understand better.
Where are you going to invest that isn't a part of the American empire though?
I cant see a reason to hold international funds.

Use Vanguard, Fidelity or Schwab for lowest fees.
Vti or voo and done
Where's the photos of you with the President, the Queen of England, the Pope, Dahlia Lama and the Beatles?
Many of the sp500 companies already sell internationally. Your getting international revenue already. Just look at caterpillar.
Hey rob, just came to say that you say the world “maybe” a lot. That is all. Love the channel. I like when you talk about ex us allocation.
thanks

All of my international stocks have lost money, even in an up market. Like BABA etc.
Our country is n trouble. How do we financially prepare and protect our investments? Comments from all appreciated.
Pray, that''s the best. I invest in broad spectrum and have cash set aside, but ultimately we're all at the mercy of God.
Your beautiful wife’s picture is in a much happier place now. Joy!
You are too funny! Lol

I just switched my portfolio into 100% emerging markets so interesting timing 👀
@ETF- IT all in
Stop it, Mr. VT.
US investors shouldn't avoid international funds apart from those with exposure to Russia
You are happy to invest in China/UAE/India? All part of Putin's circle of trust
@@roger4880 Not now lol, had already bypassed UAE!
@@roger4880 I'm happy to invest in total international index fund. Same as I choose total stock market index for my US funds
