Second, I know I'm years late, but I can see Roland's point. Unfair mario, while the game's title indicates it, is waaaay to unfair in my opinion. With cat mario, I feel like there's some balance with the unfairness

@@thatblacknorwegian2002 Syobon Action is basically unfairness with playtesting, proper game design (at least to the extent of rage games), leniency and replayability value.
It's why I love it so much, there is actual thought put into the traps, it always feels like a punch in the face, rather than in the nuts.
Though, I do admire when it gets more evil, too. I'm a masocore game connoisseur.
In my opinion, it's best when it gradually becomes more unfair and difficult to play, while still maintaining enough decency to give the player a break.
Because it lets you gather experience along the way, making the later stages more enjoyable.
